  1. We need shooters. This year we are shooting 32% on three's,compared to last year at 38%. We get lots of open looks from the three point line. If we made more it would open things up inside. I agree with CK, Dambrot senses that the MAC is wide open this year so go for it!
  2. I wonder if burning McClanahan's redshirt was a planned event or a spur of the moment decision? Since it happened, it would be a shame if he didn't get decent floor time. I think we need another shooter on this team and I hope he can hit the open looks we are getting on offense.
  3. I get the feeling that Conyers is really emotionally fragile. It seems that when things start going downhill he just shuts down instead of turning it up a notch. KD keeps talking about how this team doesn't have the belief system that previous squads have possesed. I wonder who is the leader on the floor for this years team.
  4. I'm one of the unfortunate souls unable to tune in tonight. Can you say more specifically what was said about Steve Sweich? He said that Steve is a nice kid , but the coach needs to play his best players and Steve isn't one of them. I felt he was pretty blunt about it. So based on who has played when the games count, he is behind a couple of walk ons. My read on the answer, bolstered by being at a couple of practices is different than Hilltopper's.What Keith said was "Steve's a good kid .. has a great attitude (answering part of the question). He's working hard in practice, does what we're asking .. but I have to put my best team on the floor .. and right now .. that doesn't include Steve."I really don't think he inferred anything more than the current state of things .. and from asking him at a practice .. it's things that Steve is working through that will get him on the floor. Let's try not to put finality on a guy who hasn't cracked the lineup in the first 15 games of a 100+ game career. My take ..Go Zips! Thanks ZW for clarifying what KD said. I'm not ready to say he is a bust and I don't think KD is either. But the people on the board who are clamoring for more PT for Steve need to hear it from the coach. The coach says he is not ready for more PT and we should accept that.
  5. Answer: The coach isn't in charge of marketing. But he does have a Masters in the subject!
  6. Answer: Says we should be willing to try anything at this point. If we put our best defensive team out there we can't score and just the oppisite for our best offensive combination.
  7. Answer: Says the team still isn't mentally tough enough to withstand much adversity. Says we are a defensive minded team without an identity on offense. Hopes it comes with experience. Some of the younger guys have kinda hit the wall(Humpty).
  8. Answer: Basically no comment. appreciates what fans we have. Still working towards a bigger goal long range(New Arena)etc...
  9. Answer: Nick had a nice run of games earlier in the season . We had to sit him down for a while because he was letting his emotions get the better of him. We have been working on that with him. He's got alot of passion.
  10. Answer: I can't worry about next year or guys we don't have. We are trying to get things going on offense right now.
  11. Answer: We thought Ronnie had a medical setback. We took him to the doctor and everything is progressing OK, but he is not ready to return.
  12. Answer: Steve is a nice kid. The coach has to play his best players and Steve is not one of them.
  13. Answer: We have contacted CSU and they are not intrested.

  15. They asked KD every question. He answered them all. Things don't look good for Sweich.
  16. where did you find this? all the ones on gozips are tiny (totally weak on their part). But yeah, that pic shows whats going on there. They cant put up the bleachers over that part of the stands until they've built the remaining buildings for concessions, bathrooms, etc.I keep telling you guys I have my sources! This came from the same person who told me the tailgate area would be Buchtel Field.
  17. Another view.
  18. Barack Obama has publicly stated his support of legislation to outlaw the BCS and install a true D-1 playoff. I'm liking the guy more each day! http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/01/09/pol...ball/index.htmlObama raps Bowl Championship Series: 'We need a playoff' This is change I can believe in!
  19. Wyatt Webb was the coach when I first started attending Zips BB. Len paul was a senior. Harvey Glover and Nate Barnett. Later on the the Bates brothers. It was a different era. At Memorial Hall you could smell the chlorine sometimes from the pool below the main floor. Talk about a band box arena.
  20. Went to a sports bar in Lexington KY called Varsity Blue. At the bottom of each urinal they had affixed a picture of Rick Pitino's face.
  21. Skip, Ihave been a BB season ticket holder for over 35 years now. I know you want whats best for the team, but us old guys have to remember that we are dealing with a bunch of kids. These guys are just barely past teenagers. Life is too short to get all worked up. Take things one game at a time and you might have more fun.
  22. Thats what you need to work on Skip. Don't worry, be happy!
  23. Sure, the only thing I've taken issue with is GP1's dismissal of the progress that Dambrot has made here.Glad to hear I'm not alone.Happy New Year Everyone!Go Zips! The problem ZW, is that you never know which GP1 is posting. The thoughtful Zips fan or the forum troll.
