It just seems like things are changing a bit around here. Kids can't wait until LOI day and then sign with Akron when an offer from another school doesn't come. If an athlete wants to play here he'd better get on board early, because there might not be room for him if he waits too long.

Actually, Scout.com only lists 10 commits, but they have more of them rated with 3 stars. Rivals.com is the service that lists us with 15 commitments. Either way, it's impressive that kids are lining up to come play here!

Look at the commitment list for the Zips on Scout.com, and then look at the lists for the other MAC schools? Akron already has 15 commitments! Nobody else even has 10! I believe a great deal of credit goes to JD and his staff for these kinds of results. Oh yea, the training facilities don't hurt, either!

I've gotta tell ya, guys, I am not too disappointed with the defense. Sure, I would have liked to see some stops so CJ could have gotten involved a bit more this season. But, I think if the offense had been as good as the defense this year, we'd be making a return trip to Detroit. I know special teams hurt us, but the defense only gave up 10 points last night. That's a game you should win!

Get out of the MAC? I disagree. We need to win the MAC, over and over , again. That's how you'll get the respect you want.

If you'd have told me a guy can recover an onside kick in full view of God, fans and tv and then not be given the ball I wouldn't have believed it! The MAC should be embarrassed by the officiating during last night's game. I can't believe JD didn't go freaking crazy after they screwed him on the onside kick. How about the personal foul on Stokes defending an option play? Anyone else see the "no-call" when Jabari got mauled on the sideline right in front of the referee?

Hmm, imagine that. Ohio is 7-3 and they just happen to have an excellent kicking game. I hope Igor can keep it on the straight and narrow from here on out.

While I agree with you that Luke is not going to be an NFL qb, I do not agree with you comment that he throws the ball away because he is afraid. As a qb, his job is to live for another day. Sacks put your team in a hole and throwing it away can save valuable yardage. I wish he would put his head down more often when he is scrambling, but qb's are now taught from a very young age to utilize the slide. He slides a bit too often and too early IMO. It almost cost us the NC ST. game. I don't mean to be too ctirical of him, because he's been fun to watch. When Luke is good, he is very good. Hopefully, we will have him for 3 more games.

I have nothing bad to say about the offense. Great push by th o-line. Great running by Kennedy, and Jabari after the catch. I am pretty sure David Harvey is open on EVERY play. Man he is fun to watch! The defense scares me , but Kiki came up big on the last play! That one sent us all home happy, so, I won't bother complaining any further. Go Zips!

And you think Frye would be playing well otherwise? Many of his mistakes have been when he's had plenty of time...you can only blame the o-line for so much...You are wrong. Without an offensive line what can happen other than mistakes, injuries and losses? It is impossible to blame the o-line enough!

Yea, hard to argue with any of that. How many blocked punts are we going to have this season? Both punting and place kicking this year have been a fiasco. I dunno, it was very discouraging to watch. I hate losing to a lesser team, but we did it again.

Excellent job. Alienate the fans who are showing up! If you are treating OUR fans that way, what the hell do you do to the visiting fans? They really are in the wrong stadium , after all. Right?

Personally, I don't get the uproar. A 1 pm start will be nice, it's been a while since we've had a day game. I have been to many Zip's games in the afternoon. Why are you so sure that it will hurt attendance? When did it become a rule that all the games had to be in the evening? It will be warmer than at night and it may be more convenient for some fans who have families. 10 am, 1, 6 or 7 pm, makes no difference to me.

I was so freaking glad to see them beat Miami. I really didn't think the Zips played that well. A lot more points could have been on the scoreboard. Hopefully, this one helps them turn the corner. Kennedy ran hard on every carry and that was nice to see. Arthur pick up a first down on a third-and-long that he just wouldn't be denied on. That was an awesome run! The D-line did a pretty good job of containing the qb. 6 sacks is the most I've seen in long time. All in all, is was a good time. Nice crowd, nice night and a victory over Miami.

It's not going to happen. Barring injury, or blow out, Jackson is not going to see the field. JD didn't bring Luke here from Pitt. to sit him on the bench. Luke is his guy. You can talk about it if you like, but as far as JD is concerned, there is no "quarterback situation".

Igor's season just got worse. Good thing he wasn't playing anyway! Lemme get this straight. He has a broken neck/back, so he can't play football. But he can fight, and pretty well, I guess since he's charged with assault.
