i know everyone wants us to play a harder schedule.i do agree with gp that just because we schedule harder teams akron will be better at the end of the season.you play your occ scedule first then all the mac schools.i just don't see how it would be a good idea next year to schedule harder teams.we lose to much in the frontcourt this year. you have no idea if any of the freshman can play.we need at least one of them to play next year, or the zips are in trouble.i am not saying we should not schedule better teams.just don't play any d-3,r d-2 teams.try to get a home and home with some teams like vcu.kd and the head coach are freinds so im sure they could work something out.

the 3pt shot is the equalizer in c-ball.i think it hurt all the non major schools hen they moved the line back. it's still the only way a team like cornell can beat a kentucky.the 3pt shot,and mid range shots have to be at a high percentage to win.if you look at big upsets like villinova,and g-town.villinova shot 70% from the field. i am not saying kentucky would not win 9 out of ten times.there is still that one chance that kentucky could get beat.

i would not be surpised if the coach left before bassett.we have seen this with Can't before.this time it might be ou. i know some people are not happy with kd, but he is staying at akron.he has said that he had other offers the year the team won 26 games.the guy is loyal to akron where most coaches would go the first chance they get.d1 b-ball is not like football.with 330 teams there are plenty of jobs open up every year.

some of the calls against zeke in the mac finals was b.s. the ou player would drive to the basket,and zeke did not even touch the guy.the ref would call a foul just because zeke was near the guy ,and put his hands up.kd really needs to get on the refs next year about calls on zeke.

to say these players did not give 100% is wrong.they played hard the entire year.where did you see any player not giving 100%? how did they win 20+ games,and go to the mack finals not trying.they lost some games, but is was not for lack of effort. all i am asking is what player did not try in a certain game? for the people who complain all the time about kd why do you go to the games.if you don't like him just don't go to the b-ball games.no one is making anyone go to the games.if you don't like a product just don't buy it.i am not saying you can't post your opinion on here. i just don't understand why some people complain all the time about the team, but contintue to go to the b-ball games.

the problem is we already used up are three scholly's.unless someone transfers,or quits we are stuck for next year. hopefully the guys coming in can help right away.the kid from kentucky seems to be able to hit the three ball. i like our starting five next year,but we have no frontcourt depth.any foul trouble with our big guys means trouble.

i think we will be fine at the guards with some good depth.the frontcourt of marshall ,nik,brett is fine.the big problem is we have no depth on the frontline.if none of the incoming freshman are not ready to play. bardo will get alott more pt. kd could use alott of three guard offense with brett mc clanahan.i would hope kd would use more press defense since we have alott of guards,and zeke back there to block shots.we never pressure the ball full court,and with the people we have back we can now.the key to next season is how much zeke improves.no team in the mac has a great center.he is the one guy who can change the way teams play us.the other key is at least one of the two freshman big guys have to play 10-15 min,and not hurt the team.if neither freshman can play then you will have to hope that none of those guys get into foul trouble.maybe bardo will get some pt to really see if he can do anything.we will also need brett mc clanahan to play defense ,and hit the outside shots.i would say right now without seeing any of the freashman next years team scares me.any injury/foul trouble to our frontcourt players would be a big disaster.the good thing is kd is going to have to play zeke 30 min every game.i just don't see any other option for akron at the C spot.

im sure the fan base would be really pleased starting 0-11.that's a good way to build a program. how did it help miami this year to prepare for the ncaa.kd has said that he will play anyone as long as they give us a return home game.the problem is teams don't want to play at the jar.they want a one and done.we have seen what that does to mac football.every akron fan would love to see duke,n.c.,clemson ect come to the jar.guess what? it will never happen.the only way top schools will play akron is on thier home court.the ncaa selection process has no selection critieria. if akron played a harder schedule this year,and lost 3 more games.the comittee would say we don't have any quality wins.we had 26 wins and did not even make the nit.the comittee would say our schedule is to soft.the mac is a one bid leauge.no matter what the schedule you play,or how many games you win it's a one bid league. nothing will change that.if the ncaa comittee did not take acc 23-8 (10-6)virgina tech team this year.there is no mac team that's going to get an at large bid.

here is why we lost to Can't.steve mc neese 23m,5pt,1-6 3pt,2-7fg,0 asst.,0 rebounds.3 turnovers.humpty 3-11 fg,0-5 3pt, shooting.he did get 4 reb,and 4 asst though. 9pts is not much considering how many shots he took.roberts 1-3 fg in 15 min,3 reb,1 asst.2pts your three top guards score only 16 pts total.to make matters worse it took them a ton of brick shots to get the 16.one or two of these guys is going to have to get hot if we are going to win the mac tourney.i hope some of these guys kd brings in next year can shoot.

can't is going to have to beat ou,and buffalo to get to the finals.either of those two teams could beat Can't.

Can't is a good team buut they are duke.we need better guard play,and three point shooting.

i think we are in the better bracket also.we would not play Can't until the champ game.the only loss to all the teamsin our side of the bracket is eastern.i think ou ,buffalo,or miami could beat Can't.i never liked giving the #2 seed to a team that does not deserve it.in our case though i think it really helped.there is no reason for us not to make the final.we can get upset,but we should be favored in every game until the final.

root yu must not be watching the same games i watch.steve gets the most pt of any of our guards.you can't use that excuse for a guy who throws up 30 footers,and your suprised if he maes them than misses them.

all the same guys are back except for nate,but the zips don't know how to win games? the biggest problem is we are getting nothing out of our back court.these were the same guys that led us to a mac champ last year.our fontline guys played good enough to win.when you have steve mcneese throwing up 25 footers,and not make any your in trouble.the guards like roberts,humpty,steward played bad.if the zips can hit the three pointers they can beat anyone in the mac because they did that last year.all kd can do is get them in a postion to win games.he has done that plenty of times.at some point the players themselves have to take on the responsibilty of winning.

there is more than just a regular season mac champs on the line.the winner will also get an nit bid.the zips need to take of business on friday.

there were only five teams that got at large bids that were not in the major conferences.so if yu have 5 out of 300+teams your chances of an at large are not very good.less than 2%.people can talk about what akron needs to do to get an at large bid.the reality is slim and none for conferences like the mac to get at large bids.what akron needs to do is beat Can't.win the mac outright,and get the nit bid locked down.that's something they can control right now.

the biggest thing stopping a mac school like akron is tv money.the bcs team get almost all of it,and don't want the non bcs schools to get any of it.unless the payout changes non bcs schools will be at big disadvantage.are there exceptions yes.for the most part though it will be hard for any mac schools to land in the top 25 for more than one year.

I don't know where people see that Can't has done a great job in occ scheduling. When was the last time they recieved an at large bid? No matter what teams do, the mac is a one bid league.

it's hard to evaluate era's.faust still has the 7-3-1 record team that no other coach can seem to match.while they did play some 1-aa schools they did not have a full contingent of players until his last few years either .they by far had the worst facilities of the three coaches.that team had enough talent to compete in the mac.would they win the mac in 2009? hard to say.ysu was prety good back then;so i don't consider them a 1-aa team.faust 7-3-1 team has some talent on the defense which i don't think akron has had in awhile.i don't think faust was the best coach of the three,but he had tone of the most talented teams in akron's history.if think a great game would be the jd mac champs versus faust's 7-3-1 team.that would be fun to see who the best team was.jd team had a great offense,and faust had some athletes on defense.

Can't has a low rpi.what has it done for them? they are not going to get an at large bid.it's nice they played five top 100 team, but only beat one of them.so i guess it's worth losing four games for an automatic bid you don't recieve.

zach makes a good point.none of those guys won a mac championship.you can say all those guys were better players,butthey never made it to the ncaa.nate was a good player,but this team won 20 games without him already.it's not likethis team collapsed without him.

the difference between the 100 ranked team,and the 50-60 ranked is none.this team thats ranked between 50-60lost to wmu.they lost not won at wmu.the same wmu team we beat on the road.if vcu is so great how come they lost to one of the worst teams in the mac.they won one game against us.that does not make them a great team.50-60 rpiteams don't lose to one of the worst teams in the mac.

no matter how you look at we lost one game.people act like we lost 10 games.that's the problem with akron b.ball now.the fans think we should win every game.when we don't the fans act like it's the end of akron basketball.

if vcu is so much better than the zips how did they lose to western michigan.if they were that good they would have won that game.if conyers would be sub they should have beat wmu by 30,but they lost.the same wmu team we beat at k-zoo.i think people are talking crazy things after this loss.bring vcu to the jar, and then see what happens.we have had to play them two years in a row at thier place.vcu is a decent team,but to say conyers would be a role player is insane.

we lose one game and all of a sudden we are taking a step backwards.it's amazing how we lose one game,and everyone piles on the coach.they forget the 20 win seasons we had under kd.maybe we should bring back coleman crawford,and dan hipsher.we lost because we did not shot the ball well.sometimes no matter how you play if shots are not falling you lose.some of this was vcu defense,but alott of it was wide open shots we missed.some of the touch calls on zeke were ridiculous.kd needs to play him.if he fouls out so be it.zeke gets a touch foul called on him and kd yanks him back to the bench.i have seen zeke play great if he is given extended min.this would have been a game to play him.i hate to say thisbut if he is not going to play zeke then the kid should have been red shirted.that's really the only complaint i have is the way kd is handling zeke.kd needs to get on the refs for some bad calls agasint zeke.the zips are going to have to play him next year,and they are not going to have the option of pulling him after every foul.let him play if he fouls out so be it.
