  1. I'm sure this will end up in the Recruiting section at some point, but I figured the story itself deserved main page eyes. Matt Futch is the Boys Basketball coach over at CVCA. Darryl Peterson, former Akron player, has his son playing for Coach Futch. And boy is Futch lucky. Darryn Peterson, son of Darryl Peterson, is a top 5 player in the country for the class of 2025. He has received shoutouts from LeBron, and just set a CVCA record with 51 points in a single game. He holds offers from Akron as well as some of the top programs in the country. Darryl Peterson is the assistant coach at CVCA, and his oldest son - Darryl III - is a football player for Wisconsin. Very athletic family. This will be a fun story to follow. https://www.beaconjournal.com/story/sports/high-school/basketball/2022/07/20/darryn-peterson-2025-top-college-basketball-recruit-ohio-high-school-cvca-nj-scholars-elite-aau/10084436002/
  2. Ben Iannacchione figures to be the real deal. He's back in his P5 comfort zone. Good for him. Do we know if we're promoting from within?
  3. 6'3" WR from the state of Indiana. According to his bio, #3 ranked WR in the state. Also according to his bio, runs a sub-4.5 40.
  4. What percentage of our class from each area of recruit (high school, JUCO, transfer portal) do you expect to sign tomorrow?
  5. Yes. Big EDGE guy. 6'5" 230 lbs. Could stand to put on 10-20 lbs more in muscle. Ranked the #1 JUCO EDGE in Michigan, and #4 JUCO EDGE in the country, if I'm reading 247 correctly. Several MAC offers (Buffalo, Balls, Akron), and a slew of other FBS/FCS offers (UMASS being the other FBS offer, unless Tarleton State is also FBS and I didn't realize).
  6. Did we know about Randy Cochran transferring?
  7. Class of 2019 for high school, from Mississippi. JoeMo offered him at Miss St.
  8. We crushed their spirit. That's what I'm gonna tell myself.
  9. He has a home in Marshall if he wants it, according to their announcers haha. I like Sammy. I think he'll figure out his place. When we look back on the beginning of the season, there was unfairly a lot asked of him. We were an 8 man rotation at best. With the emergence of Kobe and Tavari, we're 9-10 deep.
  10. That was... uhhh... phew. Good thing for Maine: quick turnaround as they play the Suckeyes on Wednesday.
  11. Florida RB. Former 5 star recruit out of high school. Grad transfer.
  12. Ask and you maybe shall receive... DB from Buffalo.
  13. UCONN hasn't lost yet. What's even more amazing - their smallest margin of victory is 10 points against OK State, and they've played Oregon, Bama, Iowa State, Florida, and Butler as well.
  14. Now THAT'S a kicker. What a leg.

  16. Former BUGS coach Louis Orr has passed away.
  17. Not sure where to put this, but Tre Bell's (our CB coach) younger brother (Jaylen Bell) is one of the top CBs in the class of 2025, and already committed to LSU. Between him and JoeMo's son, there is some real talent in our coaching staff's family. Speaks to the staff that JoeMo assembled, and hopefully we'll reap the benefits at some point.
  18. Talk about using your geographical advantage. "Well, we're closer to the other side of The Pond than anyone else."
  19. Peanuts for P5 schools, yes. However they're massive checks for G5s.
  20. I think DEF is where they tend to fall more often than not. Less niche and more versatile on that side of the ball.
  21. Can't speak to #1. #2 Athletes tend to play WR, DB, and LB. TE and EDGE are also possibilities if the size is there.
