I know some on the board question Dambrot's recruiting, scheduling, game decisions, whatever ... I love the guy and I'm glad he's here. The Crawford and Hipsher years just plain SUCKED and I like the direction we're headed. Nobody's perfect but it just seems to me that an Akron guy who WANTS to be at Akron has Akron doing good things the right way. Great job so far Keith. Go Zips!

Ah, yes. The University of California Berkeley at Can't ...Sounds like working our shot clock a bit to help limit the number of UMass possessions may help a bit. No doubt our shooting has to be on. If we can get our inside out game working, we should at least get some decent looks at the basket inside and outside ... can we MAKE them is the question. I'm sure that's what he meant. They fly out of Columbus and offer GREAT fares IF you can get them early enough. They're probably going to be closer to everyone else on the cost of fares on such short notice. Worth a shot anyway.

I had VCU going quite a ways in my NIT bracket. Nice run to get back into it last night but ran out of magic. Looking forward to the return game next year.

WMU coach Steve Hawkins does seem to work the officials a fair amount during a game. I doubt he's pointing out how Reitz lowers his shoulder to clear space and rarely gets called for it. I know Hawkins burned a lot of time during timeouts against Akron in the MAC tourney pleading his case to the officials. Haven't followed WMU's post-season hissy fit but it sounds like just more of the same from Hawkins.

I received my computer science degree from Akron back in 1988. As I said in a previous post, that degree has served me well in my IT career here in the Akron area. I've been fortunate to work for two very good companies (J.M. Smucker company-6yrs; and FedEx-14 and counting) over the last 20 years and wouldn't trade the time I spent working on projects in the computer labs on campus for anything. Hope the staff is able to land Zeke.

Based on one thread I sifted through on the OU site, it sounds like the CBI MAY have reduced the cost to host a game. It also sounds like TOS was prepared to lose some money in exchange for the chance to host a game - from one of the OU posts ..."O'Shea was quoted earlier this week as saying he'd pick up another $$$ game next year to cover any losses we incur by playing in this tournament, so I'm not too worried about the budget implications. Though it would be nice to see a few more people coming out for this."

I hope we can run our offense for a good portion of each shot clock AND get a good look at the basket. I do NOT want to get into a run-and-gun with UMass if we can do anything about it.
