I've said it before, and I will say it again, I think Toledo and Akron suffer because they are urban universities and conservative media outlets are relentless in bashing urban areas, particularly on crime, and that perception influences the decision-making of many people trying to figure out the best options for their children's next career and life step. If I were to guess, most college applicants in Ohio are from rural or suburban areas, rather than urban, so the propaganda cannot be overcome through real-world experience. If UA and UT were smart, they'd be pitching the advantages of being in an urban environment such as the proximity to the hospitals, government agencies, major businesses, and arts and culture. How has Cleveland State been doing on enrollment? Similar to UA and UT?...it is a serious question. I do not know the answer but hope someone else does.

Well, I was quite wrong. I couldn't watch. Did we have a poor second half, or did UConn just step it up? Are they really as good as the result indicates? Other than goals, the stats appear in our favor.

There's 1-0. I think UConn will press the game and we'll absorb well and get another goal off a counter before it's over.

UConn is undefeated on the season, and we've never beaten them in three previous attempts, all on the road. This should be a really good test. Wish I could listen on the radio.

I appreciate the analysis, CK, but I never want to support a program that is satisfied with a close, competitive loss on the road because we are outspent off the field. On the field, that was a winnable game, and we beat ourselves with a lack of discipline, which has little to nothing to do with off the field spending.

Any concerns about today's match? WMU is 1-4-0 and seems to be in a down cycle for their program, which was close to tops in the country only a year or so back. My prediction, Zips 3-0...the shutout streak continues.

OU is great within the MAC, which is nowhere near competing with OSU on their own field, especially post-NIL. I predict OSU will win by about four TD's and the game will essentially be over shortly into the 3rd quarter, if not earlier.

Besides the Zips, no public Ohio gridiron football team has gone to Columbus and came home with a win. Granted, we did it when John Heisman was coach, but the fact remains. This weekend will be no different. Ohio is a good MAC team that is light years away from competing with Ohio State for four quarters.
