I was impressed with Jacquemain and the wr's yesterday. There were a couple of drops but for the most part they did a pretty good job. Also, I thought the rb's ran hard even though there wasn't much room to roam. Poindexter is the short yardage "go to" guy in the passing game and he once again made the most of it. The defense had it's hands full, but they never quit and I'll give them credit for that. After that horrific 1 st quarter, I am surprised they were able to dig deep enough to keep going. Overall, it could have been better, but it coulda been a whole lot worse, too. Bring on Syracuse!

Who is the special teams coach? Unless I have been misinformed, JD Brookhart is handling the special teams this season.

I doubt he'd want to come back for another year. He's a 5 th year senior and he'll graduate in the spring with two degrees. Remember that his shoulder is a disaster after the injury last season and now with the knee, I just don't see it happening. Who knows, maybe he'd love to come back, though. I know we'd all love it, if he could.

Recognition for Mackey by the MAC is long overdue! I love watching that kid play football.

I honestly think the problems with the punting game are NOT related to the punter. Stec does a nice job, imo. He just needs a little bit of time to get the punt off. I don't think that is too much to ask. What punter in the world could have gotten that last one off on Saturday night? Give him a split second to get the punts off, and then we can all go back to complaining about how bad the coverage is , once again.

Zach's father stated that a release had not yet been obtained. He also mentioned Penn St. and Michigan as schools that had made offfers to Zach in the past. It sounded like the release would be granted, and then Zach would begin looking for a program. All contacts at this time must be made thru his high school coaches to avoid NCAA violations. Go get him, JD!

yea, howe went from starting for Akron, back to playing HS..... whata dumby. Howe wasent one of "brookharts guys" so they kept giving him BS until he finally got smart an said it isnt worth wasting his time (and eligibility) trying to please the coaches here at akron, when they are just going to keep screwin him over. He started the spring out at 1st team middle linebacker..... then out of the blue for no reason he was bumped to 2nd string behind Mark Groza, the same Mark Groza who couldnt start the last 4 years while at Akron cuz he wasent good enough....... im glad Howe made the decision to leave, it was for the best of both him and akron.What a load of crap!!!! Howe left because he was a prima donna. He couldn't stay healthy and he was a freaking crybaby. He had the talent to play at Akron , but he lacked the heart. Did you forget that he quit the team in '05 , too? Bumped to second string for no reason? Are you kidding me? Did you ever even watch Groza play? He gave everything he had on every play! Howe should be a star at Walsh, for crying out loud! He coulda been all MAC if he'd have wanted it!

Wow, what a horrible idea. Hell, he couldn't even crack the starting line-up last season. I wish him well, but I am not optimistic about this one.

Also, Biggs would sell out like no other while picking up blitzers for Getsy...Man, I loved watching Biggs play ball!
