The bottom line is, other than the money Porter has everything he wants here, and he can go to Wistrcill and say "You've got to give me more money if you want to keep me." I think if the university can match that by 55 to 65% Porter would have no reason to leave. At some point, winning championships is more important than a big pay check (and he's closer to home here). Now if you had said Indiana was going to offer him, I would be worried.The bottom line is this. Proenza wants to be successful, he knows that in order to do so you have to have successful people. Deep down I think he knows that salaries for the coaches are going to have to go up if he really wants the athletics programs to start winning consistantly.

It's a shame that the Beacon doesn't do more, and where is the nightly news coverage?I mean not just soccer, Jenna and Stevi won individual national championships. What because they are "olympic sports" it's less important? I still say what kills the school from gaining attention is the lack of a real media presence here in Akron.
