Maybe a two for deal.

John Groce will be the guest speaker at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Luncheon Club on Monday April 24th. He is replacing Keith Dambrot on the schedule.

Not sure how accurate that web page is. Kevin was on staff last year as were all the GA's listed. Eric Harper annouced this week that he was joining KD in Pittsburgh.

The landscape of recruiting has changed. Last time I looked there were over 400 names on the transfer list at verbalcommits.com. I'm sure Groce is not just sitting on his hands and is actively looking for more players. It's just going to take some time.

Good Lord. Would someone "in the know" please private message me and let me out of my misery?

I was hoping someone could tell me how many people were in attendance at the Meet and Greet event. I know at least a few of you guys were there since I already heard the Cookie Stories.
What difference does it make? It was a poorly publicized event on short notice.

Jimond is already on year 3 of his NCAA eligibility clock. If he were to transfer he would have to give up a year of playing time unless he was a grad transfer. Plus I really think he enjoys playing close to home.

Antino is not 5'8" "on a good day". He is a legit 5'11" or 6'. Every player with talent has a chance to play overseas regardless of what school they attended.

He wasn't playing worth a damn. That's why he wasn't playing.
You have no idea what you are talking about.

I don't think any incumbent player that wants to stay with the team is not welcome to stay.
I'm only referring to the kids who've expressed an interest in transferring, or graduating early. Groce is giving them, and their families, time take a step back and assess the situation before making a final decision.
I'm pretty sure we don't have any players in the position of graduating early.

To be fair to GT, he did spend a good ten minutes after the end of the broadcast conducting a private interwiew with Groce.

I have seen him play, just not in person. I don't ever see him being a key contributor nor am I much of a fan of players wanting to jump crap at the first sign of a little adversity.
So you know nothing.

Ok Groce, lets see what you've got as a recruiter. We need this guy!

I would have preferred he leave, if I am being honest.
What exactly are you baseing this opinion on? You have never even seen him play.

(saving my likes just in case we get a new coach today) 100% agree especially when a full scholarship is involved.
Smart move.

In another blast to my aging ego, I first saw Patrick Ewing at Copley High School in the All-American Cage Classic around 1980-81. Damn, I am old.
I was there too. Do you remember Ewing punching out Greg Dreiling in one of the preliminary games?

Okay sorry. I thought there was someone in the know that was pretty adamantly against it. Maybe I'm misremembering.
No problem.

So in the first couple days of this search there were a few posts basically saying no way to Groce. I think hilltopper may have been one.. I consider him pretty well connected so I'm just curious what the reasons against him are.
I never said that.

Goes to show that beating a lower-half "Power conference" team with an RPI similar to a MAC East team doesn't register enough to be remembered.
In case you hadn't noticed that team is in the final four this year
