  1. We held them to 6 points and 200 yards and you think the DB's got beat too many times. It's laughable the extent people will go to be negative. The only negatives in this game were the penalties and the kickoff coverage. Nail both of those down and the final is 66-0.
  2. Buffalo gave up 34 to the same Morgan St. We gave up 6 because of some yellow flags.
  3. Which means no. I have no problem with people rooting for whoever, but these kind of smarmy comments are pathetic. Acting like you are better or different because you also root for crappy ND is sad.
  4. That plan works better if you are a Native American.
  5. I tried watching it, but I haven't seen offensive ineptitude like that since a certain playbook pants stuffer took on a school from the heart of Michigan.
  6. They'll see one of them in Championship game, so no biggie there. I don't root for teams to fail in the MAC (unless its Can't) but I'm really getting ready to start hating on OU. Hype for doing nothing. Beating a Penn State team that will lose all 12 games this season?
  7. More like the Tulsa of the Great Lakes if you ask me. Who, and I do mean this strongly, WHO have they beaten of any value? Do we want to win like they are; yes, but OU isn't even close to being a BCS buster.
  8. Roo, did you graduate from Notre Dame?
  9. Because of the way you chose to select the time periods. The game is played in quarters. You can break it down however you want, but the bottom line is scoring went like this. 15 15 15 15 OT 7 7 7 17 3 13 7 0 18
  10. All great observations. Leaders (which Bowden is) have a sense of ownership. You need that to be accept that there are problems, you can't just blame people that were there before you for the issues you are having, you have to recognize there are issues and correct them. Bowden was the right choice, and I honestly can't get enough of this team right now. The coach's show is great though I did notice that they chose Suel for Player of the Game (99 yds 2 TD). I have to wonder if the player of the game isn't chosen with some team input. I'm sure Dalton would have been the first to commend Suel considering he caught 25% of all of DW's completions.
  11. That is some selective math. 14 points in the first half, 24 points in the second half. We scored 20 points in the first, 18 points in second. We scored three times in both halves. They scored twice in the first and 4 times in the second. Is that fatigue? Not really we gave them awesome field position for one of those scores (the only TD of the third quarter). We out scored them in the 4th. We trailed after the third and the "Fatigued" defense made two major stops in the 4th to let us come back. Again, we need more depth, but considering what NZF is pointing out, it proves our guys were better conditioned. FIU had several guys cramping up and coming out of the game, their center made the mental mistakes on the two botched snaps. That shows they were more tired then we were.
  12. Most likely 52-12. I'm bullish on the direction of this team.
  13. I don't think the D is as bad as some of you think. FIU had the ball a full 12 minutes longer then we did (a result of our lack of a running game to chew clock). They ran 80 plays and gained 441 yards for 5.5 yards a play. We forced 10 punts, we balance out that TOP we win that game. They gashed us on three runs 44, 29, 32 which is 105 of their 232 yards rushing on 3 carries. That means they carried the ball 47 times for less then 3 yards (2.7). Those three plays also represent 14 points (first and last touchdown). If you give an offense almost a full quarter on the field the defense is going to get some cracks and give up something. The announcers did nothing but praise the defense the whole game, especially the D-Line. Those four accounted for 21 of 84 tackles. 43 of the 84 tackles were made by the front 7. Those are good things. We need to improve depth yes, but we have some talent there and a few guys we expect something from are probably going to get some playing time after Tennessee (like Turner, Rossi etc., hopefully Price) That will will help ease that burden a bit. Goal for the year was 2 wins. I realistically thank we can get 5 (yes that means 4-4 in the MAC).
  14. Congratulations Dalton Williams, though no award or recognition is as good as a win, this just proves some things are moving in the right direction.
  15. Yeah i mean we've only had 3 coaches and a recruiting coordinator since 1995.
  16. Not sure, maybe they're homers, I don't know.
  17. Remember, Ianello beat him out for the Akron job, Ianello.
  18. Moot point, a larger ball is harder to hold on to, meaning a higher propensity to fumble, something FIU had troubles with in game 1. On a serisou note, it is supposed to be wet tomorrow, and both teams are spread/pass oriented. Rain makes the field slower, just wondering how that will play out for both of these teams.
  19. Well with a tropical depression sitting in the gulf, it is likely to be low.
  20. Yeah, because the team isn't traveling today or anything. So far this month, 87, 81, 89, 75, 82, 87. Miami, 91, 88, 88, 88, 89, 87. Again, this early in the year, not a factor, sorry. If this was October 13th, i'd say it was factor, because you will have hit the cooling part of the summer, and a month of 65-75 degree days, while Miami was still in their 80-89 phase. Plus FIU is thin too, if they weren't they would have competed better against Duke. Heat and conditioning will not be factors in this game.
  21. I have spent a lot of time in the south, I started dating my wife when she lived in Savannah, GA. I know what coastal humidity is, but I also know what weather fallacies are. Akron sits at the heads of the Tuscarawas some 40 miles from from the coast of Lake Erie. Are humidity and heat in the summer are very similar to humidity and heat anywhere along the coast. It is a generalization that the south is hotter. Why? Because their average temperature is higher. They get about 3 weeks of additional 90 degree days. That and mild winters are the difference. It has been 80's all week with high humidity, real "cooling" of weather there. Sorry, this early in the football season, climate is not a factor.
  22. You are going with generalized weather. The average yearly humidity in Akron is 39 the average for Miami is 38. Making Akron a more humid place. Summer averages are Miami 83 and Akron 80. So only slightly more humid. Again, this early in the season weather is not a factor. Late October, i would maybe agree with you as climatization would have changed for our players, but still being summer there is no advantage.
  23. Heat shouldn't be a concern this early in the season. We've had the hottest summer in the last 50 years, all week has been high 80's and 90's. It will likely be rainy and 85-89 tomorrow. Nothing they shouldn't be used to this eraly in the season.
  24. It would be offensive to associate Penn State with bottoms.
