  1. Hopefully this will allow the Tribe to become competitive again.
  2. I met Jerry a few times. Although his coaching record at the collegiate level isn't all that great, He's a good, decent Christian man who cares deeply for his players, family, and friends.

  4. Looking good! Merry Christmas Z.I.P.
  5. How did Detroit not make this list? The last time I drove through that place, it looked like someone dropped a bomb on it.
  6. This is definitely a black eye. Does anyone know if the naming rights to the FB stadium have an expiration date, or are they forever. I know with most venues they are usually 10-20 years.
  7. I wonder if coach Dambrot is considering playing him some at power forward. I would love to see the "twin towers" combination.
  8. ...and man it's tough to accept the fact that beating FIU would be considered an upset, but that's the state of our program. I was thinking the same thing. 23 1/2 point dogs to a freaking Sunbelt school! It just goes to show how deep of a hole that iCoach put us in.
  9. Very thorough, but no mention of Mangum or Commack, arguably our two best players on defense.
  10. UCF was 5-7 last year. I still believe we lose this one, but I'll take the Zips and the points.
  11. It's easy to just look at how they pretty much finished last year (With the exception of UMaSS) and go with that as your prediction. Like Cap'n said, he likely didn't see a single practice. Not only from us, but probably all of the schools. He's a media hack. Who cares what he thinks. It seems like every year these predictions are just a carbon copy (Or close to it) of how the teams finished the previous year. I would not be surprised if the Zips finished fourth in the MAC East. UMass will likely not win a single game and will not be competetive in any of their games including the one against us. THey are still and FCS team even with a Pagel at QB.
  12. Nice job by the reporter of making it obvious that he read his entire report.
  13. I agree with you. I voted for "still mad that he left Cleveland" I am actually happy for him, but will always be bitter for what he did to the City of Cleveland. This was another punch to the gut for Cleveland. Very similar to the Ravens winning the super bowl just a few seasons removed from Cleveland. No City in America has suffered greater than Cleveland and this is another reminder. I do not know GP1's connection to Pittsburgh, nor do I care, but if he's from there, then okay. If not from there, then he's a bandwagon fan. Just like anyone else who roots for teams that are not from their hometown, or from where they currently reside.
  14. +1 Glad I am in Southern California where I don't have to watch and listen to the Cleveland media. I hope they exit the tournament quickly!
  15. Those are all good choices. I went with possession with intent to distribute, but I think a case can be made for "All of the above".
  16. What kind of a player was he coming out of high school? Does anybody know? I would have to think if he played in the PAC12 he would have to be at least a 3 star recruit. Nonetheless, If Arizona State wanted him, he's probably a pretty good player. We need bodies. We'll take him.
  17. I loved it. Thanks much!
  18. Bob Hayes - Dallas Cowboys - Dubbed the world's fastest man at the time. I believe he played in the 60's and 70's Renaldo Neimiah - San Francisco 49er's - Another olympian. Played 2-3 seasons in the NFL. Career was not as illustrious as Hayes. Played during the late 80's, maybe early 90"s. Not sure. I'm sure there have been a few others who have made the switch at the collegiate level, but these are the only two that I know of how made it to the NFL. Bottom line, its rare that these guys succeed, but it has happened.
  19. Put it in Cuyahoga Falls where the old Ascot Park horse racing facility used to be (State and Bath Roads).
  20. No Brainer. Last year's win over Can't. Hopefully we'll have two more to add to the list at the end of this weekend.
  21. Western Michigan is garbage and Can't is one of the better teams in the league. I expect the Flashes to win this one by double digits. I would much rather face WMU in the semis. Can't will be a tough out.
  22. Sunday, because I don't want to see us lose another game.
  23. If you're telling me that there aren't at least 30,000 rabid, big-time college football fans within a 45 minute drive of the stadium - then I'll say, "ok - you win. Ya'll are crazy to have built this $60 million stadium etc. etc..." Allot more than that, but they are all BCS and Big Ten fans and root for OSUcks. The sad reality is that the average college football fan in Northeast Ohio views the MAC on about the same level as FCS or maybe even DII or III. Akron needs to jump at the first opportunity to get out of this crappy conference. Basketball is a perfect example. Both Akron and Can't have been winning consistently for years now and yet, few locals, other than a few students and alumni, even care. This is evident by the attendance. If average Joe Akron cared, then every game at the JAR and MAC Center (Relatively small venues) would be ellouts. Until Akron starts beating OSU and other BCS level schools in football and basketball regularly, like they do in soccer, attendance will continue to be low. We all know that as long as Akron remains in the MAC, the odds of that happening are slim to say the least. Soccer games are well attended because Akron is a big time major power in that sport. I sure wish it weren't this way, but it is.
  24. Good point! That conference has lost allot of luster in recent years. Still, it would be far better to go there than to stay in the crappy MAC. Even conference USA would be a huge upgrade to where we are right now.
