    In between the Football team's frustrating collapse and the Soccer team being forced to give up home field advantage, it's easy to forget that it's basketball season.Akron takes on EKU tonight in the third game of the Legends Classic. I don't know much about EKU, but I think it's safe to assume that they will put up more of a fight than Urbana, but they should also be more beatable than Pitt.This team continues to progress at an incredible rate. They should win the final two games in the Legends Classic.
    I agree with the fact that this team is progressing at a most stout rate. I think that you add Zeke to this team and who knows, a top 25 rank might be in the picture. However, we need to find a way to be more consistent on the offensive end. Our defense is amazing for how young a team we have. I think we'll do fine, just gotta get the offensive side more consistent. And I don't know about you, but I think we need to play Swiech a little more each game to at least get him some more experience but also to keep the excitement he brings.

    Is everybody still asleep from too much tryptophan? WAKE UP and discuss:1) JD-will he be back?2) Zips D-could we save scholarship money by not fielding a D at all?3) Zips O-did Jacq regress to the point of having to compete for the starting job next Spring?4) InfoSumma-how freaking cool will it be to walk up to the BRAND NEW gates at the first game? 5) Who is your overall team MVP?6) Who is your Yugo Underperformer of the year?For me:1) Yes, albeit with a decent D or we will all rise up against him.2) Tempting to think yes to this one. Can we now switch the unending Bain questions back on?3) Jacq should definitely compete against Rogers for the job next year. He was MUCH better this year, but I want to see less "Bad Jacq", or "Jacq Off" before I'll really love the guy.4) I can NOT wait to see the new facility, and to see the team run onto the field next year. I may become verklempt for a moment.5) Overall team MVP may be Lemon. I'll check back in later for my final call on this one.6) B.     1) I don't know. I don't want him to be here when the new stadium opens up, but we'll just have to see. 2) JUST DITCH THE 3-3-5 or whatever we play. It stops nothing. 3) I thought it real interesting that in pre-game last week before the Pussycats that JD said that Jacq was our for sure QB for next season. I think you have to give Matt Rogers his shot, especially since Jacq has had his many shots and mostly blown them. 4) All I have to say is: NO MORE POLES! 5) I think Dennis Kennedy is my MVP. He's been the most consistent and in my definition of MVP (the person who means the most to the team), DK certainly has meant the most to the Zips. 6) My underperformer(s) is Bowser, the defense, the coaching staff, and Jacq in key situations. Well can't wait for the pole-less INFO next year, and hopefully the start of a new beginning.

    Honestly the MAC is a joke. It is a dead-end conference. National championship in any sport is a pipe dream. We can't even get a soccer field in playing condition? Disgraceful... Sounds like the fields in Chicago are fine. I bet MSU's field was fine. MAC = bush league..MAC schools = bush league. This is soccer for crying out loud. You play it in anything. I'm not even a soccer fan and never attended any of the games but this whole fiasco is pretty disturbing, and it reminds me of the bowl snub and the NIT snub. A MAC school does not deserve a progam rlike our soccer team.

    The sad part of this whole question is there is no reason they don't both play for the Browns -- Hixon was available for the taking when he was cut and the Browns past. On top of that Blackburn was talked about last week as being the heart and soul of their special teams -- now that he is starting they were very concerned about his play on special teams being impacted -- thus they were going to watch him closely. Blackburn was in the Browns camp as a local tryout guy and then cut.Not too hard to tell why the Browns are where they are given these types of decisions.
    Yea, the Browns are stupid, but I'm past that, GO ZIPS!

    They can't spell Special Teams either. Who's the Special Team's coach, fire Him! (I know its JD so he needs to fire himself).

    Totally agree Hip Zip. I think another person who we saw what he's really all about is Nikola Cvetinovic. That guy had a good game against one of the best paint teams we'll see all season, if not the best. We're going to be fine, the shots will fall and the experience will develop. I mean if you stick Zeke in there last night, we might've won because of the rebounding he can do. Good job last night Zips! Let's push this behind us and look forward to Urbana.

    Wow, I disliked BCS schools before, but now I dislike them (at least Pitt) more now. And you know they are just jealous that we got a guy who they wanted, who could kick/will kick their butts, and who will help us majorly. But other than that, let them laugh, let them ignore us. I wanna see what they say after the game, then they can talk or cry. LETS GO ZIPS! MAKE US PROUD!

    Feel a little bad for the basketball team that there won't be as many fans as we play Urbana at 7 that night. But on the other hand how many people do you think will choose the indoor basketball game over the outdoor soccer? I hope the JAR is empty and everyone comes to the tourney game to give us an even bigger edge.
    I wonder if the JAR is open at halftime. :rolleyes: Well either way, good luck Zips.
