At least its only a Miniscus and not an ACLor PCL. I've had a torn Miniscus and although it was painfull it didn't structurally make it impossible to walk. 4 weeks recovery seems about right. I guess we will see what Bardo is made of now.

May karma bring you your dream home, on a very very nice private and scenic piece of land, after a life of hard work, and personal dedication to find it and work on it and to get it just the way you love it, and a few days after you have retired there, you will open a letter from the local government informing you that you need to accept the price offered to you for it because a new shopping mall will be moving in because the old one at the old location just isn't good enough to serve the 'greater good' of your community.Afterall, your life and your dreams and your property rights all must bow the the multitudes of people who want their starbucks and coldstone creamery.Like comparing apples and oranges in this case. These propeties are a bunch of run down shit holes. The buisnesses would be wise to reinvest nearby because lots of people will be checking out the new stadium in the next few years. The thing is that these people aren't going to be interested in some beer soaked shithole, they will flock to new and clean though. Manny should build a new place across the street.Apples and Oranges to you... it's still fruit no matter how you slice it. The fruit being the fact that someone else's subjective judgement decides whether you get to keep what you own.I guess this is where you and I disagree. As a buisness owner I would look at it as an opportunity to move up in life.

Finally some sane posts on this thread. Esp. the part about what a true "Bracket Buster" would look like. Along the same lines, I would rather see us get a home game against one of the BCS lesser knowns, who will get into the postseason based only on pedigree.

Earlier in the season ZW said he thought Nate Linhart was our MVP. I Agree. I would hate to see where this team would be at without Linhart. He has been our most consistant player in all aspects of the game this year. I would dare to say if his shot was more consistant he would be NBA material at the 2 guard. He has the ability to cover smaller faster guards as well as bigger forwards. For a 6-7 guy he has above average ball handling skills. He is my MVP.

11 & 12 year olds are what I am hearing.

Compared to Hipsher, KD is very patient. Was lasts nights game one to remember> NO. A week from now you won't even remember.

KD said on the post game show that it was his fault that B McNight played so poorly. It seems that with J Wood out they rode him too hard in practice the last 2 days. They were using him in the post during practice. They even had a practice yesterday and KD said Brett legs were gone.

Not suprised, but Akron GETTING ABUSED!!!
Hilltopper replied to Zip90's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
I have it recorded on my DVR. If I can figure out how to make it work I will post the final few seconds on here. It looked to me like Mincy threw a punch at Quade. -
The University is trying to get more students to the games. I know that for the OU game they gave free pretzels to the first 500 students and they also are sending the ROO Express buses to all the dorms and frat houses to provide free transportation to the JAR.

I'm not ready to call him our "Best Balhandler" just yet, but he is only a Freshman and has only played in 15 games to this point. I see ALOT of potential in this kid. The greatest attribute that KD has as a coach is the ability to get improvement from his players. Just let McNees get some more games under his belt.

I thought OU gave us their best shot and we were still able to get the W. The Bobcats put on quite a defensive performance to make the game so close. Good win Zips!

I haven't had a chance to look at the box score -- at least there should be a box score, unlike rosters, which didn't exist at the game today -- but my rough count was five catches by Jabari out of seven times the ball was thrown his way. The first ball was over his head, and the last one was high, off his fingertips. The strange thing -- not sure what was up -- but the stadium PA announcer called his name for recovering a fumble by the Kai (West) team. I don't think he was playing defense, but who knows?Did anyone see the game -- and my sign? I think I got on Versus midway through the second quarter, as the cameraman came right up to me in the front row. I have to say, this was the most fun I've ever had at a football game. The crowd was an average Can't State size, maybe 6-8 thousand. And most everyone around me had a relative playing in the game! We all had a ball interacting with the players in front of us. However, this may well be the final Hula Bowl game, as the size of recent crowds is MAC-sized, and little sponsor $$ seems to exist. Beside no rosters, there was NO halftime show. I've never been to any FB game without ANY halftime show, and the Hula Bowl always used to have a great presentation at the half. No more. Also, the jerseys must be used from previous years, as the numbers were washed out. The '5' in Jabari's '85' was barely legible on his back. This is actually my favorite game, ahead of the Pro Bowl, but it may not be around much longer. Shame.Arthur was the leading reciever for the East squad, 5 receptions for 88 yds. There is a nice photo in the Honalulu paper.http://starbulletin.com/2008/01/13/sports/story07.html

I think a more realistic scenario is they don't know what they are doing, or they don't have a real grasp of what players have done.As far as them eventually getting in, former NFL Zips should be the first in line. Especially if they have graduated. In almost every case, NFL experience is an indication of the quality of a player. There is no defense for John not getting in yet.Maybe you could give them a call or send them a letter outlining your concerns. I remember Buddenberg as an outstanding player also and I'm sure he deserves consideration. Most of the members are older, but I don't think they lack a grasp of Zips sports history. You could always volunteer your services to the nominating commitee and that would give you some insight into the selection process.

Outstanding post GZ. There is more than one way to skin a cat.

I believe that Memorial Hall is scheduled to be torn down soon.

This news just in: Apparently the Dayton game has been cancelled by coach Dambrot. I guess he was watching ESPN2 today, and determined that playing a team of Dayton's caliber just didn't fit into his scheduling strategy of staying in the bottom-50 of RPI. I understand we will play Tiffin instead. Looks like CMU beat us to the punch. http://www.sportsline.com/collegebasketbal...0071229_TIF@CMI

Dude, You never cease to amaze me! My kids read this board, I hope you are kidding about this? -
Here's probably where our fundamental difference of opinion lies. You're looking at this as 30 (really it's 21) years of frustration since the last NCAA birth .. or maybe you're looking back to the last deep run in the College Division. Understandable .. if I had seen Wyatt Webb's teams play .. I might feel the same long term pressure .. but I've only got about 25 years of Zips watching. My view is this: This is not the same as 18 years ago .. it's not the same as 10 years ago .. and it's not the same as 5 years ago. We can NOT consider this year 21 of the rebuilding process .. or year 30 .. or whatever. I think we can only look at the program in it's current form: KD as head coach. This is year 4 of a program build under KD. He wasn't head coach in 1993, or 2003 .. he's the head coach now, and I think the program now is what we have to look at:2004-05: 19-10 overall, 11-7 in Conference, First Conf. Tourney win2005-06: 23-10 overall, 14-4 in Conference, Reached Conf Semis, 1-1 in the NIT2006-07: 25-7 Overall, 13-3 in Conference, Reached Conf. Tourney Finals.2007-08: 5-1 record thus far.I choose to consider the program's progress on these items alone .. not the 19 years of futility that preceded them. We're not going to wake up tomorrow and be a top 15 team that can demand reasonable game terms from other elite teams. But if we're patient, and support the team, coaches & program adequately, we WILL wake up a few years from now in that situation. This is going to take a little bit. We have to have some continuous improvement and the program will eventually be able to win year after year. JWood is the last player that remembers what it was like before .. and it either motivates him, or he's left it behind. Either way .. only now can you really say that every aspect of the program has KD's mark.I for one am good with what I see .. ZW, I agree with you on this approach. It would be interesting to see the history of how Gonzaga made itself into a mid-major power. Did they play all the big west coast programs and take thier lickings or was it a process similar to what KD is doing right now.

How about it GP?

I hope you are right about the modest charge for seat licenseing. My gut tells me that it will be a onetime charge in addition to the ongoing donation required to the Z scholarship fund. I would expect that prime seats(NOT Club) would be in the range of $200-$500 ea. For Club or other levels alot more.
-
I was assured that season ticket holders will get priority choices. How tenured you are as a season ticket holder will also play a part. With the longest tenured ticket holders getting the earliest selections. Considering the miniscule number of season ticket holders, anyone wanting season tickets at the new stadium can easily become a season ticket holder next season and still get a prime selection of seats.I would expect that the best seats will also have a "Seat License" that must be paid in addition to the cost of the seats. I have been a season ticket holder for 37 years, so I would hope that would give me a good chance at great seats, but I'm not sure I will be able to afford this extra charge for 5 seats.

I can verify that Wagner was the scout team QB.
