  1. New uniforms coming for the band, per facebook: In case you haven't heard, there are some VERY exciting things on the horizon for The 2015 edition of "Ohio's Pride." #1 - All members of the UAMB will now receive a $1,000 stipend each year they are in Ohio's Pride. #2 - Thanks to the support of the UA Administration, "Ohio's Pride" will be replacing our 18 year old uniforms in time for our first football game of 2015. #3 - The UAMB will be hosting our annual Spirit Night for current and prospective members on Monday, April 13th at 7:00pm on the 5th floor of InfoCision Stadium where we will unveil the new uniforms and details for the coming season. We hope you share this exciting news and join us for Spirit Night on April 13th! Go Zips!!!
  2. How fast is Woodson? Anyone here know his 40 yard dash time?
  3. Congrats. Every NE Ohio news outlet has repeated your news bit and now the AP has picked it up. http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/local/2015/03/17/university-of-akron-ponders-a-renaming.html
  4. 23-10 the past 2 seasons. 22-8 currently.
  5. Come on, Balsy, wake up! What are you hung over from Pi Day or something??
  6. Doesn't a thorough national AD search/vetting/interviewing/hiring process take about 6 months? And is not done secretly? If his contract is up this September we should be hearing something (one way or the other) soon, I would think. Unless they would appoint an interim AD while the search is ongoing. My guess would be he gets extended due to the short-leash conundrum...if an Akron is too quick to terminate someone, it discourages other potentially qualified candidates from applying. Then again, it's been what, 6 years? With the program being relatively stable/successful, perhaps he is being evaluated primarily on his progress on fundraising.
  7. Maybe a nearby one in upstate New York.
  8. ESPN Bracketology has the Chips as #13 seed taking on Northern Iowa. ESPN Bracketology has the Bulls as #12 seed taking on Arkansas. http://espn.go.com/ncb/bracketology
  9. 35 games played already. 5 long months for these guys who are supposed to be students first. I think the lesser tournaments are anticlimactic to the conference tourney, at best. Cost of entry, cost of travel, being that we're tired and banged up...I could excuse them for declining.
  10. Final is tonight at 7:30 on ESPN2. Bulls are favored by 2-3 points.
  11. Fortunately tired legs aren't an issue for Antino since he doesn't jump when he shoots.
  12. They're hitting the wacky weed again. No Akron player is in the top 8 for FG% nor 3-point FG% (in-conference). http://mac-sports.com/stats.aspx?path=mbball&year=2014
  13. I kinda feel like I only need tune in at 11:00 to see either 1) a one-possession game after 35 minutes of play (hopefully), or 2) that UB ran the tired Zips out of the gym (in which case I'd be glad not to have witnessed it).
  14. Good call. What about tonight?
  15. That probably punched our ticket to a lesser tournament. A win tonight may cement an NIT bid (?)
  16. Pretty cool that this is on espn3 with no login required...I wonder how that happened?
  17. ISU game @ Info moved to 2017. Opportunity knocks.
  18. Done. But it was hard not to vote for wrestler Adeline Gray
  19. Woodson----->WR Best QB talent available---->QB
  20. Quick...without looking...what's the state rock song of New Mexico?
  21. free video stream: http://gozips.sidearmsports.com/watch/?Live=87 What You May Not Know About the Series Northern Illinois is the only MAC team that the Zips have not played in the conference tournament prior to tonight's meeting. The 31 games played in the series are the fewest of any MAC opponent for the Zips.On the Line vs. Northern Illinois An Akron win will advance the Zips to the second round of the MAC Tournament at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.A victory will give Akron at least one win in each of the last 11 MAC Tournaments.A win would give head coach Keith Dambrot win No. 250 at Akron, second-most in program history.A victory will give the Zips 19 wins for an 11th-straight season, becoming one of just 11 programs to do so.
