  1. License Plate or it didn't happen. Did anyone track any Eugene to Akron flights?
  2. Are we seeing any other Transfer Portal appearances? Might help put the puzzle pieces together. I could see Konata Mumpfield staying, assuming we hire Moorhead. I was worried about him leaving for a bigger program, but Moorhead's offense would be fun to play in, I'd imagine. A guy like him could put his name on the NFL's map with a solid QB/play-calling.
  3. Oregon might have a backup that knows Moorhead's offense. 😉 I do wish ZG5 well. I thought he had the potential to be an excellent QB in the MAC.
  4. Oklahoma student reporters gathered video evidence that Spencer Rattler lost the starting job following their game against Texas. The blue checkmark is fulfilling, but not the end-all-be-all in today's crooked "journalism". For all we know, these lower-level sites could have studied Yahoo's previous coaching vacancy reports from years past, and seen a pattern in verbiage that foreshadows said-candidate getting the job. For as much buzz as there is for Moorhead to Akron, there's equal silence for Moorhead to any other vacancy. Possibly telling.
  5. Two more sites citing Yahoo that Akron will be hiring Moorhead. Seem to be very similar - if not identical - articles to the Field Level Media one posted above. https://sportsnaut.com/akron-to-name-oregon-offensive-coordinator-joe-moorhead-as-head-coach/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter https://post.playactionpools.com/report-akron-to-name-oregon-oc-joe-moorhead-as-head-coach/
  6. That was the original headline. For the link text, I copy & pasted the first line of the article to reflect the Yahoo report confusion. Regardless, there is an awful lot of smoke for there not to be a fire here.
  7. Field Level Media: Oregon offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead is expected to be named head coach at Akron, Yahoo Sports reported. Is this accurate, or a misinterpretation of Yahoo's report, naming Moorhead as the top candidate?
  8. I think @LoyalZIP is spot on with "Akron wouldn't do this if it couldn't," as we're tied to multiple P5 coordinators (OSUcks OC, Moorhead, etc.). Clearly there's a goal to make a home run hire. I'd imagine Guthrie, not having football at UWGB, wants to make a splash and his mark in the #1 college sport. Talk about a resume builder. Moorhead returned to Fordham (where he played). He's a WESTERN PA guy (Temple vacancy doesn't scare me; this is also why a failing program should get a head start in its HC search), and has history with Akron. This is not a pipe dream, evident by the volume of reports he's at least our top target, with other reports saying a deal could be done today. This is fun, regardless.
  9. This is the type of turnaround I expect at Akron from our next HC, whomever that may be. .500 or better in year 1, then 3 additional years of excellence. Leave for a P5 school and get that next massive paycheck. I will be thrilled.
  10. Gotta spend money to make money. Commit or get out of the game. Edit: Let me elaborate with spending money on the right guy. Moorhead has an undeniably successful track record, and based on the headlines, this would really turn heads in college football. Bowden turned heads slightly, and the program took a step in the right direction. Ianello and Arth did not. Go all in on THE guy.
  11. Unverified account, but nice to see Joe's name taken off a VT vacancy list...
  12. This. This. THIS. Hit the nail on the head. Can we rename the Info - Kaulig Companies Stadium? Or Leaf Filter Stadium?
  13. The Browns suck, the Indians/Guardians are MIA in free agency, the NBA is tough to watch, and Akron athletics has been disappointing as of late. We need this type of news. Come on Guthrie! Hit the dinger!
  14. We're technically 1-3 against similar competition.
  15. That's the spirit. Akron Athletics said, "Hold my beer. What's this winning you want us to do?"
  16. He's my #2 behind Getsy.
  17. Sympathy failure. Had to come down to the marketing department's level to match what they're capable of marketing.
  18. Silver lining to the crappy basketball these past 2 days... I find solace in knowing Suckeye fans are even more embarrassed by their near loss to us.
  19. At what point do we see one of the freshman guards start playing for the potential scoring boost?
  20. So exactly what did Our Lady of the Elms and the UpWard Basketball League Champion do for this team in between OSUcks and Fordham?
  21. The only thing more annoying than the score is the A10 fan-girl announcing.
  22. Is anyone else seeing a black screen for the Oakland/Vermont game? Edit: Finally started working. Carry on.
  23. Toledo pulls away late, tops a previously undefeated Charlotte team 98-86. Charlotte's 3 wins come against Monmouth, USC Upstate, and App State. They also beat Georgia in a preseason exhibition, 76-65.
