I was laughing at how he was quick to want to bolt Akron with his boys Hughes and TDM to Duquesne only to later get booted from Akron and forced to play at a JUCO. There have been plenty of Zips that have dropped down to play at a lower level of competition and you can look at my post history, I never commented negatively towards any of them besides Dalton.

I guess I missed where he said anything about leaving after Dambrot left. He was at the press conference when Groce was introduced. I don't understand why people want to throw the past years players under the bus so fast. They were just pawns in a much bigger power play between Dambrot and Williams.

I am getting very very down on the whole redshirt thing. We give them a free year of school and never get a minute out of them.

Dalton was here on his own dime. UA didn't pay for anything. He was a walk-on.

This is looking good for next year. Maybe we will finally make a run in the MAC tournament and win a championship!   :champs:

He was an academic non-qualifier. He wasn't allowed to participate in any team activities. The same situation that Jimmond was in three years ago. It's a possibility he didn't make the grades needed to continue with the team. Spring semester grades posted yesterday.

Wasn't grades. Coaches decision I guess.

Look guys Groce is putting together a high scoring high flying electric team. so for the people on this thread stuck on the pass, get ready for a great season. get prepared to be MAC CHAMPIONS something kd couldn't do with that shitty style of play. so as for noah he is a great kid but we don't need him with that slow the game down crap. I believe the games this year will be entertaining and don't be surprise once mac season start we sell out the jar!!!!!!!!!

Did you ever consider the idea that all Noah was doing was executing the game plan given to him by the coaching staff?

As starved as we were for a big to spell Dog this past season, if this kid had a seat next to Ty Dalton he was apparently not an "early bloomer."

I thought he was a non-qualifier, but if he redshirted, his grades and test scores must have been fine?

It's a camp/boarding school for basketball players.  I DO know what's hard to understand.  I'm talking about going to a place like IMG Academy AFTER high school, instead of going to your freshman year of college.  Find me some examples of guys who are going that route.  Unless....like in his case....he wasn't getting any college offers.

Just trying to figure out this unusual story, my friend.   I'll stick with my assumption that guys don't skip college ball to go to a basketball school for a year, unless I see differently.

    IT'S NOT UNUSUAL!

Come on Skip! I know you are not that dense!:unsure2:

Student athletes opting to play extra year of high school sports instead of college

    Quote

The primary reason? Student-athletes and their families are aiming to land a college scholarship, and in some cases even improving on the one already offered. "I think all over the country right now there are kids and families that are hedging a bet that if another year they are involved in sports then all of a sudden that school that was interested may see a physically stronger kid or a particular school who doesn't know about the child because they participate for another year at the high school level all of a sudden makes it in," says Hurley
