  1. Wow, what a long day. Beautiful weather and campus. Nice stadium. Pitiful showing by the Zips offense. You cannot win football games by playing a quarter here and a quarter there. Really good showing by the defense, but they were on the field almost all the time for the last 3 quarters. They were exhausted. It was great to see UAM, he's a class act and the Cincy is lucky to have him. It was also very cool to hear Tommy G on the radio broadcast in the concourse as we walked up. Maybe they can get it all together and beat Miami. They'd better. Any predictions on attendence for that one? Uggh!
  2. Delone Carter from Copley is listed, too. He's a rb at Syracuse. A little more local flavor on the national scene.
  3. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'll be glad to see Waddell on Saturday. Even if he is dressed in red and black.
  4. Youth and inexperience caused that interception in the 4 th quarter. By the time the Browns need him to not make those kinds of mistakes, he will be a seasoned veteran leader and it won't even be an issue. Go Charlie. Keep moving and grow eyes in the back of your head.
  5. I was feeling like cancelling the roadie to cincy as well. I have regained my enthusiasm and am going to be there in full Zips attire. Maybe they were just looking past Can't (inexcusable, btw) and concentrating on getting another win against a BCS opponent? Anyway, I will be there to cheer the Zips on to victory against the queens from Cincinnati.
  6. Some how i think Crouch on the bench would lead to the water cooler being sacked 5 times. Balki made me laugh.
  7. There have been quite a few bad losses thru the years. This one is one of the more infuriating, though. That's how it goes when you're a sports fan, you've gotta learn not to get too high with the wins, nor too low with the losses. This one really stings, because I really thought we'd be the better team on Sat., and we most certainly were not.
  8. I would like to see how Tim Crouch looks sitting on the bench. I wonder if Luke would like to see that , too.
  9. I am sure that is true. Regardless, you are OVERREACTING!
  10. The Zips played a game like that one last season, too. Remember the Army game? They used it as motivation to pull it all together and turn the season around. Can JD and his staff do it again? How about the players, the seniors, especially? I think it now becomes a test of pride.
  11. Josh better get used to his new Zips garb. Charlie isn't gonna let it slide this time, lol.
  12. I am happy to see that none of the rest of you are buying into the hype. I agree. I think the Zips win by at least two touchdowns. 35-17 sounds good to me, although I don't think Can't can score 17 against our first team defense. They'll have to block a punt for a touchdown.
  13. Yes, he did. Two plays, I believe.
  14. Brookhart was doing his best to get Jackson into the game. He was warmed up and ready but the defense couldn't get the ball back after that terrible effort on the onside kick. Jackson and the whole second team offense missed out on a golden opportunity to get some valuable playing time. I was so frustrated sitting there in the stands watching that second half debacle. Imagine how the second teamers were feeling. They're all pumped up and ready to go hit someone, but we can't get the ball out of N. Texas' hands. Our special teams just plain suck. Yes, Jackson should have gotten some playing time, and Jacquemain should have , too. I think it was what JD intended to do, but it just didn't work out that way.
  15. If Charlie can stay alive, he'll be a better Qb down the road because of all the adversity he's facing right now. He's hit on virtually every pass play. I actually find it hard to watch because I find myself rooting for him more than I root for the Browns. Funny, because I've always been a Browns' fan. Just keep moving , Charlie, a moving target is harder to hit.
  16. I thought the first half was tremendous. That being said, the place kicking is a crap shoot. In years past, we didn't really have to pay attention to the extra points because they were nearly automatic. This season I find my self cheering when one hapens to go thru. You can forget about kicking any field goals. This is going to cost us GAMES. It may cost a chance to defend the MAC title. I dunno what the answer is, but Igor's back has turned into our Achilles Heel. It is going to be impossible to win games if we cannot kick extra points and field goals from 35 yds and in.
  17. Nice. Harsh, but accurate and nice.
  18. Oh my goodness, some of those were really funny. I even pulled my wife away from Deal or No Deal to show her and she laughed out loud!
  19. Why shouldn't Kennedy lead the team in receptions? It's a west coast offense. A short, ball control, passing game. The rb's are huge players in this offense. Just be thankful that Kennedy has the ability to catch the ball, otherwise this offense wouldn't be able to function effectively. If you're concerned that the ball hasn't been thrown downfield often enough, then you don't need to look at Getsy, anyway. You need to take a look at what kind of pass protection he's getting from that veteran, experienced, senior lead offensive line.
  20. There was a definite buzz around town after NC St. We'll have to see how it plays out, but this horrible showing up at Central is not going to help. Sure, we'll all be there, but the buzz will certainly die down after Saturday's debacle. Some radio ad's and a push from the Beacon would help. Either way, I'll be there, early and ready to go.
  21. I really like Stec. He is doing a good job, imo. He's young and under lots of pressure, but he continues to get decent punts off, somehow. This poor kid who's doing the place kicking is just horrible. It's only the third game and he's already blown 2 extra points. Nationally, JD was being praised for his gutsy call with 3 seconds left last week. He didn't have a choice, his kicker couldn't have made a field goal from the 3 yard line. That's why he put the ball in Kennedy's hands. The Zips must be able to convert extra points and short field goals to win games. I never saw this coming, because they had signed Igor. Without him, it may be a long season.
  22. No, I am not worried about Getsy.
  23. A very bad first half of football. I don't know why they weren't ready, but they weren't. They actually looked pretty good in the second half but they were in too big a hole. Where is Igor? How is his back? Tell him we NEED him! We cannot win games if we cannot convert field goals and extra points. Luke will have better days. He's a gamer and he'll put this one behind him.
  24. I felt like they made some adjustments at the half and did a pretty good job from that point on. That being said, they ARE an experienced line and it should not take them 3 quarters of football to get it all together. Bad? I dunno. Inconsistant? Certainly.
  25. It's gonna be a battle up there. We cannot have a letdown. Last week is behind us, let's go get CMU.
