http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/polls This would never have happened five years ago. The numbers will free fall from here because the MAC has so many weak teams but it"s good to see it now. Cleveland St. will pull us down Wednesday, but over the season will undoubtedly help our numbers. We need to play better than we did against YSU to win this game. http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/polls?poll=5

Does this mean we are not bowl eligible?

http://www.thetaphouseakron.com/ He's a businessman who needs to eat and pay the bills. Few Zips show up for the shows. He's a Zip fan. What would you have the guy do? He gets a salary from the university. It is far larger than the people the University wants showing up at the games. How much do you need? Follow the posts closer and comment again.

Soccer vs Wake Forest game thread

Or perhaps more accurately: The defense was solid and Wagner was a beast. The only problem was that the entire offense struggled and the young QB was unable to single-handedly bail them out. Did you run this past the "big phone booth blowhard" who wasn't at the game and has no first hand knowledge of anything pertaining to this game? Sounds like another excuse for the QB.

You can't coach size and speed, but someone has to teach him where to carry the ball. Too many video highlights running left with ball tucked in right arm. Even D1 schools in the MAC will take the ball from him.

The large UA letters on the southwest side of the new parking deck are down and they're removing the damaged bricks to replace them. Did the storm take down another sign?

That's very Fox News of you. Can someone please tell me if Corey Woods is a senior or a junior? The reason I ask is because on many sites he is listed as a junior but on gozips.com he is labeled as a senior. If he is a senior I think you could add him in as a legit candidate to get drafted. He has started every game since 2007 according to gozips. If he has started every game begining in 2007, he would be a seior. 2007-2008-2009-2010.

Again I ask: What if Rodgers gets the starting spot? What if he does? We appear to be set up as a run oriented team. Matt is a good runner. I'm willing to wait for practice to start before throwing out the "what if".

Sorry, I forgot to mention that moderates are more subtle than extremists. Moderates have opinions, but they also understand that opinions are formulated by humans, and since all humans are imperfect, so are their opinions. Extremists believe that only those humans with differing opinions are imperfect. +1

It's his emotion that holds him back. He is a loose cannon on the court and really is a liability when he gets angry. He is often angry. He commits too many fouls to see meaningful playing time. He brings energy to the court but most nights can't stay on the court long enough to have a positive impact. If he could learn to control his emotions, he could be a much better player.

Titanium bridge contest winner to be announced
UADavid replied to ZachTheZip's topic in General UA & Campus Discussion
I noticed the Akron University thing too, it's awful. Honestly all three of these designs are strange. I don't really like the idea of another school winning either, and I really hope UA's entry wins. Why couldn't they just have all 5 entries come from UA? Lack of attention to detail is a big deal in engineering and architecture. The University of Ball have surely removed themselves from the winning entry. They will be announcing first and second place on May 20th and didn't show two of the designs.......................................! -
Peter Noone would beg to differ. Or Jasper "Buddy" Noone Blood Work

A vs an. The rule is that you use a before words that start with a consonant sound and an before words that start with a vowel sound. Make sure every marketing idea is correctly written before submitting to UA. The proof readers at UA have, in the past, been awol.

But you can blindly slam the coach without knowing the details?Perhaps that's proof that old age doesn't overcome a lack of perspective or priorities.Go Zips!I am not slamming the coach. I am saying that two suspensions of starters in a week shows lack of control.Wrong. At what point do you attribute these suspensions to the actions of the players? It shows he does control the team and the program has the proper perspective for it's student athletes.

I repeat that there would be no money for the remaining teams. You bemoan the "Whoring out" of the football team but these games are important to the program for a multitude of reasons not the least of which is revenue. Without these games the entire athletic department would be hurt. This action could actually cause a reduction in sports at UA. This is a bad idea for UA and for any non super conference team. You're attempting to turn the NCAA into another NFL. Every year we have upsets and that's what makes college athletics so interesting and exciting. Your plan rewards the largest schools at this time in history and ensures that no other school would ever escape the black hole that would be the remaining teams. Bad, bad idea. What benefits Akron wouldn't be a super conference. Where would the money come from for the other 80-90 teams that don't make the cut? TV? Advertising? Sponsors? Big game payouts? No-no-no-no. It puts all the money in a much smaller basket and turns the super teams into professional teams with paid students. In the gp1 scenario, there would be no promotion/relegation because no team could afford to do so. How would scheduling be accomplished? Do you inherit their schedule and they inherit yours? It's been brought up several times and it's still not a good idea or an idea that would benefit Akron or any other non super conference team. It rewards schools that already have the most. No more Boise Sts., no TCU's, no Appalachian Sts., I could do without that in college athletics. For every team not part of the chosen few, it would be like being the Pittsburgh Pirates and knowing you're going nowhere.I actually think this would be a better scenario for the teams that don't make the 40. If those schools were any good over the past 40 years, they would have made the cut. They can now go off into their own league where they don't have to whore themselves out every year, like UofA does. It creates more competition in the lower levels and higher level. In terms of the money, we aren't making any money now. What would the difference be?Most of the top 40 are professional teams anyhow. They are in the business of generating millions for their schools every year. Coaches make millions a year. My scenario creates a situation where the players are paid $1,000 per month up front in lieu of having go go pick up an envelop full of $100 bills in it every month. Please see my original post for scheduling method.
