  1. I thought Luke did a pretty good job with the interview. He was a little bit nervous at first. The interviewer had a lot of good things to say about the program and especially about JD. Let's get that extension done, people!
  2. Brian Howe has left U of A to enroll at Walsh University.
  3. My guess is that Luke will be on at 7:30 am Eastern Standard Time. Rivals airs out of Memphis and those times are CST. Rivals is on the air 7-10 am, here in Akron.
  4. Really? Where did you hear this? Un-freaking-believable.
  5. Wow. I had no idea that many kids from the '06 class weren't going to be here. Things still look pretty good, though. Is the center, Mark Jackson lost for good, too? He looked like a beast.
  6. I was afraid it might be something like an ACL. Damn it! The one saving grace is that the season hasn't started, yet and the med redshirt is available. Hate to lose Alex. I felt like it would be a really good year for him. He looked like a beast.
  7. Oh yea, I'll be late, but I'll be there. Gotta support the team.
  8. According to Bill Williamson of the Denver Post on Aug. 10, "Wr. Domenik Hixon is coming along in his recovery from a fractured foot. However, he could be placed on season ending Injured Reserve."Also, here is a link to Hixon's training camp log on the Bronco's website.http://www.denverbroncos.com/page.php?id=334&storyID=5831I hope he get healthy and can get on the field. I think he can make a difference out there.
  9. I love that Joe Novak actually spoke his mind. Good for you , Joe!
  10. Now there's an idea I like!
  11. Thanks for that one. I needed to laugh about it.
  12. I have parked for years in what is now being called lot number 1. It is the most convevient place for me to be, and it was a great deal for $25. That was probably too cheap, I admit, but $500 is not happening. Anyone who defends an increase of this magnitude cannot be reasoned with. YOU GO PARK THERE! I am walking over to the Bowl from the other side of Tripplett Blvd.
  13. You're right. That IS where the party is and it's great fun to be over there. I will WALK over and join the parties this season. See you on 9/23! Go Zips!
  14. Did all of you season ticket holders receive the same letter that I did today? $525 to park in the same lots that used to cost $25? Let the gouging begin! Has Patrick J. Kreger, Associate Athletics Director-Development lost his his freaking mind? Whatever dude, I'll park on Hillman or Stanley and walk over to the Bowl. Kinda puts a damper on all of my tailgating plans, though, DAMMIT! Bring back Mike Thomas and Mike Waddell! Go Zips!
  15. I assume Brinson will be a db at Akron? I remember him being a pretty good rb at McKinley, too.
  16. Wow, you are very smart. The point is that just because the recruiting services and media don't know of any verbals to Toledo and don't know of man recruits that Toledo is going after........doesn't mean that Toledo is having a down year in recruiting. It is the same for Toledo every year, and we always do OK in recruiting. Oh, I get it. Toledo. Toledo. Toledo. Toledo. Toledo.
  17. Er, uh, ok. So, there we have it. Toledo signed some players last year, and will probably sign some more this year. Excellent!
  18. Domenik Hixon is talking about Bronco's training camp via an online journal on Denver's team website. He'll be making periodic entries over the next three weeks. He is still rehabbing, but is signed and ready to play pro ball.http://www.denverbroncos.com/page.php?id=334&storyID=5782
  19. I really think the Zips win 9 games, and it could even be 10. I believe they will sweep the home schedule (NTSU, Miami, BG, Buffalo, WMU) and they get road wins at CMU, Can't State, Cincy, Toledo, and Ohio. I know that adds up to ten wins, but it allows for a slip up somewhere along the way, probably on the road. I just hope it isn't Can't State or Cincy.
  20. Does going to a prep school release you from your LOI? I thought he signed one. Does anyone know?
  21. That's probably true, but a lot of the FRONT RUNNERS in the greater Cleveland and Akron/Canton area root for the Steelers.I call them BOTTOM FEEDERS.
  22. Yea, you've got to hit the Creamery. The Olde College Inn serves hot sticky buns late night and it's worth the wait to get in there to get one! Go Zips!
  23. This isn't supposed to be about the f-ing Steelers. God, I hate that ass backward part of the country!Charlie is gonna have a much more difficult season because of the injury to Lecharles, for certain. There's something about Charlie , though, I feel like he'll be fine, anyway. I don't think they are gonna win very many games. Hell, I thought 8-8 was about their limit if the o-line stayed healthy. Now, who knows? I look for Charlie to throw this team on his back and be the leader that they have been looking for since they came back into the league. I sure hope I am right.
  24. The Zips were an oddity in college football last season by having a 3000 yard passer, a 1000 yard rusher and a 1000 receiver. Do you think they can do this again? Luke should be a lock for 3000 yards? How about Arthur? Is he a 1000 yard receiver? If not him, then who? Can Kennedy or Allen rush for 1000 yards? I think it's possible. Does anyone else have any thoughts?
  25. He sounds like a big play kid. 10 touchdowns as a sophomore and 11 as a junior, with over 40 catches both years. Certainly looks like he got a bright future.
