  1. I don't care if we lose this game, but I need to see 2 things. - Middle of the field passes - More touches for our RBs
  2. It's not about "calming down" and it's not about being an overly negative Nancy troll. It's about being frustrated. Did anyone expect Akron to beat Kentucky coming into the season? No. However, it was circled with a "maybe" next to it based on what we saw from our offense last year. What we are witnessing is a complete regression on offense that is way closer to Arth Ball than supposed JoeMo Ball. That is what's so damn frustrating about that game last night. We're an embarrassment on the side of the ball that draws interest, draws fans, and is supposed to be the absolute strength of the head coach. What's even more frustrating is Kentucky tried to, at the very least, allow that game to be a one score loss if not an Akron upset. It was right there for most of the game, and only got away from us after we failed to capitalize on a plethora of opportunities. Our offense looks like I'm watching with DirecTV from the mid-00s on a stormy day - constantly buffering, never smooth. Gaining 2 yds is incredibly difficult and everything is side to side - not up the field. It's one of the worst offenses I've ever witnessed, and that's not hyperbole. To top it off, we have don't have a reliable, DI kicker, so even 3 points on a stalled drive is difficult. I don't care as much about the shoot-yourself-in-the-foot crap; those few plays are amplified with every play mattering in our garbage offense. Our defense will win us some games this year, and I'm hoping we have enough on offense to win a few more in the MAC. But man, I am incredibly frustrated right now. I expected to progress this year, not regress, at least offensively.
  3. Turned it off. We should be 2-1, maybe even 3-0; Kentucky is not good. Instead, we're barely 1-2 and wondering why our offense is unwatchable. We don't have a QB, our play-calling is atrocious, and have consistently failed to finish drives.
  4. The official GIF of Akron football...
  5. A DOWN THE FIELD PASS! WOW. That was also a really bad throw. I see why we don't push the ball down the field.
  6. INT! This defense is keeping us in it. Please offense. Please freaking do something.
  7. I think the ineligible receiver downfield was the TE who caught the ball. The refs have never seen a down-the-field pass from Akron, so they figured it was illegal. It's comical at this point.
  8. Why is Perez our kicker?
  9. Our play calls are garbage. If JoeMo is still calling plays, I'm not so sure I wouldn't mind seeing the young OC take over. Not sure what JoeMo is doing.
  10. Who would've thought a JoeMo coached team would struggle the most - by far - on offense? I love our defense.
  11. Who on here was complaining about Golden returning punts/kicks? You win.
  12. This already isn't fun.
  13. Hate to break it to the 4 Ypsilanti Eagles fans out there - they're not good. WMU in a dog fight with Iowa midway through the second half - 7-7.
  14. Let me give you my Venmo/PayPal next time you want to throw away money.
  15. Great article from Terry. The University has a list of players from the last 2 decades that need their jerseys in the rafters soon. Zeke, LCJ, and Freeman. Special era of Zips basketball. Impressive team GPA as well.
  16. Thank goodness you included the photo of the Fear the Roo flag. Otherwise, Brent Musberger's voice may be referring to something else (although the Akron flag is equally as beautiful).
  17. "I was coaching an arts & crafts preschool football team in an awful city. JoeMo came into Akron, and I knew it wouldn't be long before I'd start losing the Wagon Wheel, too. Truth be told, I probably would've taken a job on any other staff just to get out of there, but when Coach Prime was hired, I knew there wouldn't be an opportunity better than that. Who wouldn't want to work with Coach Prime in beautiful Boulder, CO? Can you imagine my offensive scheme with the top talent he can attract? Now that I've gone over this, your question is really stupid and your need to ask it shows either lazy journalistic practices or a lack of understanding for football & sports." - Sean Lewis (probably)
  18. Agreed. I also want to see slants and more quick hitters in motion.
  19. That coach must really hate Stanford and Marshall.
  20. Our offense is full of playmakers. Playmakers need the ball to make a play, which means the QB has to get them the ball. That's the issue. It's not a lack of talent.
  21. Hopefully getting Dyson back is the switch that needs flipped.
