Whether mes102's drinkin it or smokin it, it's contagious! Shout out to Coach Pfau and the Zips Wahines. Unfortunately, I must now disinvite them from playing in Hawaii in the near future. They are now TOO GOOD for my team! Not sure why they play so well in non-con games, and have more trouble in the MAC -- but this could be-- no SHOULD be the year they put that record in the past. Nice to see UofM be our beee-itch.

Very nice video. I was there and must say you captured the event very well! Dude! The vid was awesome. Has anyone NOT seen the "That's cold", sayeth the Head Coach. Probably <60F (water temp), since it's only 60-65 in the summer. Have to admit, I was amazed to see Wistercil in there, nice, Boss .

Youth Player Evaluations

Thanks Bobby. Problem is, Versus might have to shave some of their Professional Bullriders Association coverage! I guess I can stand "NBC Soccer" -- as long as Johnny Miller's not in the booth! -
Or, maybe he meant he's a junior academically. Shrug. I guess we'll have to wait for the official word from GoZips.

For those who are only familiar with his columns, try reading his books. Loose Balls is a classic -- I have to wonder if he got a ghost writer!

Wow! At last I find someone who agrees with me! I never saw those kits in person -- was the yellow that light? The picture is the lightest shade of yellow this side of Oregon. Love it!

Youth Player Evaluations

Seattle, Portland, LA, Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Kansas City, and Philadelphia do well in attendance. San Jose packed Syracuse stadium when they played there. Montreal will be a great addition next year. MLS will be on NBC next year for several games. TV ratings are strong this year. Orlando is attendance is around 7,000 a game for a minor league soccer team. Look at the numbers and you'll see that the trend is very positive for MLS in the USA. BTW, it was nice to see New England bring a crowd for their last game. Getting a new soccer specific stadium closer to Boston will help them a lot. Where did you here about the NBC contract? Does that mean ESPN's dropping MLS? If so, I hope they will pick-up more LaLiga and UEFA games! -
A road draw vs a Big-10+ NCAA tourney team? Send us some of that Maui Wowee you got! They don't make it that strong ovah heah.

Do you have a picture of the cup? I was going to suggest you seek sponsorship of the Dept of Engineering Corrosion Control Program. However, you may be seeking just the proper patina of iron oxide, which they might be offended by.

Then why have two divisions? I suggest the MAC go to a one division table. And most importantly, include relegation. Toledo, NIU, enjoy your final season before joining the OVC. 2013, look for Morehead State and Murray State to play for a MAC title!

Speaking of which... Has anyone received their tickets yet? What's the scarf look like? Hope mine arrives before I depart for Cali.

Akron! We're big in Maine and Iowa. I think I have to agree with Spin on this one -- how many players did Notre Dame lose to WPS? Hint: They don't have a Generation Adidas.

"I think what's happened is you've seen some of these midmajors who've decided, 'Let's not put all our eggs into football or basketball, let's put all our eggs into the soccer basket,' " Porter said. "In some ways, we have even more support from the community and students because people really care. … At universities with the big names, where people have football and basketball, it's not always that important to the students or administration if soccer wins." Right on Caleb! We have our futbol -- what else is there, anyway? Oh yeah, women's futbol.

He could still transfer. Anyone see Keith talking to him after the game?

Not good with all the icons or adding graphs/charts/tables. Doubt that I will have the patience to learn. Would like to figure out how to use tables as it is useful sometimes. Helpful instruction: 1. Roll the cursor to the icon. 2. Click. Follow me:

Damn, it is impossible to discuss anything with you. You are such a victim, BuckZip. Glad the "owners" and moderators of this forum set examples of moderation, civility and keeping this non-personal. They can never be accused of setting the tone that allows for all the vindictive, personal trashing that goes on at ZNO. Dude! You forgot the

Fifth Day of Preseaon Men's Basketball Practice
Z.I.P. replied to GoZips's topic in Akron Zips Basketball
Quincy Diggs .390 (ESPN) Brett McClanahan .389 (ESPN) Brett McKnight .385 (ESPN) Same stats here (CBS Sports) ...and here (Rivals) The 2011 Post Season Media Guide does NOT include the Notre Dame game. Quincy took and made one three point shot against the Irish. That elevated his percentage. McClanahan took a couple of shots against the Irish and his percentage went down. Brett fired up over two hundred three balls over the course of the season. Diggs shot forty-one three balls. Huge difference. Diggs by virtue of rarely shooting long shots gains a minor statistical advantage. He is NOT the best outside shooter on the Zips. I will concede that percentage wise with a small sample he "appears" to be ... blah, blah, blah. Truth is; Diggs had a terrible stroke and any one who follows the game would and should cringe when he took those long shots. My original intent was to give Quincy credit for his work over the off season for improving his game. Some of you find busting my ass more to your liking than recognizing this kid for his hard work. Actually, even though Diggs has a slight statistical advantage it is unlikely that it is a statically significant advantage over either Mc. Fortunately, while his 42 attempts is not a huge number it is large enough to provide a sample that is asymptotically normal and you can easily conduct a significance test for yourself. Meister I apologize that my Statistics and Combinatorics classwork was lost in the haze of time (well, at least I'm not pulling the "My turtle ate my homework" excuse again!). Could you estimate what the chi square score might be between Quincy and Mac? Based on standard deviations from the mean, or median, your choice. -
Youth Player Evaluations

"So typical of MLS". Boy, does that say a mouthful! I've always thought, MLS is to world football as the MAC is to the USA. MLS tries to use physical style to make up for the lack of consistent skills -- but it isn't that simple, other nations/leagues appear to be trying to emulate our style -- did anyone see the awful takle by a Real Madrid player in Sunday's match with Barca? Criminal -- worse than what Mullan did to Zakuani, and he'll probably get no suspension. Plain and simple...the MLS plays terrible futbol I like the physical style. Better that than watching a game where people go down if they're tapped and cry if there's no yellow. Oh, they do that too! Watching Chivas USA play Sounders Saturday, Mondaini from Chivas was able to get three foul calls and a yellow card from the ref -- he was barely touched by the defenders, and goes down every time. So you could say the refs are empowering the unsportsmanlike play. There's a fine line between calling too many fouls and cutting down on over-physical or reckless play -- and the MLS referee system fails to draw the line consistently. -

IMG Soccer Academy retires six jerseys
Z.I.P. replied to Zip_ME87's topic in Akron Zips NCAA Championship Soccer
I'm assuming that these are the first #s that IMG is "retiring". And, quite frankly, given that they are not what anyone would call a regular "school", if they maintain these standards, they will not have many -- if any -- numbers remaining in a decade or two! Interesting remark from Bisbee -- but IMG, which I think began out of the Nick Bollitierri Tennis Academy exists on the back of super-rich families, or in the case of most footballers, the USSF, which pays the cost for the National Youth Academy residency players -- is that not true? -
Atill no Kyle Culbertson... #42 ranked HS player from 2010... http://academy.demosphere.com/teams/172761...4/12970534.html Varsity Football (Place Kicking) - 2nd Team All Conference Someone check I-Coach's roster!

I was checking out the host sites, to see where I may travel. Back to Portland on men's side, is only Left Coast site. Then I looked at the ladies, and saw that BeeGee hosts a regional -- great news for the MAC! It's actually the fourth time they have hosted - hard to believe! In their new facility, yet.
