  1. You're right. It's probably the Chauncey Gilliam from Stow. Totally different.
  2. Chauncey may indeed be up sh!t creek. But at least he has a paddle.
  3. Big Dog bringing it tonight. Good to see.
  4. I wanted a pic of him next to this guy at the Michigan game, but it never worked out...
  5. Tonight is the night the Zips 6th Man is sorely needed. Please get liquored-up heavily prior to tonight's game, ZipsNation. From what I hear, BAC levels below 0.10 will be turned away at the gate. BAC the Zips!

  7. If we were at full strength, we'd still have lost at Buffalo. It's simply a Universal Constant. The Hipsher Curse. Call it what you will, but it's always an "L." Now it's off to the rest of the season... It should be a fun Saturday night. OU has experienced their fair share of injuries too.
  8. I can't wait for a UA athlete to get a DUI (or similar) so we can all give him a big group hug. There's really nothing better than losing starters to suspensions as we move towards tournament time. Just so we can hug 'em. Who cares about the team.
  9. Fear the Ewe
  10. The guy was our 2nd best player over the past 5-or-so games. He disappears from the line up and you chide a Zips fan for wondering "What happened?"? Are Zips followers supposed to be stupid sheep that blindly follow and support whatever happens at UA without so much as ever questioning "What happened?" when a star player is suspended? Gheez...Wyatt Webb isn't coaching any longer.
  11. http://haydengrover.com/home/i-am-hayden-grover-long-snapper-2014.html This guy. What's the story with him? His sweet web site still shows him as an Akron commit. But Blake "The Poet" Dennis got more love on Signing Day? Former Zip John Buddenberg's son was a walk on Fr. long-snapper last season. Wonder if he looked good enough for Bowden to send Grover back to Channel 45/49?
  12. The Zips have one player they can bank on night-in-night-out: Tree. After that, everyone's performance is a crap-shoot. Harney was actually stepping up, and then his personal Mr Hyde kicked in. We just don't have the experience and depth to overcome his loss when on the road, against a decent opponent. We have as good a shot as anyone at The Q. We may not be as talented as Toledo, but we own The Q. That's a big edge. If we make the NCAA's this season...VCU Part II. Different Zips season this year, that's for sure.
  13. The way Harney had been playing the past several games, I wish more Zips would be so detrimental to the team. Obie Kwan, you're our only hope.
  14. From a fan's perspective, at least the real fan's perspective, the Bracket Buster event was one of the best things to happen to Zips basketball scheduling. It allowed us to get home games vs. upper-echelon teams that otherwise would never have set foot in the state of Ohio. Loved seeing Nevada, VCU, Creighton, Oral Roberts etc at the JAR. Love the concept of the home-n-home 2-game series. Unfortunately, the Zips never took advantage of their Bracket Buster opportunities. We blew every chance to beat a "biggie" and grab some spotlight. Our Bracket Buster wins were never marquee ones: Oral Roberts sans Dominique Morrison, Creighton in an off-year, Valpo, some Dakota school, Drake? etc. I miss the Bracket Buster. Especially this year, when we'd likely be pitted against a mediocre Horizon League opponent, and get a win.

  18. My biggest concern with this class is the absence of WR's or RB's. I would love to have seen an impact RB that would push Chisholm. Like Biggs-Kennedy a few years ago. Likewise, we lacked a stud, game-breaking WR last season. The existing ones will need to step up. If we could pull in a BCS 5th year player at either or both of those positions I would feel a little more optimistic about the overall class. But I do like all the kids. TB did a nice job of addressing our most-urgent needs.
  19. I am looking into Dave's request with Invision.
  20. No one cared to pick up on this? I trust Zipmeister's info above all the other random garbage. Looking forward to seeing some assortment of Chase Lash (OL Massilon), Austin Cull (TE Beaver Creek), Marcelis Logan (RB Lexington Ky), Demetrius Suesberry (CB Winton Woods), Bolden and Clayton too.
  21. We needed to do the upgrade, as the old board was fast becoming non-functional. We will get this one up to speed, and it will ultimately be MUCH better than the old one, but it will take a little time. Board posts are down 87% because Dave has a home improvement project and cannot post.

  23. Anyone committing to the Zips with a #ZipsNation is ok in my book.
