they're obviously boosting the numbers for this. Not sure what the exact purpose is for the attendance requirement, especially when the NCAA allows universities to meet it through loopholes. Is it for lying to the general public and media? To hide the truth to the local population that this program is struggling to utilize tax dollars? I guess a 54.5% increase makes it harder for a tax payer to complain about the use of tax dollars. I doubt the University of Akron football team is in the black. Yay! for the 54.5% increase and the 'process.'

I stand corrected, average attendance is up 54.5% this year. Woot Woot!!

Final average attendance for the year: 15,734 (54.5% increase over last year!!!!!!) The final home game official attendance was 19,899, which is the best over the past 2 years, the 3rd best over the past 4. Despite Akron's poor results on the field, official attendance has been extremely good this year. A 54.5% increase is a huge positive. Go Zips!!

There are a few that are willing to risk another year on him because the contract he's currently under would require a financial loss. I believe it costs more to keep him and i come from an accounting background. Tom is going to keep him, ive accepted and do not plan on supporting this team until Ianello is fired.

Porter seems pretty confident about Akron's chances making it to the tournament. It will be interesting to see if we get at least one home game.

The MAC is a serious contender for West Virginia's soccer program. We can either work against helping the MAC grow or help build it brick by brick. Would be nice to see the MAC add another school that has a soccer program.

football program is garbage which hurts the chances for basketball and soccer to move up. I don't believe soccer makes enough money for the MAC to go out and actively recruit other schools to join.

Maybe they figure people could go to the soccer game before heading to watch some high school football playoffs? Other than getting out of work in time to make it to the game. What time is the game Sunday?for soccer, I'd be more concerned about Akron playing during the same time as the USMNT than high school football.
