I'm pretty sure he has done it every year. We need to come out and establish a defensive mindset from the beginning of the game. I would guess the team won't be going to any more movies on the night before the game.

Some of the posters here seem to think that the players are some kind of robots or objects in a video game that the coach can manipulate at will. All they are is a bunch of kids and young adults playing a game. I would love for the Zips to win every game , but sometimes the other team just plays better. Bottom line for me is the reality that they are just human, the coaches too.

No...not in the first half at least. KD said the plan was to double team Mauvunga and that left 14 open. Once KD changed the game plan at the half, 14was rendered irrelevent.

I would think that the Zips match up well with Morrison. We have at least 3 guys who should be able to cover him pretty well without having to double team.

If we see Bo Boroski on the screen, we're screwed!

There are some big changes going on at the ABJ in regards to how they view their position in todays media. I think they have decided that they should cover more local stories and stop trying to be major player on the state and national news. This bodes well for the Zips and other local institutions. George seemed very sincere in his desire to really get some good in depth coverage and left with a few tidbits of information that might find its way into some future stories. Overall a good experience for all involved, I would expect it to happen again.

Last night Nik was scoreless in the first half and launched a few 3's, but in the second half he was able to fake the 3 and had quite a few nice drives to the hoop that resulted in points for his team. Nik brings so much more to the table that I am willing to put up with a few bad outside shots. I don't think KD is going to embarrass one of the Senior leaders of this team by making a big deal out of it during the game.

If anything, it's the opposite of bad coaching. A lack of fundamentals was not what caused the concussions. Back in the day, when you and I were that age, the coaches would have just told the kid to suck it up and get back into the game. Our coaching staff was trained to recognize the symptoms and took the actions to make sure the kids got proper treatment. And just so you know, the bigger, faster, size matters thing applies in the 7th grade too.

Several kids on my sons 7th grade team suffered concussions last season. I saw a story on the news the other night about a company that is developing a device that would alert the coach if a player took a hit that could cause a concussion. It was a small device that attached to the helmet and a red flashing light would go off if the hit was severe. That would alert the coach who could have the player examined before being allowed back into the game.

After 7 years it's pretty obvious that KD doesn't run a system that relies on one "star" to win games. I think a big part of why Zeke chose UA was that he would not face the pressure of having to carry the team on his back. I think Zeke has progressed nicely in this system and we are winning. I don't understand the obsession with having to win a certain way, with certain players having to step up in order to win. So far KD's biggest problem seems to be keeping players #10 and 11 happy on a 9 deep roster.

We won those games, didn't we? We found a way to win, didn't we? Quit being so caught up in how you think we should look and sit back and enjoy the ride. If the greatest golfer in the world hits one into the trees off the tee and then hits the next shot into the hole for an eagle 2, do you think we should focus on the bad tee shot or the great second shot? No matter which, it still goes on the scorecard as a 2. I prefer to look at the fact that in crunch time when it really matters, we took care of business.
