Darn, there were only 3 trombones last night! Still sounded great though.

Who is going to be on the search committee for our new HC? Seeing how things went last time, do you want TW to have the final say? I know there is a lot of speculation about who we should hire, but I think this decision about the makeup of the committee is the key to a good hire. Quite a few ZN.O members want Jim Tressel as the coach, but I'm not sure he would be interested. With that said, I would love to see him as the head of the search committee. He has quite a good track record of hiring good assistant coaches, many of whom have moved on and become successful BCS head coaches. What do you think?

I'm looking forward to hearing the band play tonight. I hope they play like they always do, because its very entertaining. I love the Trombone. Being a former Trumpet player, I wish I had learned to play the Trombone. I don't go the games to have a conversation with the people seated next to me, I'm there for the game. You know, the whole event. The cheerleaders, the band, the dance team, the silly contests....... Oh yea, I almost forgot the basketball part.

I've been busy this morning. I took my sons to the shooting range. After yesterday, we needed to get some frustration out. I agree about leaving politics out of sports. Now back to your regular programming.

The one they built in Green on Massillon Rd is fantastic. The intersection at Steese Rd was a major bottleneck and now there is never a backup there in any direction. Its really a simple concept. All you have to do is yield to any traffic coming from the left that is already in the roundabout. Most of the time you just drive straight through without having to stop at all. A great concept after you see it in action.

I heard Urban Meyer might be available.

Does anyone know if we received any love from the ESPN commentators during this game? I've got it dvr'd & I'm planning on watching it sometime today. Yes, the Zips were mentioned several times during the game. Mostly along the lines of how Miss. St. wasn't ready for us and "Our rangy 7 foot center" who controlled the paint. BTW, I wasn't impressed with either team last night. I think the Zips would have beaten A&M by 20.

Would these guys be on scholarship? Is there a limit to the # of scholarships you can offer each season? If so, you would have some problems the next year when you could have too many players leaving and not enough scholarships available to replace them.

The real story of those CSU teams of the 80's, was how the HC kept things together while smoking crack and hanging out with Ho's all day long.

It looks like we are going to have a 50% increase in paid attendance this season. Anyone who has actually attended a game this year can verify that those sales figures do not accurately reflect the actual number of people at the game. I would guesstimate that someone is paying for 8-10 K seats per game. If that is true there should be about $ 400-500k per season in income generated from those sales. I propose that we use that to buy out Ianellos contract. I would rather take my chances on not meeting the 15k attendance requirement. If we can get a decent coach, the ticket sales will take care of themselves.

All I can say is WOW! When the homer announcers said the Zips were the more athletic team, I had to rewind the DVR just to hear it again. Great way to start the season.
