Very sad to hear this, Mike was the only source for Akron sports news for a very long time.

I see Houston as a step down for Chris Pfau. Houston plays on a football field and averaged less than 200 per game last year. He turned the program around but I don't think he'd ever be the guy to take them deep into the NCAA tournament. It was time to move on for Akron as well. I'm excited to see who's hired to replace him.

It's the opposite of what you think. The Galaxy landed a deal with Time Warner Cable for all of their local home games. A 10 year deal worth $55 million. Fox Sports Ohio upgraded their Crew coverage by adding the Cleveland market this year. Sucks for those with Matchday Live because home games are now blocked out in the Akron area.

I disagree. Who will the ACC's top team play if they don't make it to the 4 team tournament? According to the new arrangement between the Big12 and SEC, it wont be a top team from those conferences. Big10 and Pac12 are going to do the same thing leaving the ACC with the Big East.

What I mean to say is that they'll announce the continuance of the Rose Bowl game, but with similar rules to the Big12 v SEC game. i believe they're going to shut out teams from other conferences from participating in their bowl games. ACC will have the Big East, which means the teams leaving the Big East for the ACC didn't really benefit much. Notre Dame is the biggest loser out of all of this.

the days of the At-Large bowl bids are over. The only way for a non-BCS team to play in a big game will have to be through the 4 team playoff system. The Big Ten is going to announce a partnership with the PAC12 next. Expect it soon.
