  1. When we take care of the ball, good things happen. 2-1 assist to turnover ratio. http://gozips.com/sports/mbkb/2011-12/rele.../201201018pz0za
  2. Wasn't he the guy who won the lottery during his previous stint at UA? He was here the same time T-Bow was with the Zips in 86.
  3. Best post of the season!
  4. It was KD's decision to give the Serb the ball at the end of regulation.
  5. Yeah, that Serb guy really cost us the game. Fg-Fga 3p-3pa Ft-Fta O D Tr Pf Tp As To Bl St Mn 13 CVETINOVIC, Nikola.. * 8-12 1-2 4-6 4 3 7 3 21 4 4 1 1 36
  6. I'm not blaming Nitro for the loss. It was just one play. I still think the #1 problem this team has to overcome, is turnovers. Last night there was a stretch in the second half where we turned it over at an alarming rate. We had a 10 point lead and we were able to maintain it because we made some good stops on defense. If we hadn't thrown the ball away on silly mistakes on in bounds plays and lazy ball handling we could have extended our lead. Instead of our opponent having to make up a 9 point deficit like last night, it should have been a 20 point lead if we take care of the ball.
  7. It looks like Nitro left his man to double Burgess and that was the ballgame. If he had stuck with his guy, Burgess would have had to force up a shot over Zeke.
  8. If this team learns how to avoid turnovers, we win. We gave up 25 points on 20 turnovers, 10 of which were on inbounds plays. Hopefully when Rico gets to 100%, this number will go down. Take away the stupid turnovers and we win last night's game with ease.
  9. Ou hasn't played anybody other than UL that has any decent big guys. It will be interesting to see how we defend Cooper. If we contain him, the Zips win with ease. I would think that Q will be all over Cooper.
  10. Steve is a volunteer coach now and I've seen Bardo at practices this year.
  11. Not a problem, I'm stuck at the office because corporate thinks we are "productive" on days surrounding a holiday. The guy I work for is entirely too smart for that type of thinking. My boss gave me the whole week off! He must be brilliant.
  12. Faust won big at Moeller because he was able to recruit the best HS players from 3 states. Once he had some actual competition in recruiting and talent, he couldn't win. Apples and oranges.
  13. I'm hiring, it looks like you're qualified. Do you need a job?
  14. It was on the board 30 seconds after I got the go ahead. Finally a grown up running the football program!
  15. Excellent job by TW. Bowden is just what the doctor ordered for a Zips program that was on its death bed. I'm pumped.
  16. No offense to Green, but honestly, I hope he transfers out and opens up a scholly for us. He just doesn't fit our new-found athletic style. Bring in a JUCO C/5 to back up Zeke. Someone has to leave just to be able to have three scholarships available for next season. KD has been sending Green a message all season with letting the walk ons into the game before him.
  17. Patience grasshopper. All I can do is pass on whats been told to me in the last few minutes. If I'm wrong, I will man up and admit it. I don't think I'm wrong.
  18. From the best source possible. Terry Bowden will be the next head coach.
  19. Dick Tressel?
  20. If the dining is as bad as I felt like it was 30 years ago, I wouldn't consider that a "perk". The food is nothing like it was years ago Skip. When I did a campus tour with my daughter this fall, I was really impressed by the quality and variety of food offered at the dining halls.
  21. Thanks for clearing that up ZW.
  22. Or you never intended to hire Winters anyway.
  23. Abreu looked pretty good walking around for a guy who had knee surgery yesterday. During the post game show KD said he didn't expect Rico back for the VCU game. I hope he's wrong. We did a much better job on turnovers tonite, only committing 9 and forcing 19. Quincy only had one turnover and 7 assists for his best performance at the point to date.
  24. I hope the members of the committee are not the same people who sat on the Coach I committee. Unfortunately, nobody on the committee has probably heard of Ludwig von Mises and the three elements necessary for change. A person must experience all three before making a change. 1. Uneasiness with the current state of affairs. 2. A vision of a better state. 3. A belief that a better state is achievable. Before making Paul an offer, the committe/TW should have known the answers to these points. Was Paul uneasy with his current situation? I would tend to say no based upon the available information because WSU just played for the national championship. Given Paul's age, some discussion with him should have focused on his age and ability to make a leap/take a risk at this point in his life. The older someone gets, the more risk averse they become. Not scoring on point 1 is enough to not close a deal. However, is the vision of a better state UofA football coming off two 1-11 seasons and an Athletic Department with TW at the helm? My personal opinion is no, but others are free to argue. Strikes 1 and 2 now have happened. A belief that a better state is achievable. With TW as the AD? I would say no. It doesn't matter though because Paul was never uneasy with his current situation. Everyone thinks TW should have been able to easily "close the deal" with Paul. Nonsense. Even if TW is a good deal closer, von Mises would tell us there was no way Paul was going to accept the position. The best way to close a deal is to guide a person in a direction that creates points 1,2 and 3 to happen in the mind of the decision maker. That's what the best of the best salesmen do. Make them realize for themselves the change is necessary. Timing has to be right when closing a deal. It wasn't the right time for Paul so the timing was off. I told you guys weeks ago, I should be on the hiring committee. They need someone who understands Ludwig von Mises. Excellent analysis GP1.
