  1. I was thinking the same thing
  2. I'll get a picture for you tomorrow. He put in a good performance today.
  3. I found attendance figures posted on University of Nebraska Omaha's website. Not sure if these are official, the NCAA website does not have them posted yet. NCAA Division I Home Attendance 1. UC Santa Barbara 4782 2. Maryland 3781 3. New Mexico 3749 4. Connecticut 3579 5. Akron 3300 6. Louisville 3023 7. Creighton 2909 8. Cal Poly 2140 9. Clemson 2111 10. Wake Forest 2007 11. 4. Not sure if I have this right, but it looked like he shot in down the middle at the goalkeeper. The clock was at 0:00 when it was taken.
  5. We were late with today's game thread so it's better to start tomorrow's game early. I'll try to post updates throughout the game tomorrow.
  6. We might as well have our own instead of sharing one with the MAC. The other MAC schools (not including WVU) don't have a big soccer fan base.
  7. I started a Zips thread for the 2012 season on BigSoccer. Of course, Zipsnation should be our primary home, but having a presence on that site could help bring non-local Akron fans here. We're better than just being a part of a MAC thread there.
  8. sorry for the lack of updates. Akron won 2-1. Pitt's goal came off a mistake in the back from a bad pass. Akron kept Pitt on the defensive the entire game. Possession was at least 75% in favor of Akron. They dominated and had plenty of shots on goal. We missed a penalty kick before the end of the 1st half. For $0 to get in, this is the best bargain in town.
  9. So far so good. 1-0 and they're dominating. 28 to go in 1st
  10. I believe every "Major" conference is an American Football BCS conference. Until our American football team improves, our basketball and futball team are stuck at the "mid-major" level.
  11. I believe him, I've seen him driving this
  12. Nagbe surprises at #2 - Power 5 Sophomores Power 5 Sophomores - Perry Kitchen takes #5 CJ Sapong could be the #1
  13. in 2012!! Porter and Klinsmann want to change the culture of US Futball. I believe a strong attacking team in the MLS is the next step.
  14. this might be the last year we have Porter as Akron's coach. He's done very well by us and earned the opportunity to move up.
  15. Although Toledo is the 4th largest by City, it's 6th in Metro. To stay on subject, I believe it wouldn't be a bad idea for Can't to experiment with this idea as well. I have no idea what Bowling Green's alumni base statistics looks like so I'm not going to argue against their decision.
  16. yeah, I meant Valentin. Brain fart!! I'm not sure if Evan Bush is still injured, but I think Marsch would still have Sutton ahead of him If Montreal doesn't plan on using Valentin, they should have kept him in LA. My all Zips MLS fantasy team isn't doing well. I need more goals from Nagbe!!
  17. I have no idea how to use Google. http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&safe...ved=0CEAQ8gEwAQ For what it's worth, Toledo's metro is smaller than Akron's.
  18. The 3 Zips playing for Montreal are getting no love. Zemanski isn't on the lineup today and isn't listed as an injured player. Donovan Ricketts continues to suck which is keeping my hopes up that we'll see Evan Bush in a game this year. Sinisa Ubiparipovic is on the bench.
  19. Klinsmann stands by hiring of college coach for Olympics In fact, Klinsmann made it clear that he wants to make sure his Olympic head coach remained "connected" with the US national team program, with potential participation in senior national team camps, coaching workshops and help him arrange trips overseas to learn from European managers. He also didn't shy away from expressing his desire that Porter leave the college ranks. "I think he has a huge future ahead of him and, rather sooner than later, will jump into professional field and will become a pro coach," Klinsmann said. "We really think that he has a lot of upside and I think he learned a tremendous amount during the last four months.
  20. If this was Toledo or Akron, I'd be against it. Bowling Green only has a population of 30,028 and with students away for Thanksgiving, I believe this is a great idea. The Crew own the stadium so it's a win for them as well.
  21. Terry Bowden brings a lot of excitement into this area, the credit goes to him. The Beacon Journal is just doing its job trying to feed off that excitement. I'm not trying to be a negative nancy here, but George Thomas and the Beacon's poor history with the Zips is hard to forget. Thank you Terry Bowden for getting the Beacon on the Zips bandwagon.
  22. Looks like George Thomas is a typical bandwagon follower. Give credit to Terry Bowden, he's getting people excited for Akron American Football.
  23. “With students away from campus for Thanksgiving Break, the Buffalo game became an opportunity for us to take BGSU on the road to one of our most populated alumni areas,” said Athletics Director Greg Christopher. “We view this as more than a football game and truly a university-wide effort and event. The Crew are excited about the partnership and we look forward to the unique event.” Crew Stadium to host college football game between BGSU and Buffalo on Nov. 23
  24. What's the pre-game plan?
