  1. I think I voted 'no' when I created this, I would vote 'yes' today
  2. If tickets are sold for $10 with $5 parking and the average fan spending $2 at concessions (some spend 0 so 2 seems conservative), then it would require 3,676 fans per game, or 22,058 for one game to pay Ianello's contract. An honest estimate for real attendance this year would be in the range of 4,000 - 6,000. I don't believe a single game this year had more than 10,000, while some games looked like there were no more than 2,000 at the game. There is a lot of money to be made to pay for Ianello's buyout from bringing in a coach that can put butts in the seats. Anyone that can't stomach the costs to buyout Ianello, remember that an increase of 3,676 people per game pays for it. The serious problem Akron will face not firing Ianello is bringing people back in the future. Firing Ianello now sends a clear message to the community that losing isn't tolerated. Tom Wistrcill needs to fire Ianello on Saturday and apologize to the Akron community.
  3. Columbus 2011 season average attendance is their worst since being in the MLS. Average attendance: regular season/playoffs 1996: 18,950/20,807 1997: 15,043/11,304 1998: 12,275/12,094 1999: 17,696/10,983 2000: 15,451/Missed Playoffs 2001: 17,551/20,883 2002: 17,429/11,624 2003: 16,250/Missed Playoffs 2004: 16,872/15,224 2005: 12,916/Missed 2006: 13,294/Missed Playofs 2007: 15,230/Missed Playoffs 2008: 14,622/17,613 2009: 14,447/10,109 2010: 14,641/10,322 2011: 12,185 But Akron didn't do so hot either: If you throw the Zips attendance into the equation, Akron is definitely a market to lean on.
  4. they passed us in average attendance this year
  5. I think this sign is the appropriate sign today
  6. More details on the watch party group at the Barley House tomorrow, http://www.facebook.com/events/220031701401605/
  7. we scored a touchdown against Buffalo's backups.
  8. We need to send a message to the university. Facebook is the cheapest (Free) and easiest way to reach people. Please join so we can send a strong message to Tom Wistrcill that this community does not tolerate being one of the worst football programs in the NCAA. Message me if you would like to be an admin. http://www.facebook.com/groups/184462058307199/
  9. we are almost 10% there, let's hit 1,000 !!! any chance we could change the group so people don't have to be "approved"? I tried, I have the box unclicked where it says Only admins can approve requests to join. I can make you an admin if you want to tinker with it. The group is set to Open to all, I think facebook requires approval. Anyone can approve though, I think.
  10. we are almost 10% there, let's hit 1,000 !!!

  14. Just found this one.. Fire Ianello I just created one, might have to merge them http://www.facebook.com/groups/18446205830...tif_t=group_r2j
  15. ok, I did it, Facebook has a Fire Ianello group, http://www.facebook.com/groups/184462058307199/
  16. Looks like Ianello is going to have that 'classy' speech again for Buffalo's coach after the game. Dance party after the game
  17. read that article and it looks like this is something they discuss every year at these meetings? The problem we have this year is the $2,000 spending limit football and basketball players are going to get. If expenses are going to be cut, soccer is going to be exposed to those cuts.
  18. The cheapest and easiest way to reach people to send a message isn't being utilized. Where's the FIRE Ianello or FIRE Wistrcill groups/events on facebook?? Are fans seriously wanting them fired?
  19. I'm shocked that there isn't a FIRE IANELLO or FIRE Wistrcill group/event on facebook. The cheapest and easiest way to reach people and send a message isn't being utilized??
  20. I prefer a place were both the MLS Cup and the Akron game are on at the same time.
  21. The Crew do not have a single Zip on their roster, but at least they give us recognition here and there. Thomas Schmitt http://www.thecrew.com/news/2011/11/crew-s...-thomas-schmitt Chad Barson http://www.thecrew.com/news/2011/11/crew-s...ile-chad-barson
  22. the only option to watch the game is through the stream? So we'll have to find a place that can hook several tv's up to a computer.
  23. Attendance for other teams against Akron: Cal St. Fullerton @Northridge 539 Cal St. Northridge 1097 St. Louis 4637 Tulsa 795 Western Michigan 1431 UC Santa Barbara 4340 Michigan 750 Buffalo 316 Florida Atlantic 453 Total 14358 Average 1595 Our attendance for every team except for UC Santa Barbara should be higher than their season averages. It will be interesting to see how many people SMU can get to the game.
  24. looks like this is never used for games?? http://zipsnation.org/forums//index.php?autocom=chatsigma
