let's see our football coach won one game,and the program is a national joke. yet we are worried about our b-ball coach?

ou is not the best team in the mac.they have already lost to Can't and miami.the mac is wide open this year.not that ou can't win the mac,but to say they are the best team right now is crazy.

until mac school beats osu it's a moot.we just need to take our paycheck ,and get of columbus healthy.even with the guys suspended they have high school all americans on there team as backups. we get the leftovers that no big ten schools want.

naming rights would be great but i have no idea how much money that would bring in.

once we get into mac play he should be able to have some big games.there are no great big men in the mac.our best post player was j.wood,and he was only 6-6.no reason he can't double figures in rebounds,and block alott of shots in mac play.i have no idea if he will get the ball enough to score double figures.i am not sure what kd plan is for him on offense.

hopefully he can get back in b-ball shape over the next few games.we really need him to step up in mac play. nobody in the mac right now is playing good.it's hard to tell how good the teams are since some play really difficult schedules. if brett can play to his potential the zips can win the mac.if not i think the mac is wide open and we will struggle agains the east.i still the mac west is not very good.until they start beating the east teams on a regular basis any team in the east would win the west.it's hard to win when you have to play freshman alott of pt.hopefully that will chnage now.

no way this a better team without brett.it has nothing to do with dakota getting more pt.the problem he have no frontline depth now.who would you rather have on the court brett or mike bardo? i think we will do fine in the mac. the occ play will depend on how much foul trouble we get in.if zeke get's in foul trouble that means bardo will get more pt.if he is the best we have we are in trouble.

i thought our guys played tough.if we get brett back we will be even better.why does kd give bardo pt.give dakota the min.nothing against bardo, but he should not be on the floor.i know zeke was in foul trouble,but if we don't have anybody better than bardo we are in trouble.

keep him or get rid of him it does not matter.five years from now akron football will be at the bottom of the mac.just like it has been for 25 years.RI i think brought it to a new low;which i thought i would never see again.im not sure which team is worse faust last year,or this one.

gp i give you credit for having faith in the current players.reality set in after the lose to g.w. on how bad we are.

the spread would have to be 55 for me to take the zips for any of the remaining games.why would you not take wmu and give up7.5.in most of our games it's over after the first quarter.hopefully vegas knows something the akron u fans don't.

i guess when you play the 113 easist schedule good things happen.your right it was cmu over troy in ot.i don't think they have to worry about it for along time.

though the only thing i am suggesting is we are the worst team in d-1.ou beating akron does not make them a great program.the only problem with firing coach I is who would want this job now? during the hiring process none of the fans even know who the a.d. contacted,or interviewed for this job.the same thing would happen again. the best qualified person does not always get the job.the reason coach I recieved the job is becuase he knows the a.d. i am all for giving the guy at least two more years,but i have a feeling next year could be as bad.if thing are not better after year three he has to go.

the younger guys are not going to get better by sitting on the bench.this season is over anyways.i am not saying bench all the seniors.try to get some playing time for the younger players though.we will end up with a bunch of guys next year with no experience.guys need to know what it takes to play d-1 ball for next year. they will never find that out on the bench.the one thing rob I better find is a jc qb.i am not sure the coaching staff has any confidence in any of our qb right now.

your right the bcs will never be a good fit for the mac.when a mac team plays for a nationl championship let me know. teams like boise,tcu,byu,utah spend a hell of alott more money on thier fb programs than any mac school. when have we had a team in the top 25 at the end of the season.i can't even remeber.as far as OU building a championship they beat a 1-aa team, 0-7 akron,1-6 bg team,1-6 eastern michigan. OSU blew them off the field in columbus 43-7.they are a .500 team in the worst conference in football.i would not bragg about it. beat somebody that is decent then they can talk smack.getting beat 43-7 in nothing to brag about. if they were in any other conference besides the sunbelt they would be a doormatt.

instead oat least even interviewing winters.they hired a coach with no head coaching experience,and losing record at N.D. what other people did they interview,or contact? no one seems to know.all i said did they not even give winters an interview. did i say he should have recieved the job skip zip. NO,NO,NO. then you went on to write a book on why winters should not get the akon job.we get it.you don't like winters ;so let it go. my only point was to find out who they interviewed,or contact about the job.it does not seem like they really went all out to find a coach.now we are stuck with coach I.you tell me how could winters do any worse? we have not won a game yet,and proabably will not the reat of the year.

i think the blame can be spread around.players,coaches,a.d.,and the u of a admin.these players had three losing season in a row before coach I took over.if they were that great of players JD would have stil been here. i really would like to know how far the A.D. went to find a coach.how many guys did he interview for the job,and how many guys did he contact about the opening for the job.i know coach I is already here,but we as fans who pay for tickets have a right to know.did we even try to get the coach at app state, villinova,or any of the other top 1-aa teams. was paul winters even interviewed for the job.i am not saying paul should have got the job.i think it would have been the right thing interview him though.it seems like to me coach I walked in ,and was handed the job. T.W. know's coach I; so the buddy system prevailed.now that we have coach I we need to give him time to turn this program aorund.i think the program was in alott worse shape than most zip fans thought. we only have a few decent d-1 players on the team right now.the only way i see us turning ths around quicker is if coach i goes after some JC players for certain positions.we need to look at db as a major need.a qb,rb,wr also need help.i know it's a risk to bring in JC guys, but if not next year could be just as bad.

i think everyone needs to get used to coach I speak.the sad part is we may be worse next year.could we go 0-24.

your points are right on the money.akron and the mac will continue to be punching bags for teams like OSU. akron will stay in the mac, and pretend to compete in d-1.even if you can win some games in the mac what does that prove.your the best of the worst! either the non bcs conferences need to to something,or akron needs to do something on thier own.

we can only hope that the OU players,and coaches will have a pre-game victory party friday night. maybe they will all come to the game hung over.i really don't see any other way we will beat them.

BIG ZIP i don't care if you are talking about Can't.we also lost to a bad 1-aa team also;which is alott worse then losing to Can't.montana is in the wac.they get more tv $ than the mac.the mac has no national tv contract except the espn crums. we proved for twenty years the mac cannot compete in d-1,and akron now leads the way.at best we may be able to win some mac games.we will never be competitive with the bcs teams.if we drop down to 1-aa we will be able to play for a national championship on the feild.the best we can do now is play in some pizza bowl and get drilled by some bad bcs team.people keep saying we would lose money in 1-aa,but how do you know for sure. if akron started winning we would put people in the stands,sell more consessions,apparel,and parking.right now they will be lucky to get 7k the rest of the way.the fans that don't want us to drop down to 1-aa don't have to worry. akron will stay in D-1.we will start every season 0-4 in OCC play,and get beat by bad mac teams next year. we may get a little better under coach I and win a few mac games the next few years.gp is right in that the mac,sunbelt,and whatever other conference wants to get out of ncaa.start your own leauge so each team gets a fair chance to compete with each other.like i said before when alabama can pay a coach 40 million then akron has no chance in d-1.

for all the people who say other mac programs can win occ games why can't we.the reality is the mac is 6-31 against d-1 teams this year.nobody is getting it done week in and week out in occ play.for every niu beating of on min, toledo beating purdon't there are 11 other mac teams getting pounded that week.there is no other mac teams can do it; so why not akron.the conference has no tv contract that brings in $ revenue.the mac is then forced to play away games against bcs teams for money.akron has no business playing osu next year.we can't beat a 1-AA team let alone a top 10 team every year.we need to downgrade the schedule for the next few years.play home /home games against C-USA,and sunbelt teams.if you have to play a 1-aa team do it.start winning some games would be nice. people wan't to see a team that wins games.how many people know about soccer teams. people go to akron soccer because they win games.tell me how is OU,and EMU getting pounded by OSU is helping there recruiting.everybody said how great our occ schedule was this year.how great is 0-4 with about 7k at the rest of the games this year.you are competing against teams like alabama who can pay the coach 40 million a year.the bottom line is the mac cannot,and will not be able to compete in occ play simply because of tv revenue.

the defense finally played awsome.they were playing on thier side of the field all game and shut Can't down. the kicking game has finally turned around.i know most people won't agree with me.coach I should have kept walt harris as qb coach.nothing against the current qb coach now.nicley was a true freshman,and i thought walt harris did a good job with him.there is no way the current qb coach is as good as harris.every coach brings in ther own guys,but the qb spot is the most important postion on the team.what would it have hurt to keep him for one year. i have seen ohio state win with defense,kicking game,and a offense that does not turn the ball over. akron had two out of three against Can't.it's sad that we wasted a great defensive effort.i thought coach i called a good game.the problem is we lose our kicker for next year,and our best dl in 56. coach I needs to hit the jc route for a qb,rb,wr,db. i am not saying we need alott of jc players. we need to find at least one guy at those postions who can come in and play right away. if not this team could be in big trouble.if the defense can give this effort every week,and the offense can stop the turnovers we would win 2-3 games.i am not going to blame one guy.nicely either needs to throw the ball away or take off running,and cover the ball up with two hands.whatever coach needs to do get that point across to the qb's do it.

if our players have any pride at all they will go out and give Can't a game.if a coach has to motivate these guys for Can't then they should be playing d-1 football.we have a few games Can't ,ou,wmu, to show that the players belong in d-1.it's up to the players now to take matters in thier own hands.if we get lose the next three we may not win a game this year.i do agree that next year could even be worse than this year.no one expects us to winat Can't; so i hope the coaching staff will be agressive on offense.
