  1. Weak? Wasn't BG something like 6-1 at home, coming off a win vs. OU. Didn't they beat Temple this season? The same Temple that beat Duke? It really surprises me how many people are poo-pooing a 2-0 start to MAC play, winning back-to-back on the road. We've won 7 of our last 8 games. The lone loss being a buzzer-beater to VCU. Things could be worse.
  2. Does Cventinovic get 25 tonight? He should. No one wants to guard him.
  3. Wow...he's lapped the immortal David Lee Morgan already?
  4. Whoops. I blame my OU-grad cousin... sold me some bad weed.
  5. A venue worthy of the Program is what we need. One that creates a good home-court advantage, and one where your wife doesn't have to spend her Saturday night sitting on a wooden bench. If beer was served, that would also help.
  6. Can we make the presumption that dilapidated and ill-designed facilities will repel people? The myth that InfoCision was a mistake is simply that...a fabrication of the short-sighted. Had we hired a good football coach, InfoCision would be drawing a real 20,000 paying fans per season. But we hired a horrific coach, and drew flies. A horrific coach hire doesn't mean the new stadium is at fault any more than punching yourself in the face is your face's fault.
  7. Even Louis Orr thinks they're on the road? Maybe we should call their AD? I think taking a forfeit would not be good sportsmanship.
  8. Guess we gotta beat BG and OU to make some headway? Interesting that Marshall is nowhere to be found. Update
  9. We are winning.
  10. Just remember one simple rule on ZipsNation -- You can't out-type Dave. No one can. Once you come to terms with that, the rest is gravy.
  11. 5 consecutive berths in the MAC championship game. 2 NCAA's in those 5 years. 20+ wins for 7 seasons? I trust that Dambrot knows what he's doing. Also - Guys like Tree and Harney are definitely the future of Zips basketball. But they f'd up and cost the team some early-season wins. It would send a bad message to give those guys 30min/game right off the bat, at the expense of seniors who've built the program, and been through the wars. A balance will develop over the next several games. KD gets paid to win, and when all is said and done, the best team will be fielded.
  12. Ianello could EASILY have won 6-8 games over the past 2 seasons if he weren't such a horrific game day manager. If Bowden can do the following, the Zips should win 3-4 games in 2012, and have a fighting chance at .500 in year #2: 1.) Kick-off once per half 2.) Try for a TD (not a FG) when he's inside an opponent's 20, with 30 seconds remaining in the half, and 3 time outs in his pocket 3.) Kick an extra point when he's down 20-6 in the 3rd quarter 4.) Push a 4th quarter home game into OT with an XP when he's down 1pt, with 0:00 on the game clock 5.) Hold an opponent behind the 40 yard line on a kickoff once in a while 6.) Try to win games every Saturday, instead of obsessing on negligible steps within a "process" 7.) When down 3 scores in the 4th quarter, DON'T kick a field goal that maintains the 3-score deficit 8.) Try to beat BCS teams, and not simply run clock and take a paycheck 9.) Inject energy into the fans and team 10.) Openly care about beating K.e.n.t, and getting our Wagon Wheel back Only being on campus only a few weeks, he's already knocked-off a couple of these. Based upon his background, I think the remaining items would be taken care of with ease.
  13. As I scan this thread, it becomes very apparent that UA's College of Fashion Design should not search for alumni here.
  14. If I sign up a boll weevil for the NFL draft, does it automatically have pro potential?
  15. I await the new poll with baited breath.
  16. We just beat Miami and Marshall on the road, so I contend we are extremely tough to beat today. My hopes for another quality Bracket Buster opponent are rising in direct proportion to Harney's minutes.
  17. It would be cool if he were in your foursome.
  18. Nice to have a team where our star 7-footer goes for 2 points/0rebs and we still win by 5, on the road, against a solid opponent. If Mavunga had those numbers, Miami would have lost by 26.
  19. Good call. EMU 47 NIU 40
  20. I agree. The level of information and insight has really made a positive turn in the past few weeks. It's fun to have fun again.
  21. But not the Zips.
  22. K.e.n.t. took Abe Elam for 1 season, so I wouldn't expect any grief from their 4 fans.
  23. I agree. Egner's not getting any meaningful minutes as long and Harney/Nik/Tree/Zeke are good-to-go. Josh seems to be a tweener...not enough offensive skills to be a 3/4, and not enough strength to get appreciable minutes at the 5. Ibitayo has improved. KD seems to have given him the green-light to shoot, regardless of the situation. And that's given Deji some confidence that other, higher-strung coaches probably wouldn't have gotten out of him. But he's still not ready for 10mpg.
  24. Admitted? Bizarre stuff.
  25. Since the thread title is "Offense/QB" I can officially wonder what Rossi's role will be with the new scheme. UNA appears to use single-back sets, which doesn't bode well for a fullback looking for touches. We need LB's B-A-D. If Chisholm proves he's back to what we saw the first 2/3's of last season, I'd have to imagine Rossi and Alexander would help our cause MUCH more at LB than in the offensive backfield. If Chisholm isn't the guy we saw the 1st 2/3's of last season, then give Alexander the rock. I would love to see what he could do with 20 carries/game.
