does anyone know if the selection show is on any of the espn channels?

hopefully we will get steward back soon.i agree that we only have one pg right now.still no excuse for a 90% shooter to miss three of them.the other guys missed plenty of them also.if you don't mkae your foul shoots your are going to lose games.it's that simple.i think the next game is huge to see how this team will react on friday.a win over a acc team would help stop the hurting right now.

in defense of nicely we have no running game.allen is not the same rb with all the injuries.tuzze is a fullback playing tb.i think our best rb torrence sat on the bench because he fumbles? i happen to see almost every skill player we had put the ball on the turf against temple.we have about six guys who can play against temple.wagner,nicely,sewell,jones,odifin,tuzze.tuzze would play on short yardage.the other players would not see the field if they played on temples team.our defensebackfield is way to small,and slow.how can you let somebody beat you deep on 3rd and long.somehow are defense gives up3rd long all the time.we lose almost all of our wr this year.we have enough talent coming back with the right coach to compete with some teams in the mac(miami, eastern, ball state,Can't,wmu, toledo ect.)the top mac teams we are along way off in terms of talent.we need to find the right coach.if that means waiting a few weeksafter the season then the zips need to do this.i hope they don't rush into hiring someone because they can take the job right away.they need to look at the top 1-aa coaches.most of the top 1-aa teams could beat the zips right now so im sure top 1-aa coaches are qualifed for the akron job.

i did happen to watch some of the duke unc/greensboro game.duke beat them up inside and on the boards.unc played zonemost of the game.unc did have a good pg.duke has a bunch of huge frontline players.they played a 7'1 center,and a 6'10 forward.they had two 6'10 guys come off the bench to replace those guys.this is a game where somebody like zeke should have a big impact.i think our frontline guys should match up well with them.they did have some decent guards though.

i would like to have some of that stuff to.we are so far from winning the mac.temple beat us on every part of thegame.we looked like a high school team out there.even if we get the right coach it will still take a few years for us to compete at a level like temple played tonight.we just don't have the players to compete right now.the good new is emu is probably as bad as us.it would be nice to end the season on a positive note.i have no idea what to expect at bg next week.

you have to be kidding to call the zags a team that was not that good.that team has two guys playing in the nba now from that team last year.when you say something like that you are clueless.when akron can put one guy in the nba off our team i would be estatic.they put two guys in the nba off that team,and they are not that good???

the defense has been playing fine the last few games.i don't what you are talking about how the offense responded.we scored ten points.our only score was on half back pass,or we would have only had three points.how about the offense doing something to help the defense like scoring more than 10 points a game.how about the offense running the football to eat up some clock,or getting a first down once in ahwile.the defense gets off the feild and four plays later they are right back on it.i give the defense alott of cedit for playing as well as they have.as soon as the opponent scores ten points the game is oversince our offense can't score more than one td a game.to blame the defense on why we are losing is just insane.

all that's well and good,but national tv is what counts.espn,and espn2.i am glad the zips are on tv,but it would be great to get another game or two on espn.hopefully if we have a good record that should help.

there is going to be an ajustment period going from high school to college.it's not like we don't have good players.nik really started to come on at the end of the year for a freshman.plus we don't know how bad his ankle is.if this was a coleman crawford team, and zeke looked bad i might be worried.i think it shows how much talent we have on this team.at the same time ck is right.the difference between the zags,and akron was the two zags big men.i think both of them are gone.i think the one player left early, but i might be wrong.the other one was a senior.

i agree with zipboy.getsy was the only decent qb we have seen in jd tenure.we found nicely because they had no one esle to play? also our kicking game has been a joke just about every year also.we had trouble making extra points two years ago.this year we can't make a fg,and our punts get blocked or travel 30 yards.that's why we need a kicker next year;even if it means giving up a scholly.also a qb would not hurt either from the jc route.

the problem is he might be the only one at the games next year if according to him jd stays.lol.

it's amazing how many of us fans agree on the next hire for hc.i also would hope we would hire a head coach from 1-aainstead of a cordinator.we went that route the last two times and look at the results.i just don't think there is much difference beetween the top teams in 1-aa and the bottom mac teams.we have the best facilities in the mac,and great high school talent in the area.the one thing the admin needs to stop scheduling bcs teams on the road.we have a new stadiumso why not use it? no reason we can't be playing 6-7 home games every year.there is enought talent on this team to get things back on track.depending on who we play next year,and if we get the right coach no reason we can't be 6-6.

i hope these guys can somehow find a way to beat Can't.it's not looking good right now though.the offense can't run theball,and puts pressure on are young qb.

i wonder if we can even beat a d-1 team this year.Can't has moved to 4-4.the good thing about this season is alottof young guys will get some playing time.i hope we have enough guys to finish the season though.

the zips need jimmy to step up this year.he is one of the few guys we have that can play on ball defense with some size.i agree it would be better if he starts,and brett can come off the bench.we need guys that can come off the bench that can score.i am not worried about zeke.akron needs him to play defense and block shots.whatever offense we get out of him is a plus.

i saw zeke play in the all star game with just about everbody on his team high d--1 offers.if he stays healthy he will be a force in the middle blocking shots.for a guy 7'0 he runs really well to.no way this guys redshirts unless he gets injured.the only scary thing is i have seen so many great big guys with foot/ankle problems.

sewell should have been on the first team.he is by far our best dl akron has had in a few years.he is constantly busting up plays.i am not sure how fast he is, but he might have the size to play at the next level.does anybody know how much he really weighs.they have him at 280 on the zips roster.finding dl lineman in the nfl is a premium position,and they make big money.

the turnover by torrence was total b.s. there was no way the ref could have seen when the ball came out.even the buffalo announcers said they could not see when the ball came out.they showed different angles,and you could not see any prts of the ball.that was one a few terrible call agianst us.especially the offensive interference call.

i totally disagree about the team.i am not a big jd fan.the last two games the team did play hard.i don't know how you could say the guys quit playing hard.if they were not playing hard akron would have been beaten 70-0.these last two games at least we had a chance to win both of them.we have problems with special teams,and play calling that are the difference between winning,and losing games.i have never seen a team like akron give up so many, 3rd and long plays,and the red offense is terrible.that does not mean that the guys are not playing hard.i still think there is talent on this team to win some mac games.i am not saying we will win the next six.the younger guys are getting pt now,and this will help the next coach whoever that may be.i think if we can get the right coach akron can turn the program around quickly.also they need to stop scheduling any teams that won't give us a home/home.right now we have no business playing any bcs teams.

the refs did not do us any favors.they call us for offensive pas interfearence? two times the buffalo playersshould have been called. on the fumble play with torrence was total B.S..there was no way the ref could have seen when the ball came out.even on the replay you could not see the ball.i usually don't complain,but the refs were terrible yesterday.

we will probably win 2 more games.i can't see any better than 3-3 in the last six games.i think for the most partthe defense had played well all season.when you consider that the offense has not done much to help them.

sorry my bad.i meant to say that our defense should be decent next year with sewell on the d-line.most macschools don't have good defensive lineman.akron should be in god shape on the d-line this year,and next.

sewell is a great player.he was busting up the ou offense.to bad he got hurt.i think whoever the coach is next yearshould have a decent defense.im not saying they are great,but i have seen some really bad defensive teams with L.O. this defense is alott better than any owens had.you also have to figure in that our offense is terrible,and the D guys just wear out.if sewell comes back from injury our d-line should be pretty good next year.
