Bowling Green has the lowest athletic budget of any MAC school, and they have the least to show for what they do spend. They would make a very nice D-II school. So than we are looking at EMU, BGSU. Takes us to 10 football teams, force Temple to join or bounce (that decision should be coming pretty soon anyway) and then look to the Big 12, Big East, C-USA leftovers. If 16 becomes the trend then you have to figure the ACC, and SEC will raid the Big East and C-USA for a total of 8 teams. There are 20 in there. If the Big 12 tries to stay alive they have to replace up to 8 teams (depending on what the PAC 10 does). I believe it was in another thread but I believe in 8 conferences of 16 (that totals 128 teams, but there are at least 8 teams that want to advance out of FCS). Schedules would work to where you play your 7 division opponents, 2 conference opponents and 3 teams from similar level from 3 different conferences (For instance Boise State would likely have to play Iowa, Cal, & Miami). You play 8 championship games the eight winners are seeded into bowl games (based off of OOC performance and overall record, in addition to some computer ranking factoring those things in). 1 plays 8 etc. You keep a bowl structure for the 8 conference losers and up to 8 bowl games. Meaning bowls actually drop to 20. Then you have the winners of the "Championship" bowls play in a semi final game, then a final. Still takes the same length of time, a real champion is named, max games played is 16 (12 regular, 1 Championship, 1 quarterfinal bowl, 1 semi-final bowl, 1 final). It appeases everyone (excpet the reductionist GP1) by keeping the FBS as group of over 120 schools, forces independents into conferences, and it gives every team in the country a chance. Also it holds onto the integrity of the regular season as records matter still for post season play, and adds an 8 team playoff. A team might say we went 12-1, why does 9-4 so&so get a chance to play for the championship. Well you didn't win your conference, if you can't win your conference how can you be national champion? Tangent over.

I wonder if the demo of memorial also means demo of the skywalk connectind to the JAR.

Are you sure? He is a Wistrcill hire.

You forgot Teal.

EMU only had 25,000 total all season!? There are high school teams that draw more(McKinley, Massillion to name a couple) If the NCAA really wanted to enforce the threshold, there are lots of schools, not just in the MAC that would be in trouble. Most of the Sunbelt
-
Well the MAC could use some decent "filtering". GP1 mentions "quality of product" all the time. Typically you improve quality by trimming unnecessary parts. The question is, how do you determine those parts? Attendance is only one measure. That means EMU, Can't. And it wasn't more than 5 years ago that we had issues, and there is no guarantee we won't. The biggest problem is how over represented Ohio is in the conference (6 teams). It really dillutes the chances of the Ohio schools of succeeding.

Try 20-30 times.

Agreed, but apparently MU(OH) is all about letting people see their absolute worst. Just ask those 3 sororities.

I'm sure you gained so much insight while riding the pine. You have any idea how much talking goes on behind the scenes? Any idea how decisions are made, or how coaches find out about other jobs? You really think TW didn't have the entire staff knowing what was going to happen if they failed? Do you really think the coaching staff didn't already know going into the season what was going to happen? TW started September 10th (officially). Reno resigned 10/31 (officially). A whole 41 days. Everyone wants to blame the new guy, but Hunter had more information on the goings on than anyone. If any decision was made TW only signed off on it. It was JD's hire, he had as much say in it as anyone. But you guys jump on the AD. With no proof of what went on from the University's side.

Well good for you that you support a "friend". But at least I know my guesses are complete bs considering I've been told so by the the biggest bs spiller on here. Countdown to ITZ giving up on the Zips (again) 3 months. Ok, you're wrong, and your pride is hurt, and you look like an idiot. We get it. Eat crow and move on. None of that actually. I'm tired of you and your tired BS. But other than that I'm quite fine. I'm not attacking Reno, but I am saying until someone provides something legit, I'm not abandoning my opinion of what happened. Until someone proves otherwise; Reno was in the wrong, left on his own and had a sour taste because he didn't like how things went with the new bosses (happens all the time) and said how he felt about it. People take one side as fact. I still believe TW told Reno what the outcome was going to be if he stayed, I still believe TW handled the situation professionally.

See I would disagree with this statement, if no violation occurred then he would have no problem finding another job. So what does that tell you? Additionally if he left on "bad terms", and he didn't do anything wrong, he would have a lawsuit on his hands that any lawyer would take up and it wouldn't cost him a cent. Reno may very well have been a "good guy" but it doesn't mean he didn't make a mistake. Either way I stick by my belief that he was given an opportunity after everything came out and he chose to walk. So ask yourself, why did he walk?

You can call my account of it "crap" if that is what you want to do, but unless you show where your "knowledge" is somehow more accurate than mine both are complete opinion and conjecture.

Hey CK, any word on why it was cancelled? Coach I not a golfer? TW trying to find a way to get more people even though they can't park at the golf course becasue those spots go to "top donors"?

I will go with a simple 70-0 Also can anyone do anything with the "Culture of Champions" logo they have, you know maybe something that ties in Worthlessburger's sexual assaults and the 3 sororities that have been suspended due to "lude acts". (anyone else see a correlation between the two?)

Perhaps he can get a transplant from someone with Monster Hands.

First, I asked because I wanted to hear your contribed horrible responses. Wistrcill and the firing of Ferri ruffled some feathers. But if you look at it from a non-biased point of view. Reno had to be internally investigated because of the rumors (this requires suspension of duties). After what 2-3 weeks he was allowed his own release. Now see, here you guys say "fired". Fact is if he was fired the "violations" would have been stated. There was going to be a staff change at the end of the year anyway. This gave Reno the opportunity to look for new jobs early. No apology is required to the public (which is getting so old it's sickening, because a public apology doesn't mean didly squat because it's written by lawyers) because TW apologized to Reno's face, and leveled with him about the direction of the team (honesty in practice). The texting thing...please see my "public apology" comment in the first statement. As far as 'mistrust between players and coaches' you are basing this on what? Personal knowledge? I suppose the guy that takes care of the grass hill told you about that. I doubt very seriously there was any mistrust created. Lemon would have been talking of leaving (fact) and players would have known and told Coach I. Coach I made his mistake, which brought Lemon's discontent with the situation to light. Everyone sat down (TW, Ianello, Lemon) and discussed his concerns. They gave Lemon his space, he decided to ask for reinstatement. If anything that tells the players, if you have a concern let's address it. Yeah it was a joke for all of 4 days, so f-ing what. Like our team wasn't a joke for 4 months last year because of performance. Like our team didn't get negative pub because of Jacquemain or what's his name "punch a guy in the face". No the real issue is you didn't like either hire (for what ever reason, maybe you had some dream selection and it let you down) and you just want to jump on anything negative and make a bigger deal about it than it is.
-
Wow, Neither person has been in their position for a year and you already have a problem with both of them. Why is a TW hire "Bad news"? What was the "bad consequence" of the texting thing?

Akron Tailgate Lot Priority Policy

There are bricks by the gate near Stiles, the small bricked semi circle. Also the Foundation plaque is near the main ticket office wall. -
It's quite possible he is the son of former Raiders offensive tackle John Clay. If so, Clay Sr. has made an incredibly bad choice about where to invest in real estate. Well he only played 2 seasons in the NFL in the 80's and as we all know the NFL doesn't take very good care of it's superstars let alone role players or early injuries.

It requires no more staff than they currently have. Run the promotion from now until the end of July. The results can easily be tracked on a spreadsheet by someone in finance. Believe me, there are enough people sitting around the University with their thumbs up their butts that tracking this for Athletic Department staff would not be hard. This is a way for everyone in the Athletic Department to get involved and earn some extra cash. They all complain about not making enough, well...here you go. Or you could have someone in the athletic department track it using paper and a crayon. And then use that as the art for the season ticket books.

Commission is a great idea. It does require having hired staff, unless grad assistants can earn additional money for their stipend (I don't know how that all works out). But yes, you need a larger incentive than "it's for your school, have some pride."

The first non-football event at Infocision

Every mentions Lebron & Jordan, and the lack of championships. Jordan didn't win his first championship until he was almost 30. Jordan, Johnson, Bryant, Bird, Pierce & Thomas all had/have solid supporting casts. You take Lebron out, the Cavs have a 30 win team. He has never had a real supporting cast. I also would love to see Lebron playing under the "Jordan" rules. No Zone defenses at all, can start running from the wing and not get called for traveling. Also remember, the league royally sucked when Jordan was playing.
