  1. Stop taking 26 foot 3's and we are fine.
  2. Lots of Zips fans were sick that night too. The Abreu Flu.
  3. If there's one thing I appreciate, it's an informed, concise post.
  4. MTSU will curb-stomp Marshall.
  5. Hubba hubba to the blondes on the EMU dance team.
  6. Big Dog absolutely flattened EMU's Steel. The refs must have felt really bad about that Ivey T to swallow the whistle on that one.
  7. I think the key to the EMU game...the key to winning a MAC title...and the key to winning an NCAA tournament game comes down to KPP. K= Kwan. When he's completely on his game, he's a guy that people project could play in the NBA. When he's off, the Zips can lose to anyone. We need Kwan on the floor, competing. We don't need him with a towel over his face, slumped over in a chair at the end of the bench. Kwan needs to be mentally tough, and impact the game through defense and rebounding when his shot isn't falling. If he does, we dance. No one in the MAC can touch us. P = Poise. Just because the Zips offense is predicated on taking a lot of threes doesn't mean you have the green light to hoist 26 footers with reckless abandon. Pass up a good shot for a great shot, and we can't be beat. And at the end of tight games, play like a champion. The coaches need to draw up solid plays, and the guys need to execute them. No sloppy late-game play! P = Pace. The slower the Zips play, the easier they are to defend. Noah, Jimmond, Kwan and Antio play their best basketball when they're attacking. For Kwan, a faster pace means less thinking...he plays his best when he's not over-thinking. And, if you score before Big Dog makes it halfway up the court, you save him 46 x 2 feet of movement! This team has the chance to not only win tonight, but win an NCAA tourney game. Our bigs are P5 bigs. Looking at our roster, I don't know that we'll be able to say that again for a while. Go for the Gusto, Zips!! Let it all hang out and great things will happen!
  8. 2 fewer at 12:30 pm
  9. Happily right on Big Dog winning! Surprised about KD. Usually he doesn't win unless he's essentially perfect, and we stubbed our toe down the stretch. The kid from Akron done good! Now get to the Big Dance! I'll puke if I see any MAC team but the Zips whooping it up as the brackets are announced on Sunday night!
  10. Would Waters come to UA and assume a "Dan Peters" sort of role? THAT would be interesting.
  11. The icy hand of Mike Thomas claims it's first victim... Do you think he signed up for the CSU gig to keep the status quo? I expect a "splash" hire at CSU in the near future.
  12. I enjoyed reading Jason Arkley's thought process. I heard George Thomas' was a little more in-depth and complex. It involved Cheetos, and interpreting oil stains on a napkin.
  13. Congrats to Kwan!
  14. Solid bounce-back game for the Zips. Some key guys had off nights, and others picked up the slack. Zips needed to hit rock bottom to wake up, and the TEAM woke up tonight. Way to respond, Zips! Now take care of business at The Q and sport those Dancin' shoes!! You're the best team in the MAC! Time to strut your stuff!!
  15. I wish the UA employees responsible for the roster's accuracy cared as much about their job as UA Athletics wants Zips football fans to care about the team.
  16. I would only say - the person that created the roster list may be the same person who thinks Jerome Lane Jr. went to Pitt. FWIW - I spoke to a coach a couple weeks ago and asked him about Bell's status. He said he was "still a Zip."
  17. If we want to win more than Kent, we'll win. Kent's offense can't keep up with the Zips when we play to our capabilities. If we play uninspired and lazy, we'll lose. If we're down at the end, we'll probably lose. We haven't shown the poise to pull out a comeback win in a tight game (we won in spite of ourselves vs Ball State). We need a lead going into the final 2 minutes. If we're down, we're in trouble. I like our chances tonight. I think we hit rock-bottom against Miami, and sometimes you need that "that's all I can stands, I can't stands no more" wake-up call before you can turn things around. Zips 72 Kent 64
  18. Go Zips!! BTW - "Bowdum" is pretty hilarious . Not as hilarious as when you called Olijapoke a "Dopey Dope"...that was one your best....but still really hilarious. Beat Kent!
  19. I think Dambrot has a bunion too. Those are pain-FUL.
  20. Hey, I'm not the one that said 1/5. No more football talk in the hoops forum. I promise. I just made a 1-line comment for fun, and a few simple food-for-thought quips.
  21. 4/22 = 18.2% 1/5 = 20% Pretty much the same thing. Lose your starting QB...lose your starting PG...pretty much the same thing when you have MAC-level depth. Lose to "high mid-major" VCU by 44...lose to Cotton-Bowl bound WMU by 41...pretty much the same thing.
  22. Somewhere... Brock Boxen, Warren Ball, Tommy Woodson and Jamal Marcus are chuckling.
  23. Love UA Love the players Love the coach Hate that we are playing uninspired Hate that we're playing unintelligently Hate that we are playing soft That's not as visceral as some would like. It's not as cuddly and others would like. Oh well...can't please everyone.
