  1. We should all refrain from going at each other, and instead focus our energy in a united front against Ianello.
  2. Comparing games between our geographical conference rival2 teams in the MAC have a better RPI than the top Big Ten team
  3. New England is now in the market for a coach
  4. So far there's nothing on Sinisa."The Impact confirmed last week that defenders Philippe Billy and Cameron Knowles, midfielders David Testo and Luke Kreamalmeyer, as well as forwards Ali Gerba, Pierre-Rudolph Mayard and Marco Terminesi will not be in the side next season."http://m.goal.com/s/en-us/news/2723409/
  5. They are projecting 2 MAC teams for the tournament, when was the last time the MAC sent 2 teams to the tournament?
  6. Could not find some stats from the minor leagues. I probably missed a couple minor league players but this was done for the MLS'ersThe Total column only includes MLS stats.
  7. I think Caleb Porter should be involved in the selection committeeIs this a bait post? Love Porter and the soccer program, but he should have very little (if any) input on personnel decisions in other sports.the man knows how to win. He might be able to find someone that understands how to win in football.
  8. I think Caleb Porter should be involved in the selection committee
  9. Weather was the cause for the Penn State game, but temperatures weren't too bad for Hartwick. The casual fans will eventually turn into hardcore fans, the biggest change in attendance seems to be coming from the student section. I believe adding additional seating would help. Does anyone know the exact number of seating available for FE/CC? BTW, I overheard someone working the ticket stand say over 1,300 season tickers were sold. So at worst, Akron's attendance would be 1,300.
  10. I love this picture!!!
  11. I love this thread!! Pete Kwiatkowski or Brent Pease from Boise State. I would love to see them bring Boise's philosophies and mimic them here.
  12. what do you expect from a coach that shoves his game plan up his you know what just joking, have a laugh
  13. There is an alternative that is cheaper and more enjoyable. Heck, you don't even have to pay for parking. I would only go to a few soccer games here and there over the past 6-7 years but I converted 100% this year by buying season tickets. Have not missed a single game and have had more fun at the soccer games than I ever did watching football (except for the Motor City Bowl). I played football my entire life and have followed Akron football since high school. I even became a cheerleader for a couple years just to get closer to the field and be a part of the program. But soccer is now my new #1 sport. I'm not saying soccer is for everyone, but there are alternatives to find happiness with the Zips. BTW, basketball starts soon. If you want happiness, good luck finding it with Akron Football.
  14. the story was on the front page of ESPN's side news yesterday
  15. Point taken. I guess I should pay more attention.Just trying to be a little sarcastic with a poster who has posted the same thing for the last 4 weeks. I probably should have just repeated what we did last week...just provide what was for dinner (I know... is poor grammar)It's not easy being an Akron Football fan. A lot of us believe it's only going to get worse under Ianello. I've realized that we're stuck with him for at least another year or 2, and it's very hard to stomach. I understand you still have hope that Ianello will turn things around, but a lot of us don't. We have sufficient reason to blame this on Ianello. We are all passionate Akron fans here. It's not easy to do nothing when you know what's causing the problem.Hiring Ianello was a step backwards for the program and it's going to be awhile until we see a step forward.
  16. Good News: Akron has not dropped in the rankings and we're still #182. Bad News: Youngstown State is ranked #135 and Kant State is ranked #164
  17. What do your eyes tell you? They have clever accountants. Ticket revenues are up, but concession and parking revenues are most likely down.
  18. You paying more attention in English class??Grammar smack is about as lame as it gets......sorry professor...apparently not everyone has the impressive IQ that you possess....his point it well takenthe team sucks, the coach is abysmal...and some posters are dbags When someone posts the same thing week after week after week I think a little sarcasm is justified. So...respectfully KMA"You paying more attention in English class??"You might want to ask that same question to yourself.
  19. updated the first page with this chart: Attendance is up 13% over last year. Not sure if we're still ranked 2nd in the nation, I'll update those numbers later.
  20. 1st page is updated with this chart: Attendance is up 25% this year over last year.
  21. If this is true, TW should be shown the door. There should be weekly evaluations of performance. If true, this shows me that TW can make the easy (stupid) decision of suspending a coach who had a MINOR violation, but he can't make the big decisions. If true, he can make the easy decision of hiring a friend, but can't make the hard decision to fire a friend; or even worse, to question the decision making of a friend. He can make the easy decision to cancel a golf outing, but...I have no idea where I'm going with this one....something to do with things that don't really matter.....anyhow....Akron football may be dead and buried by then? It might be dead already and the rotting corpse is stinking up the joint. I'm serious. We don't even compete well against MAC schools. 20 points in a college football game is unacceptable. At the pace we are going, the Zips will score 198 points this season. More than last year, but less than 20 per game. They give fans nothing to cheer about. When the most fun people have is at the tailgate, there is a huge problem with the program. The real problem is there isn't anyone around to smell the rotting corpse...How many people were at the game to smell it?reported attendance this year is up 25% over last year.
  22. Wow. Two of the top 3 ranked teams in the country couldn't draw more than that in the hot-for-soccer ACC? Not good.I think the timing of this game was the problem. I watched the 2nd half on ESPNU because I didn't realize it started so early, at 5 pm I think. I thought it would be a 7 pm start. Ben Speas had a number of shots (name mentioned a lot by the announcers), but did not score.Ben Speas and McKalley Tulloch are not Zips because they would not conform to coach Porter's style. He mentioned this at his interview today.Where/when is said interview available?Did he talk about his new gig at all? Any more details from this conference would be appreciated. I have little doubt that it was the most exciting thing that happened in Zips athletics today. I wish I could have gone but I'm in Cincitucky visiting my friend this weekend.try this first http://www.box.net/shared/slnxlk0ev7velsvscn9j
  23. the event is now on facebook http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=130347757070895
  24. How'd he feel about the FG attempt, down by 20 in the 4th qtr? Love cutting the margin from 20 to 17 with 8 minutes left. Nice job Rob. Way to quit. FU and your process.wasn't able to listen to the 4th, went to Boo at the Zoo instead. I'm going to replay the ESPN3 telecast to see what the announcers were saying just for the heck of it. Is there still anyone in the Znation that doesn't believe Ianello is not cut out for the head coaching job?
  25. Frenchy seems to be losing his patience with Ianello. He wasn't happy about the 3rd and 1 pass and then the 4th and 1 punt in the 3rd.
