  1. A lot of college players already play in the PDL league.
  2. although a lot of programs don't have men's soccer, they do have women's because of Title IX. With the new $2,000 spending allowance per player (which will probably only go to football/basketball players), they'll need to cut costs in other places. Because most schools have women's soccer, there are huge cost savings in this.
  3. btw, there is a topic on West Virginia and Louisville soccer's future on BigSoccer http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1841165
  4. Topdrawersoccer shows 5 teams from Conference USA being ranked for the playoffs. With Marshall and Kentucky, you'd think that Conference USA is their likely destination. http://www.topdrawersoccer.com/college-soc...nce-usa/cfid-10 Is there any benefit in combining with CUSA for soccer?? Both conferences have soccer only membershipstravel budget could be an issue.

  6. scores again on a well deserved pk making it 2-0 for Sporting KC
  7. He just scored a playoff goal against Colorado to give Sporting KC a 1-0 lead.
  8. attendance wasn't that bad, 2,958 announced. The stands were filled all around. I think the biggest variance in attendance comes from the student section but it was Halloween, a lot of students were partying. A lot of parents were taking their children trick-or-treating. According to a friend, there were plenty of empty seats at the Horse Shoe yesterday even though they were playing Wisconsin. They go by tickets sold as well.Akron Soccer average attendance is currently up 3% over last year. It's a positive. We had 20+ tailgating for the Bowling Green and Wake Forest game, let's make our goal the 30's for Michigan State.Anything can be sugar coated, but, it's fallen off dramatically over the last several games, and is absolutely shattering the numbers you had predicted, and even the numbers I had hoped for. We can blame it on anything we want...but...Trick or Treating?? Everyone has been able to walk right up to the ropes behind the goal for several games now. It was Senior Night last night, for God's sake. Some blame it on the "MAC portion of the schedule", which isn't a valid argument when we go under 3,000 for Penn State and Wake Forest as well. And again, that's just an "announced" number. Maybe it's hard for some people to take, but I am sure it's not a coincidence that a couple of losses, a couple of ties, and a drop in national ranking has caused a lot of "frontrunners" to drop off the bandwagon.I haven't updated the attendances for other teams for last 2 weeks, but we were #2 in the nation 2 weeks ago. If we're not in the top 2, we're most likely still in the top 5 of the nation. Brick by brick we'll build our tradition. We have the tailgating thing going now.
  9. btw, the referee was Christopher Koloffon, who does a lot of Big Ten games. He made a lot of poor calls yesterday.

  11. first time, something to build onSecond time:
  12. hope to see everyone in Lot 9 again.
  13. can't argue with that. the 2 pt conversion was insanity though.I'm surprised people are still puzzled by the decisions this coach makes. We should come to expect poor coaching as the norm.
  14. Anyone want to guess the attendance for this game? I'm thinking they'll announce a number higher than 14,000
  15. the football game should be over with around 2:30-3:00 so 4 shouldn't be a problem.
  16. i will be, let's plan for 4:00 in lot 9
  17. Saturday, lets do it again!!!
  18. this was a huge success, met fcnbuffalo, crew8, ando, and zach. Every game
  19. 40% chance of rain with drop in temperatures starts at 5 so be prepared incase it rains. http://www.weather.com/weather/hourbyhour/graph/USOH0008
  20. updated the chart.
  21. I believe Crew8 is bringing one, I have a small charcoal grill I can bring as well if needed.
  22. The MAC should be looking into a merger with the Sub Belt Conference right now. The WAC wouldn't make geographical sense. If not a merger with the Sun Belt, steal a few teams from the FCS because if things don't change, the MAC could end up a FCS conference.
  23. I made an error, the Michigan State vs Western Michigan game is not the last Big Ten vs MAC match-up. Akron plays Michigan State on Nov 2nd, which will be the only B10 v MAC match-up left in the season.
  24. Take a look at the chart, Akron is only 30% of it. You can see that other MAC teams are beating the Big Ten.
