  1. Anyone can go find it by looking up Construction Bids at the Department of Purchasing section of UA's website. The campus master plan is changing if you recall. Coleman Commons is still a street on the original master plan. If they add men's scholarships they have to add the equivalent women's scholarships or remove the same number of men's from another sport. So I doubt it.
  2. As far as locations go, Buchtel Field is now officially out. The new women's tennis facility will be constructed, Phase I is 6 outdoor courts, Phase II will be indoor courts and training center. I believe some funding is coming from UPA on this one.
  3. I've heard it is Jordan Flu.
  4. Bingo, I don't think the JAR is going anywhere even if we do build a new arena. You can lower the cost of the new arena by forgoing admin offices and moveable seats for practice areas. If the Arena is just concessions, team shop, gameday locker rooms, suites, and restrooms, that lessens square footage, and lowers costs. The only other thing I would consider having in the arena is an upgraded Hall of Fame, but I thought space in Infocision should have been used for that.
  5. Akron Aug. 29 at Central Florida Sep. 7 James Madison 14 at Michigan 21 Louisiana-Lafayette 28 *at Bowling Green Oct. 5 *Ohio 12 *at Northern Illinois 19 *at Miami 26 *Ball State Nov. 2 *Can't State 16 *at UMass 29 *Toledo, TBA (ESPNU/ESPN3) Which is fine by me, I'll take Toledo at home on a Friday, though it will likely be a day game.
  6. Yes, its built into the SAC, but everything in this thread is about modeling, idea generation. So, its something to start with and consider. Is you dump the track and make seating permanent, then its a hell of a facilty. Also, if we build on campus, we don't need to build admin offices, you could reno the jar into a practice and admin facility.
  7. I'm sure it has been mentioned but UNC-Charlotte Halton Arena (9000 cap), is a perfect design, and it was done for $29 million in the 90's.
  8. I believe that we I believe that we have won Reggie Keely stinks
  9. Just one basket. Come on Zips!!!
  10. One timeout left for OU, and then two bs travel calls on Abreu.
  11. Grey Shirt or preferred walk on status probably
  12. I still like the NKU arena. No way would we do 3800, I think that number has very likely been misinterpreted. Probably something like this... Option one 7000-7500 - 64 million Option two 3800 in addition (meaning 10,800-11,300) an additional 44 million ($108 million) Option three changing JAR to all chairbacks and renovations to cut corners (Likely in the same 44-64 million area but only nets 1000 extra seats). Somebody probably heard 3800 and cutting corners and put two and two together. As far as money is concerned let's not forget UPA also plays a major role in this, and yes FirstEnergy just gave Haslam $102 million for naming rights but there is always Gojo, Goodyear, Firestone, First Merit, and several Cleveland companies and Flying J (Haslam now owes the Akron area a favor).
  13. Which means he was likely on anti-psychotics that tend to have the side effect of suicide. I point this out because the depression likely made him a candidate for mental health help as opposed to neurological medicine. I wish that science had been more advanced in the leather helmet error so we could find out if concussion numbers were lower with less pads.
  14. There fixed it.
  15. So remainder of the schedule is Home: James Madison; UL-Lafayette Away: Michigan; Central Florida So a solid FCS opponent and 3 bowl teams. In fact we only have two teams that didn't make a bowl on our schedule.
  16. Ah man, I just started watching this, I'm so far behind...
  17. From this? No, more than likely made it better. Remember you are only allowed so much contact with a recruit, they got the early verbal, they watched Pohl through the year. They told this kid honestly, you're going to come into a situation where we don't have a named starter as of yet, but we have a heavy favorite, so we aren't pulling your scholarship persay, but we won't be offended if you break your verbal. The kid seems good enough to go to a school and start right away, so they were being as open as they could before the door really closed on him.
  18. Because the markets dictate what choices they can make. Like it or not, college sports are the way they are, there are thousands of athletes that don't complain about it, in fact, they openly appreciate the opportunity. They are free, and no one is hampering their choices. Maybe if none of those top tier athletes accepted the scholarships the market would have to change, but there are far more people who want to live that way then there are that don't. BTW, $18,000 disposable income is a far cry from poverty. Poverty is based on discretionary income, and even that for an individual is $17,000. You are smart enough to know the difference between disposable and discretionary.
  19. they left out a word... "Think Bigger...disappointments"
  20. Lost all credibility with that sentence. Cleveland is the one that caught it on fire, and it burned because of all the floating debree in it, had nothing to do with Akron. Its not like all of Akron's rubber companies dumped into the Cuyahoga, Goodyear used Cuyahoga water during production; Firestone, and BFG used Tuscarawas, which is why Summit Lake is a cess pool, but don't blame Akron on the burning river.
  21. That kind of thing from FIU will help them land a great coach...
  22. Missed in GP1's point is this...a glaring lack of non-caucasian collegiate coaches. Why couldn't an athlete choose to get a bachelors in football science and then get their masters in sports administration. It's not that awful of an idea. The University still requires a well rounded education. Lets be honest, a football science degree would allow for people to have a much brighter career path then an English degree.
  23. As soon as we win 6 games.
  24. Let's not and say we did.
