  1. The real story of those CSU teams of the 80's, was how the HC kept things together while smoking crack and hanging out with Ho's all day long.
  2. It looks like we are going to have a 50% increase in paid attendance this season. Anyone who has actually attended a game this year can verify that those sales figures do not accurately reflect the actual number of people at the game. I would guesstimate that someone is paying for 8-10 K seats per game. If that is true there should be about $ 400-500k per season in income generated from those sales. I propose that we use that to buy out Ianellos contract. I would rather take my chances on not meeting the 15k attendance requirement. If we can get a decent coach, the ticket sales will take care of themselves.
  3. Mr. Getsy sure did liven things up at Lot 9 yesterday!
  4. Doug, Stop giving away Dave's secrets!
  5. All I can say is WOW! When the homer announcers said the Zips were the more athletic team, I had to rewind the DVR just to hear it again. Great way to start the season.
  6. Biggest regular season win for the Zips...EVER!
  7. Makes those OSU players "Illegal" tats look pretty silly right now.
  8. Zach, you have just described your personna on this board to perfection. Everytime I make a post on ZN.O, I use spell check. The spell check always wants me to change your name to Schlep. How appropriate. Why don't you find a new windmill to flail at.
  9. I have no idea but I'll take 1 of those passes!
  10. I think the only way for a quick fix is to emulate Can't state basketball. Hire a coach who will use every means at his disposal to move the program forward. Recruit every malcontent, criminal, bad attitude player out there with talent and as Al Davis used to say, "Just win Baby".
  11. My daughter is Post Secondary student at UA. She is taking a Freshman level english composition class. She had to write a paper about an event in her life that she felt has shaped her as a person. When she got back the first draft from the professor, there were a few corrections that needed to be made in regards to the composition of the paper. That was to be expected. What was disturbing was the lengthy note from the professor regarding the topic of the paper. The professor scolded her for her view points and called her immature in her thought process. She then told her that she was in a similar situation and that my daughter was wrong in how she handled it. This is where the professor crossed the line. It's not her job to dictate her morals on my kid. The class is about learning how to compose the written word, not a referendum on my daughters personal beliefs. If Professor Pino is able to just stick to teaching the "facts" so to speak that is fine. I seriously doubt that someone who is as passionate as he is is capable of keeping his political agenda out of the classroom. My kid isn't attending college for political indoctrination.
  12. My problem with that is that it is an option play. It should not be. You want to know why? Because you could lose a winnable game by one point. Exhibit AI agree. Down 20-6, 3rd quarter, how is going for two even remotely under consideration? Who's responsible for that option even being in the playbook? Who?I'm guessing the CMU coach studied tape on the Zips, and suckered us into the botched attempt.Again, thats the problem. It MUST be his call. Its the attention to the small details that is the difference between winning and losing. The special teams players line up together at the 50 Yd line before each extra point. All that has to happen is for the coach to access the situation and advise the holder as to what play to run. When there is no advantage to trying for 2, he is told to kick the point no matter how the other team lines up. End of controversy.
  13. Combining Mission Impossible with Batman is TV genius! Can't wait to see Player X (and the rest of the Zip alphabet) this year!I'm thinking more likely it was player Z.
  14. I employ quite a few 19 year olds, but I don't let them make decisions that might effect my future employment. It's called situational awareness. You don't go for 2 when 1 is appropriate considering the circumstances. I guess it's not surprising from a coach who attempts a field goal when down by 3 touchdowns late in the 4th Qtr.
  15. So was Custer. I'd rather take my chances in OT at home.
  16. The entire game is determined by 18-23 year olds. All players are called upon to make calls based on how they are coached. The decision to use the wacky formation shift is what should be questioned. We agree then, the coaches should decide whether the team goes for a 2pt conversion, not the players.
  17. PN7 isn't the starting QB.
  18. I just wish we could line up in a normal extra point formation and kick them through on a regular basis. Leaving the decision about whether we go for 2 points or 1 point up to a 19 year old doesn't make much sense to me. If we had just played it straight, we win 24-23 with no drama needed.
  19. I heard they were hiring freelance writers over at the Onion.
  20. Miami U. Suspends Player From Basketball Team
  21. It looks like the NCAA is starting to rethink some of their rules.NCAA pushes $2K increase for athletes
  22. A really interesting take from the Canton Reps Todd Porter on Sunday.Sunday Special: Time for MAC to step up and recruit Stark Green High School has 2 players who could play in the MAC. One of them(6'5" receiver) has been offered by 2 MAC programs, but Ianello has never set foot on Greens Campus. Want to put fans into the seats at the Info? Recruiting local players would be a good first step.
  23. I went all optimist this week. Zips by 14!
  24. As much as I would love to see a new arena...
