  1. Joe Akron - proud of you. Packed house. No Mballa for Buffalo. Their HC is also not there. Akron is without Trimble.
  2. Does anyone know what exactly the roster outlook is for this game? Was the team able to practice much during the 2 week 'Vid hiatus?
  3. Updated. I'll take that BOGO Mickey D's coupon, as I don't think I can personally accomplish the first page of this thread goal. Maybe @akrzips2012 could copy and paste that to his thread-starting comment?
  4. I've been updating this and reposting it every few pages or so. It includes conference experience in their backgrounds. HC: Joe Moorhead; Big East, Big Ten, SEC, Pac12 ST: Allen Tucker; SEC OC: (Moorhead?) QBs: Billy Fessler; Big Ten, SEC RBs: Terry Richardson; Big East, ACC, SEC, NFL WRs: David Gilbertson; AAC, Pac12 TEs: Reno Ferri; ACC, MAC OL: Joel Rodriguez; ACC, CUSA DC: Nick Toth; PAC12, SEC, MWC, CUSA DL: Winston DeLattiboudere; PAC12, CUSA LBs: DBs: Tre' Bell; SEC, ACC
  5. When are we going back to Xi? Toledo at PCCC on Saturday at 2pm. ESPN3. That'll be one to keep an eye on.
  6. Still takes effort for the Vols fans to show up to a meaningless bowl game. Good for them.
  7. I'm excited for this game for the atmosphere. Hoping to be able to make the trip to Rocky Top. This is a fun game and one of the best non-Playoff bowl game atmospheres ever.
  8. Did anyone watch the second half? What changed in the offense? How did it look?
  9. *Postponing. Meaning to be played at a later date, only to be postponed again by the next "variant" (probably). Somehow the medical & virus "experts" we're all supposed to listen to didn't predict/inform these sports leagues of the inevitable surge during flu season. That's why they're so ill-prepared. Never saw this coming... 🙄
  10. It's almost like it's flu season and these kids are in college.
  11. He hasn't been the same since he blew out his knee. Unfortunate, but the truth. He was an All Pro returner with the Rams, and looks like a shell of himself currently.
  12. Live look at NC State's Men's Basketball Coach... (a bit of a stretch, but I will find any excuse in the book to share this classic video of our former DC)
  13. His interview of JoeMo was awesome. University of Akron fight song to start and finish the interview, full of enthusiasm, and Anthony Lima even stated how big of a hire this is. Akron should really considering partnering with Ken to help promote the University a bit more. He has a solid audience base locally and nationally, and is an ACTUAL AKRON FAN. He hates OSUcks.
  14. If we're not, Groce has some 'splaining to do.
  15. Some Oregon fans on Twitter thought JoeMo sucked. It's nice to see Twitter still allows opinion in some areas, no matter how stupid the opinion may seem. Some of JoeMo's transfer commits so far have backgrounds that included All-America/Conference Academic awards. He seems to be targeting talent, intelligence, and good natured kids. I read an article about his situation, which included some questioning what was going on with the program as a whole, as there was additional upper-echelon talent was not seeing the field. I'd be shocked if the "distraction" label is as true as some WVU fans claim.
  16. Transfer from 'Cuse. Per his bio... Career Overview: Stout inside player who has seen increasing time at defensive line - predominantly nose tackle - as his career has gone on ... 17. I'd imagine Ty Thompson is out of our league, even with JoeMo here. Butterfield is from Cali, so he might stay West Coast. Robby Ashford is from Alabama so coming back east might be intriguing. All 3 are some of the top QBs in the country. Pretty incredible QB room.
  18. The MAC is looking like an absolute powerhouse this year. 1. Ohio 2. Toledo 3. Akron 4. Everyone else. 5. Central Michigan. Edit: This is 100% sarcasm, @NWAkron. The MAC sucks aside from potentially OU, Toledo, and Akron.
  19. My life is already better. I feel like a brand new man.
  20. Per Google... The 2-4-5 is ultimately a defense of specialization as the main pass-rushers are going to be the two stand-up edge rushers. The defense deploys them on the edge because that's the easiest way to utilize a pure pass-rusher and they aren't asked to do a great deal other than control the edge and provide pressure. I like the sound of that.
  21. 6'5" 310 lbs. B.I.G. https://voiceofmotown.com/the-curious-case-of-kerry-martin/
  22. That's the Georgia Bulldogs' QB room. Here is the Rambling Wreck's...
  23. Good for him. Closer to home.
  24. Per his UCF bio... Prior to his single season in Colorado Springs, Toth spent five years at Fresno State, the first four as defensive coordinator while also coaching inside linebackers. His defense earned 17 All-Mountain West selections and one 2012 unanimous All-American in safety Phillip Thomas. Thomas was a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award, won the CFPA Defensive Back Trophy and was the Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year after leading the nation with eight interceptions. After having only nine turnovers gained in 2011, the year before Toth’s hiring, Fresno State came back in 2012 and recorded the greatest turnover turnaround in the Football Bowl Subdivision since the turn of the century. Finishing with 35 takeaways in 2012 (ranking fifth in the FBS), the Bulldogs’ differential in turnovers gained in one season under Toth was plus-26. His 2013 defense ranked sixth in the FBS with more than three sacks per game and 40 for the season and also ranked fourth with 8.2 tackles for loss per game. Over the 2012 and 2013 seasons, Fresno State and Stanford were the only schools in the country that ranked in the top 10 in sacks both years. WOW. Toth joined Oregon's staff to reunite with their DC, Tim DeRuyter. Could be this be what the defense looks like? DeRuyter’s 2-4-5 defense emphasizes using defensive ends and outside linebackers in more of a hybrid role.
  25. Not wanting WKU and MTSU was a laughable notion. Someone else said it prior, but both programs would be in the top 3-5 athletic programs if they joined today.
