hell, i subscribed to direct tv's sport pack for a month just to see the game. $12.95 ain't bad to see the zips play, about the same as a bleacher seat in the jar for one game.

hey steuby, the thanksgiving game is a great idea. you're not from akron and you don't know the traditon of the turkey day game. many, many people were very excited about the game but the blizzard put a stop to a huge turn out. it's amazing as many people showed up for the game, considering the conditons. on the surface it may have sounded like a bad idea but it's an akron tradition that people were buzzing about. 40 degrees and dry, record turn out. :macc:

we hardly ever use a fullback anymore. maybe next year we will but the trend is a single back set. :macc:

ok, we took an ass kcking on the road in a tough situation. i can't see this team folding though in the last four games. i didn't see any quiting last night even when the team was down by 20. dials looked pissed and was giving it his all. they just got beat by a better team that was totally in the zone and couldn't miss. we can make tons of excuses for why the zips were blown out but i think even if we played our best on our home court, we'd still have a tough time beating nevada. that's a damned good team and would destroy anyone in the mac on their home court and probably on the road. hopefully this loss is just a bad memory and the team will concentrate on the mac championship now. this kinda reminds me of the loss to army in football. we took an ass kicking and came back to win the mac. the world's not over

season ticket holders will get a gold ticket like in the fall for the closed practice. if there is no room in the indoor practice facility for those who don't have season tickets, they'll have to watch on onn. :macc:

i gotta defend joe. he may not have the best voice for the job but no one knows akron u sports history (and local high school sports for that matter) better than he. he'd probably be the first to correct me and say there is no such thing as "akron u", it's akron or the university of akron. he may not be flushy but damnit, he's ours and he knows more about akron sports than this whole board put together.

we'll be fine if we just take care of our own business and not worry about the other schools. we control our own desitny which is the way to be. one game at a time :macc:

i don't claim to be a basketball expert by any means but it seems to me there has been a lot of poor officiating this year. it's not just against the zips, the visiting teams in the jar have also suffered from it. the miami and buffalo games were embarrassing to me due to the officiating. a win is a win, but damn.

yeah take the zen approach like phil jackson. it's easy, just have the best talent in the world and sit back and be an overrated coach while the talent takes over on the court.

i've always thought that french has done a great job. he's not a robot or talking head, he adds emotion to the game. i've enjoyed being at the basketball and football games with my radio so i can hear his analysis. the only problem i see is strength of signal.

ahhhh. living in the past, the poor guy. yesterday's news. this guy must be hanging out with frank the tank, you know the drunk head football coach who sets a fine example for the impressionable young men of athens. no wonder they burn the place down at halloween.
