  1. http://www.collegesoccernews.com/index_files/Page18846.htmIn a game in which South Florida was outshot 17-8, the Bulls finished when it mattered most and walked out of Akron, Ohio with an upset win over the host Zips. South Florida's Yohance Marshall finished off a Simon Schoendorf free kick just 45 seconds into the second overtime for the win. Akron had the majority of offensive pressure in both the first half and overtime but couldn't get one passed the South Florida defense in the disappointing home loss. The Bulls advance to the NCAA Third Round to play the Tournaments third seed, Connectivcut. The Bulls will be looking to reverse a midseason result against the Huskies in which were beaten 2-1.
  2. I'm pretty pissed too. It's hard to complain about not getting an at-large bid or a respectable seeding when opportunities like this one are not taken full advantage of. Dominating a team and then losing to end the season is perhaps the worst feeling in the sports world.Just like the basketball MACC last, season, I feel the worst for the seniors who have to end their careers on such an off-pitch note. Underclassman and juniors, come out next season ready to avenge this defeat!
  3. Sure beats the weather the day we hosted WVU in a second-round tournament home game a few years back. That game was played in a couple inches of snow.
  4. 62-57 with 2:09 left...Temple on an 8-0 run. I hope we can close this one out...it's getting ugly here at the end.
  5. What's the complete story on this "whistle blowing" incident?...Some of you AK-Oldies please fill us newcomers in.
  6. If we schedule a I-AA game next year, I'd like it to be against YSU as this would be well attended and have local interest. Also, I don't think UA could stand the set back that would occur if we scheduled a game against one of the top I-AA schools and lost (e.g. Michigan versus Appalachian State).
  7. Ironically, Lola is a Duke alum where his dad was head coach and he was a two-time all-american. When Lola played his Duke team beat UA in the 1986 National Championship 1-0.
  8. Wins against New Mexico, UIC, Kentucky, and Oakland were also very big.
  9. Nevermind, but thanks anyhow...http://www.ncaasports.com/soccer/mens/brac...t64_dyn/2007/DI
  10. More details please...who are the teams that we may play from the first round?
  11. I think we will end up with anywhere from the 12th to the 16th seed giving us a first-round bye and a second-round home game. I agree, we perhaps deserve a better seed and ranking, but that aspect is beyond control. In the tournament, all that matters is winning the next game. It's a new season.
  12. IMO, UA has earned a first round bye and a home game for the second round. Let's hope the selection committee feels the same way. When and where will the bracket be released?
  13. This isn't a good time to go up there though because it's so cold. July is about the only time I would want to visit Alaska.
  14. I'm just checking in...listening to the game over the internet from Pittsburgh. Staying up late even though I have to work in the morning. If PSU cools off with their three point shooting, we should be able to pull away.
  15. Thanks!...Did they win in the run of play or as a result of a shootout?
  16. Please post the result when the game is final. The gametracker isn't giving any details about the shootout.
  17. The winner plays Hartwick in the final. Hartwick defeated UB 1-0 in the 5PM semifinal game.Go ZIPS!
  18. I thought Stark State and Can't State-Stark were separate entities sharing the same physical space?
  19. Can't already has a regional campus near Canton...just north of the Belden Village area.
  20. JA is a good player in the MAC, but because of his occasionally suspect hands, I don't know if he has what is required to play on Sundays.
  21. And the sad part is that this pathetic performance was on national TV.
  22. We beat ourselves tonight, the sweaters didn't beat us.
  23. Our best and only receiver wide open on 4th down for the tying touchdown and we can't get him the ball...our whole season was summarized in that single play.
  24. There isn't going to be anyone at the game versus CMU next week.
  25. JD and the defensive coordinator can stay, but we need to clean house with the rest of our coaching staff.
