Up to BGSU -9.5. Hmmmmm…
Liberty was -26.5. These lines are useless at times.

Actually, that was a 7-0 home win over Howard (not James Madison a 2nd time 😉)
@TennZip this is the last time I trust anything you post. 😉😂

It is mentioned in the second post in the thread.
The news I was referring to was the new and improved head coach, while the last head coach beat them twice in a row.

They played James Madison twice - and back-to-back to boot?

1G: X > Clarke
2G: Tribble > Prather Jr. > Johnson
3G: Hankerson > Dawson
F: Freeman > Lyles/Mosengo
F: Hunter
There's my starting 5 and my guess at the rotation.

I don't know if the news got lost in the corn fields for them, but they lost the last 2 meetings to an Arth-led squad that only ever beat BG at the FBS level. Arth is no longer here, and Moorehead is leagues above most coaches - if not all coaches - in the MAC. Failing to mention the coaching change within the first two pages of the game thread is embarrassing.

The problem is there is no one network that owns the right to simulcast all FBS games. The NFL owns RedZone so when they reached a TV deal agreements with Fox/CBS they reserved the right to show live highlights. There is no centralized party to do the same for college football
The NCAA could easily put together a similar package.

You can add this to the growing list of reason fans don't attend games. Nothing worse then being pumped about a football game that turns into a flag fest. I only wish I could watch college football condensed (40min) versions like the NFL.
Side note: I wish there was a college equivalent to NFL RedZone. I know there are way, WAY more games to flip between, but I think it would be doable after the number is condensed due to blowouts.

early weather forecast is 65 with scattered showers
70 now and partly cloudy, with a 12% chance of rain. Beautiful, and will probably change about 7 more times before Saturday.
Scot Loeffler will return to the BUGS sideline after missing last week's game against Mississippi State due to health reasons. Hope everything's ok.
This will be my oldest daughter's first University of Akron sporting event. Let's make it a good one!

Students are not allowed to swear, campus is dry, they must attend Chapel twice a week at least, and students get fined if their room is dirty! Yay college!
And go cheer for a team with a head coach who has a squeaky clean past.
Oh wait...

I'm out of Likes, but I agree. This is a much better coached team this year. There is better talent than we had before, but in football you're looking at 30+ key players and it will take some time to build that roster up.
It's easy to get frustrated, but this team went 3-27 under Arth and Rodriguez. We won 10% which is slightly over one game per season. There's the old saying Rome wasn't built in a day, a mid-major college football team certainly falls under that rule.
Let's get ready for some MACtion. Or whatever the buzz phrase is this year.
It's still MACtion, because the MAC is so innovative that it uses a slogan it came up with for a hashtag over a decade ago during the peak of Twitter.

The announcers for a period there kept hammering home JoeMo's comments about the state of the program when he took over. I don't know if any of us realized how bad of shape we were in. So much worse than I imagined, and it's showing. You can see the coaching improvement, but because of the coaching improvement, the talent deficiency is more and more evident. Our offense is ready to rock and roll, but the offensive line isn't. Our defense has fight, but we're thin on the line and in the secondary.
Continually losing to FBS opponents is frustrating, but this was our first FBS opponent under JoeMo that was against a G5 opponent. Liberty had more established talent than us, but we were in it. We will win in the MAC, and look for us to make some serious noise across the board starting next year. These games turn into wins, and P5 games will become closer.
We were better in week 2 than week 1. We didn't get worse in week 3 (Tennessee is a different monster). And we were better in week 4 than the previous 3 weeks.
Go Zips.

Great fight. Just not enough horses in the barn. We will get there, and are certainly trending in the right direction.
In JoeMo We Trust. Go Zips!

It doesn't necessarily need to be said based on Freeze's past, but he's a moron.
Why would you throw it?
-
Bummer. Just not enough in the trenches tonight to pull off the upset.
-
New QB for Liberty.
-
Can't waste all these chances. OLine isn't where it needs to be.
-
Nice run by Wiley there. Hit the hole harder than usual and got us some breathing room
-
Sheesh. Heck of a play by Liberty special teams.
-
Another stop. Take 2 for the offense.
-
Awful series. Line failed us.
-
Defense has been HUGE the 2nd Quarter and half.

TOUCHDOWN!!!!!!!
Game 5: Akron ZIPS vs. BGSU - Score Prediction (POLL)
in Akron Zips Football
Posted · Edited by Let'sGoZips94
Conservative Zips by 1 score.
However, I am really looking forward to seeing this offense against similar level talent for once. Liberty is the barometer by which I can most closely judge where our program is.
Does BUGS have a similar or better RB than Dae Dae Hunter (Liberty RB)? Probably not.
Does BUGS have a better front four on defense than Liberty? Probably not.
Those, along with poorly-timed drops and an INT, were why we lost to Liberty. We were 26.5 point underdogs, and that line never changed even after Liberty's starting QB was announced to be out. If our offense gets going, I think this could be a 2+ score victory by the Zips. However, I will error on the side of shooting ourselves in the foot a couple of times to keep it closer to a 1 score Akron victory.
