  1. Welcome to college athletics during COVID. I was watching Butler the other day (they were at home against I believe a top 25 team). Hinkle Fieldhouse was half empty.
  2. I said this exact same thing in early December when we were discussing Getsy as a candidate (earlier in this thread). It really is crazy to think about considering where they're all at now.
  3. Agreed. 20-25k on the weekend games, 15-18k on the week night games. That would be fantastic. I also think we have the opportunity to push closer to 20k on week nights if we become a Cincy/Coastal Carolina/UCF/ULL type of G5 program - 1-2 losses on the season, beating P5 schools, etc. Moorhead is going to run a fun offense with talent at every position. People like watching good football, and good football is going to be in Akronites' backyards.
  4. If the trends like we're seeing at Jackson State continue, they'll be forced to put more effort into non-P5/AAC schools.
  5. Here is the updated schedule just released by the program... BG - Thursday, 1/20 Miami - Thursday 2/3 NIU - Thursday 2/17
  6. Should Kofi Sarkodie be on this list? According to his Wiki... Kofi Kwarteng Frempong Sarkodie (born March 22, 1991) is an American soccer player who currently plays for Austin Bold FC in the USL Championship.
  7. HAHA! That's fantastic. How has he not been canned yet? Side note: Real tough guys do this as an intimidation tactic...
  8. It's 8:33am and... CAN'T STATE STILL SUCKS! The above is from their recent Famous Idaho Potato Bowl appearance. Truly living up to the marketing tagline "Can't Read, Can't Write, Can't State."
  9. If the visit still happens after his GT visit on the 21st, I don't think it matters what the weather is. Excellent weather, P5, and closer to home. Vs Moorhead, Moorhead's offense/offensive mind, immediate playing time, and no less of an opportunity to make a name for yourself/get to the League. Two very different priority lists. Let's hope the latter is what is most important to Mr. Lewis. Side note: I wonder if he has any connections with Reno Ferri since Syracuse offered him presumably while Ferri was still there?
  10. What an offer list! There are only two schools he is warm on: Georgia Tech and Akron. Other offers (at least at one point) include Syracuse, Kentucky, Pitt, Indiana, Coastal Carolina, Boston College, Arkansas, App State, and Southern Miss.
  11. Love this team. Their commitment for the full 40 minutes is what stands out. We beat OU with Trimble. PCCC falling to NIU is hilarious.
  12. Looks like he was originally a Moorhead commit. Wow. Wow. Wow. This is fun.
  13. Getsy pumps... He throws for Hixon and it is... CAUGHT! FOR A TOUCHDOWN! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Good luck to Luke in this interview process!
  14. This is impressive and matches the ambition it took to get Moorhead.
  15. Or is it selfish to want a player to risk a career-altering injury for the betterment of the team in a meaningless game, designed in the first place to make money for corporations/media/Universities/NCAA figureheads?
  16. 20 year old kids mitigating risk in order to best preserve millions of dollars in life changing money is not a disturbing trend. What are 994 (really 998) out of the 1000 bowl games about in the first place? Money. Good for Charlie Batch for supporting his alumni. I have zero problems with this. It's been going on for YEARS at the P5 level. Maybe not $1 million directly/so openly, but these kids received all sorts of lifestyle benefits that would equal out to huge sums of money.
  17. If you put their names together, you can spell MAC CHAMPIONSHIPS, BOWL GAME VICTORIES, and KENT STATE SUCKS. Sam Popper is the Director of Player Personnel/Recruiting. He comes from Oregon, where he was the Asst. Director of Recruiting/Offense.
  18. Tremendous praise for him via a Google search. LSU, Wyoming, Kansas, and Pitt experience in recent years. Hardly misguided. The greatest coaches of all time had to come from somewhere, and that somewhere almost always includes being a GA at the beginning of their respective careers. I'm not saying we have the next Nick Saban or Urban Meyer on this staff, but I do believe we have the right guy at the top to identify and develop bright football minds & leaders. Coaching starts at the top, and JoeMo is about as good as it gets at the G5 level. If you look at the staff, the GAs are surrounded by quite a bit of experience. Fessler, for example, will be directly under JoeMo, and surrounded by Reno Ferri and Terry Richardson (multiple decades of experience). On defense, DeLattiboudere and Bell will be under Toth. Not to mention all of the experience on the staff includes P5. It's the perfect mixture of experience and youth in my opinion.
  19. Except Bubba Walther.
  20. Guards' league. PCCC doesn't scare me as much as OU because I don't think they have the compliment to Carry like OU does with BVP/Carter (complimenting Sears).
  21. This is wrong on so many levels. Makes sense, though, given the funding connections between Big Pharma and Universities. Has the CDC included college basketball in its COVID mortality statistics yet? It has been all but dead and extremely hard to enjoy since March 2020.
  22. Didn't realize he even left for Kansas.
  23. I'm not normally a sucker for the BS "by the numbers" graphics that the media likes to fling around like food in a middle school cafeteria food fight, but DAMN are those impressive numbers. What. A. Hire. 6-0 in rivalry games. @seanlewis 👀
  24. What's with the mass exodus at Canada and Directional Michigan - Middle?
  25. It lasted the perfect amount of time because we were able to get Guthrie in here, then land JoeMo.
