I repeat: OU is not the better team, they just have better guards. They're beatable, but they are good. VP and Sears are going to be trouble in the MAC for as long as they play in Athens. Groce needs to find his next great guard for this team to be more of a threat. Ali cannot be put in positions where he feels like he has to do it all. Has anybody watched practice? What do the redshirt freshman guards look like?

Can't play interior defense more straight up than the Zips have all night. The refs are just calling contact, not the rules by the book. Not having a shooter is killing this team. Also, not nearly enough off-the-ball movement tonight.

The key matchup in this game is our inside presence vs OU's perimeter athleticism. We should dominate down low, and if Ali/Wynn/Tribble/Dawson can play stellar defense on the perimeter, we should win this game.

My dad and I ran through the MAC last night. It blows. OU, Toledo, Buffalo and PCCC are all question marks. Akron is, too. The door is wide open for us to make some noise in March.

Arth most likely will end up with a decent position in football. He has a laundry list of connections and aside from his performance at Akron, nobody has a bad thing to say about him.

Excellent win. Canada was missing a few players, including Mballa, but they played a game more recently. Akron was missing Trimble AND had not played in weeks. Williams and Segu still played and brought more experience between the two of them than all of Akron combined. This was Groce's best coaching job since 2019-20. Hats off to him and the team for getting the job done.
