We put up 47 points and earned a 'W' on crappy turf once this year. Wash, rinse, repeat. Utah State is 2-9 all-time on Smurf Turf, 1-2 in the Potato Bowl. This team needed to go bowling and we're doing just that. Congrats Zips!

The Administration and Athletics are the ones who should be out there promoting the story - internally (incenting the Rowdies and other students) and externally (Joe Akron soccer fans). I'd take Akron in Detroit against NC State in a heartbeat. My eyes cross watching football on blue (or gray) turf and Sun Belt teams don't do anything for me (no offense South Alabama). Detroit is also an easy drive for local Zip fans.

I was standing on the west side of the field just to the north of the goal so I had a pretty good look at Sepe's 'goal.' I thought the yellow card was a good call as, IMHO, Sepe did seem to intentionally attempt to 'influence' the ball with his arm. but Second-half pressure was awesome. SMU began to look a little weary while our guys looked to be very-well conditioned and continued to make strong runs.

I sure appreciate our soccer-only facility. An NC player tried to place the ball prior to a corner kick and the ball kept rolling back to him. The NC field in general looks a bit ragged/tired. Our field, even in late November, looks great.
