  1. First time in ZN.o history someone has personally attacked themselves?
  2. As a fan, how can you like less Zips basketball and no Thursday afternoon games? I'm sitting at my desk at lunchtime when, for the past 11 years, I've been drinking a beer in Cleveland watching college hoops. Beyond that, the new format rewards the best overall teams, but penalizes those who may have been the best at the end of the regular season. As a coach, I guess I'd like the automatic bump to a Friday night game, rather than risking a Wednesday/Thursday loss to someone like Toledo. But as a fan, I like more basketball for my Zips. Column
  3. Dave? I consider that a personal attack. What did "X" ever do to you?
  4. Word on the street is the WWE is recruiting #21 as Greg "The Hammer" Valentine's replacement.
  5. WMU. They are proven chokers, and Stainrook looks funny. And it is always fun to watch K.e.n.t. lose.
  6. That would make sense, I guess.
  7. Wonder how this will affect everyone's 2012 football schedules? Do we need to give phone calls to whomever Temple's new BE opponents stiffed in order to put Temple on their 2012 schedule? This late in the game, I don't see many other alternatives. Maybe the MAC schools could pick up 1-AA programs, but paying them to travel to your home stadium would pretty much waste the $500,000 "windfall" everyone just received. I see YSU on our schedule due to the extrodinary circumstances.
  8. Looks like Paninin's may be the near-by fall back? Or maybe a return trip to the Cadillac Ranch...the kids loved the mechanical bull.
  9. He'll be an Oakland Raider in about 4 weeks, not a Zip.
  10. I agree. This year's schedule gave us a chance at an at-large bid, and kept us in the national at-large discussion into late-February. Next season we should have CSU, Marshall, Creighton and Oral Roberts at home. Maybe ORU in 2013-14, but we'll see. Regardless, the neutral court games in Puerto Rico, plus the high-mid-majors @ home, give us a great shot at breaking through the glass ceiling next year. But we still have 5 or 6 games left in 2011-12 before we need to contemplate the distant future.
  11. He also would pick Harney over Q and Tree for 6th Man. Pretty much confirms he saw the Zips once this season...@ BG.
  12. He finished 2nd. Not 13th.
  13. He's hustled his ass off all season. With knee surgery in late-December, he returned to action ahead of schedule so the Zips had a shot at beating VCU...we had absolutely no chance without him. He's a solid 3-point shooter, and always comes up with big steals. Abreu has been been a warrior all season. I've only gained respect for his game as the season's progressed.
  14. I agree. Screw those who poo poo the importance of post season All MAC Tailgating Teams. I'll put our ALL MAC 1st Teamers' up against any of those BCS Tailgating punks with their $500,000 Winnebegos and store-bought corn hole boards!
  15. My advice - Resist temptation and start with 12oz curls. Don't jump straight into the 23 ouncers.
  16. Ziegler and Stainrook 1st Teamers? I bet the 2nd Team would beat the 1st Team in: 9-out-of-10.
  17. I hear he has been working hard on his 6-pack abs?
  18. "STO/MAC"? Sounds like a marketing opportunity for Tums or Pepsid?
  19. Are entrance fees of boxes of Mac-n-Cheese and used $1 scratch off lottery tickets over? Just curious. Cheap-ass, relative, 1-day-per-year Zips fans are asking me.
  20. Yeah, that propane injury set him back. I think the only good move Ianello made his entire tenure was deciding to redshirt ZipsWin! in 2011. I don't want to sound like a stalker, but I have seen ZipsWin! at BW-3's several times over the winter, usually before basketball games, and he appears to be rehabbing hard. I predict not only will he tailgate in 2012...I say he earns his scholarship back!!
  21. Bowden may have lost Wagner, which is a blow to the Zips defense for 2012. But he kept Keener in the fold, which is the key to quality tailgating in 2012. Thank you Coach Bowden!
  22. The Zips are a great fast break team, and a bad half-court offensive team. When we play hard-nose D we get stops, and fast break opportunities. When we play lazy D, the opponent makes shots, and has time to get back. It makes all the difference in the world when we're in the opponent's grill on the perimeter, and Zeke is being disruptive in the paint. D is the key.
  23. Coached by Keith Dambro
  24. Depends on where you're from...
