Will the folks at Capital One be flying both Zippy and Goldy Gopher to Orlando prior to the Capital One Bowl to help keep the winner a surprise or just the winner? If it's just the winner heading south, I would imagine Zippy will be able to tell us one way or the other whether she won or not. I'm sure Zippy has been sworn to secrecy but ...

Sounds kind of crazy but has anyone sent an e-mail to any radio stations, TV stations or newspapers in Australia? Seems to me they'd be willing to jump on a kangaroo's bandwagon for a few days. I wonder if a newspaper down-under could get permission to reprint Giffel's article from today's Beacon? Could be one of those cute, filler-type stories for them.

I'll contact Shannon (of Scott and Shannon on the morning show at WQMX 94.9) via e-mail Sunday night to remind her to do multiple Zippy updates during their show Monday morning. She always replies to my e-mail and they've been big supporters of Zippy throughout the contest. They have a link to the voting page on their web page. I'll send her a quick e-mail now to remind her to mention Zippy tomorrow and Friday if they can as well.

I hear we had four JUCOs on campus this past week with at least two of them being 6'4"-ish wide receivers. Guys at the company I work for who are based in Pittsburgh and follow high school sports pretty closely over there have said they think Matt Rodgers is the real deal. Sure hope that is the case.

Wow ... Goldy has run out to a 2100-vote lead over Hairy. Zippy is hanging in there with a 300-vote lead. Keep voting folks! Gonna be another one of those Mondays! Spread the word to those who have voted in the past that Zippy needs another strong push this weekend and Monday morning. Gotta make the finals!

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing johnnyzip84. I know I back off on the voting when Zippy goes up big and I would think the same would hold true for the Dawg voters or at least those who aren't set on making sure Zippy goes down. My future votes this week will be for Hairy Dawg.
