  1. It would be cool if he were in your foursome.
  2. Nice to have a team where our star 7-footer goes for 2 points/0rebs and we still win by 5, on the road, against a solid opponent. If Mavunga had those numbers, Miami would have lost by 26.
  3. Good call. EMU 47 NIU 40
  4. I agree. The level of information and insight has really made a positive turn in the past few weeks. It's fun to have fun again.
  5. But not the Zips.
  6. K.e.n.t. took Abe Elam for 1 season, so I wouldn't expect any grief from their 4 fans.
  7. I agree. Egner's not getting any meaningful minutes as long and Harney/Nik/Tree/Zeke are good-to-go. Josh seems to be a tweener...not enough offensive skills to be a 3/4, and not enough strength to get appreciable minutes at the 5. Ibitayo has improved. KD seems to have given him the green-light to shoot, regardless of the situation. And that's given Deji some confidence that other, higher-strung coaches probably wouldn't have gotten out of him. But he's still not ready for 10mpg.
  8. Admitted? Bizarre stuff.
  9. Since the thread title is "Offense/QB" I can officially wonder what Rossi's role will be with the new scheme. UNA appears to use single-back sets, which doesn't bode well for a fullback looking for touches. We need LB's B-A-D. If Chisholm proves he's back to what we saw the first 2/3's of last season, I'd have to imagine Rossi and Alexander would help our cause MUCH more at LB than in the offensive backfield. If Chisholm isn't the guy we saw the 1st 2/3's of last season, then give Alexander the rock. I would love to see what he could do with 20 carries/game.
  10. I predict you will have trouble with the feed...
  11. Maybe we should win a conference game before the BCS Bowl talk begins?
  12. Payne is not eligible to play basketball for an Ohio High School this season. He seems like a big-time prima donna.
  13. Very true. Last season, the Zips didn't come close to matching OU's intensity. OU approached the games like the Zips typically approaches K.e.n.t. The Zips need to develop some of the bad-ass swagger that OU, albeit inconsistently, brings to the table.
  14. I have the same level of gut-feeling that Caleb Porter is a very good soccer coach.
  15. Good luck vs. North Auburn this season.
  16. At this point I would expect Tommy Dub to receive the vote of confidence every coach needs to convince recruits about the trajectory of the program. i.e., I expect him to receive a contract extension if his current deal is running out. What other Akron AD has won a national championship and solidified (even if belatedly) every major sport, especially soccer? There's a difference between being born on 3rd base, and hitting a triple.
  17. I thought the question marks were a dead givaway? From the coach's show tonight, it appears Abreu has a fighting chance to play vs. VCU. The omission of any reference to Harney's availability makes me believe he will still not be playing. And, K.e.n.t. appears to still suck.
  18. Harney back for VCU? Abreu progressing? K.e.n.t. starting to unravel. Out.
  19. Same to you, Lee. And all other members. From Summit County, to Hawaii to the Middle East and everywhere in-between, Happy Holidays to all the folks who've made this the go-to web site for Zips Athletics discussion and news. I'm grateful.
  20. To the relief of many, I will cease beating on Wistercill. I'm excited about basketball season, and have reason for football excitement for the first time in 3 years. The incessant shilling-for, or beating-down Wistercill should have run it's couse for now. Both sides have stated their views at-length, and nothing fresh is presentable at this time. It is time to focus on the teams and their respective seasons. Lots of good stuff going down on the hardwood and the gridiron in early 2012. Final Four opponent at the JAR Thursday evening, and a Bowden wearing Zips gear on the recruiting trail as we speak.
  21. I am 6 foot tall. I can't throw a 40 yard pass, nor is my last name Moore. I can't play D-1 QB. Clayton Moore is a lousy QB. People can want him to be a good QB as much as they want Wistercill to be a good AD, but at the end of the day, you want it to be one way, but it's the other. Clayton Moore had more balls swatted back in his face in 2011 than Terry Pluto's favorite all-male gang bang porn. Is there a statistics specialist on ZN.o that can summon his stats from 2011? I bet they are pretty telling. Amazing that anyone can compare Kellen Moore to Clayton Moore. Why not throw Mary Tyler Moore in the fray too?
  22. Agree 100%. If the new staff can get Price to hold on to the ball, we'll have three really good WR's.
  23. Unfortunately, like a lot of my college buddies, I haven't seen Dave in almost 20 years. If I do see him on-campus, I will certainly be a responsible ZipsNation member and pose the appropriate questions. And I agree that Snowball would have a place on the Zips. Maybe only special teams...but he's a tough kid and a winner. He's the type of player we need on our team beginning next season.
  24. I think 3 is very possible. If Iannello weren't such a mess on game days, he would have won 3 games last season. Good coaching, good game day strategy and a MAC schedule should give us 3 wins.
  25. If Abreu can play at 70% or better, we have a good chance at a win. If Abreu and Harney are back, at 70%+ and [100%- a little rust] respectively, we should win the game.
