all good post on the baord about the b-abll tea.the mac is wide open ,and can't appears to be beatable.it really all comes down to the mac tourney now.the mac is one bid league,and this makes the regualar season not that important.i am sure no zips fan wants to losebut what matters is winning the mac tourney.i just wish we had zeke this year.finding solid big men in college b-ball is not easy let alone the mac.hopefully zeke will chage that for akron.

skip zip you are right.somebody needs to make some baskets.zips will be ok though.we should be able to beat up on the west teams.have to win all the home games though.cannot afford to lose to buffalo.i hate to point to next year,but we will have an inside game.we have nobody on the low post that scares the other mac teams right now.

my point is if kd had three losing season in a row he would have fired.jd had three losiing season in a row,and somehowhe's still here.most zips fans would be happy with a 6-6 record last year.if the b-ball team went .500 people on this board would rip kd.the b-ball team is judged at a higher standard then the football team.

my point was how the f-ball,and b-ball teams are judged differently.we lose one game in b-ball , and some fans are complaining about kd.jd has three losing season in a row,and alott of fans think he deserves another season.you cannot honestly tell me if kd had threee losing sesason in a row everyone on this board would be calling for him to resign.jd has three losing season,and let keep him around.i am nto saying we should get rid of jd.my point is that f-ball and basketball are judged differently.we have double standard for some reason.

it's funny how we lose one game,and all of sudden we have no talent.kd can't coach blah ,blah ,blah..if that's the case how are we 8-5 then.jd has three losing season in a row,and most think he should keep his job.for some reason the b-ball,and f-ball are judged differently.if kd had one losing season fans would want him gone let alone three.

i wondered what people think about the zips defense next year.i am not really talking about formation,but personell.i know jd has some jc db on the way.bain would be a big help also.i wondered about the lb positon.the guys we have coming back at lb are not very big.i know the 3-3-5 calls for alott of quick lb's.i just don't see how a 200 lb is going to take on a 300lb o-lineman in the run game.we can never get pressure on the qb either;so how is all this so called speed helping?i really think whatever defense we play.jd needs to find some size at the lb spot.i think the 4-3 will help,but he still needs to find a big lb or two that can play right away.i also think the d-line coaching is not very good.i am not calling out any one coach,but we never can put pressure on the qb.i don't know how many times we would have third/long,and the opponent would get a first down.

i was not aware that a.jones was going to be back next year.jd needs to move him back to defense.we have enough wr for next year.this would be the first move in building our defense back.if we can get bain on the field with jones back at dbthings could start to turn around.i am not saying he is not a good wr,but giving 400 yds/game has to stop.

the problem with the football team is the expectation level is set low.it's pretty bad when a coach goes 6-6,and people think he should get coach of the year.most programs 6-6 season fans would be calling for the coach to resign.not akron.we settle for 6-6 as a great season,and a pay raise.i am all for giving jd another year,but we need to start winning.where is all this talent everybody says akron has.the offense does have some good players,and jd has done a good job.the defense is another story.i see no difference in talent from owens / jd on defense.they were bad then,and they are bad now.the zips need to pull together, and win the next two games.no reason they should not beat either ou,or temple.

frenchie said that walsh beat ashland by 35.they already had played a game this year.you had alott of guys who were playing their first game.kd will get the defense straight,or the kids that don't will sit the bench.

the good part about the zips is that the entire east division is not very good.we may lose one more games this season,but it may not matter.we may be able to win the mac with the 5-3 record if everybody else keeps losing.akron is in a good spot to sit back, and watch the other mac teams beat each other up now.miami proved there is not one team in the east that can't another team in the east.

they should put andre jones in at db on 3rd & long situations.it would only be a few plays a game.how many times has this defense had teams 3rd and long.i am not saying to put him in on d the entire time.it would be in certain situations like 3 & long.i do agree with the one poster that we need to start rotating d-line.what could it hurt at this point.every fourth qtr we give up big leads.i think alott of this is the d-l being worn out.nothing we are doing now is working so they need to try something else.

lol. for zippy rules.i think after today evey game is scary.i will give props for the offense though.kennedy ran like a man on a mission.

hopefully the zips will realize how lucky we were to win.bg lost so there is a big opportunity for akron to win the east.i have to agree with the other poster.no team in the east would be even.500 in the west.

i gave no reason why jd played for a fg.it almost cost us the game.

the zips need to wake up after this game.we got a gift today.i am glad we won,but our kicking/ defense need alott of work.we gave up 367 yards rushing today.totally ridiculos.

i really thought our defense had improved ober the last few games.we cannot stop the run ,or pass.alott of missed takles.

we can build a $55 million dollar stadium,and we cant afford a few $100,00 dollars? right.if enough boosters want a coach gone they have plenty of cash to buy out his contract.

it does not matter where we were picked.we are 3-4 in one of the worst conferences in d-1 football.maybe the mac is up a little thisyear,but our divison is absolutley horrible.no team has a winning record,and we should be happy? the zips had a chance this year to something becasue our division is horrible.i am not saying the season is over,but where is this bowl talk coming from.there is no way with a 6-6 record akron is going to a bowl.with the bg loss they are two games ahead of us not one.akron has to win out,and hope bg losses two more games.i am not saying akron can't win the east,but the loss last night cost us.

the offense play calling was the main reason we lost the game.when you run the ball you also eat up alott of clock.it keeps the defense off the field.they get alott more rest.we were running the ball well all night,and decide to start throwing it.how many times does jac get passes batted down at the line of scrimmage? the offense was three and out alott in the second half which wore down the defense.the team can win if we are able to run the ball.i realize you have to throw,but we had alott of success running last night.when you can't run the ball you are asking jac to win games for you.i just don't think he's qb who can carry a team.he forces to many passes,and get alott of balls batted down.if we can run the ball then the pressure is off him to win games for us.we can win games with him at qb,but not like the type of game last night.

akron is building a new 55 million dollar stadium.akron then has to go on the road to pay for the stadium.what's the point of having a new stadium if you don't use it.there are plenty of teams that will play a one for one.especially now with new stadium.akron is just like most of the other mac schools.play money games on the road with little chance of winning.mac schools have been doing this for years,and what has that got them.0. akron finally has some leverage to get some home/home games and they just gave it away.college football is messed up in the sense it's a have/have nots.every year teams like osu,penn state play 7-8 home games.

the fact is like it or not kids on college drink.they drink alott,and the kid was being honest.while he probably never should have said it on the radio it does not change the fact.if a kid drinks because someone on the radio does ;then we are in trouble.to think high school & college kids don't drink is crazy.

if we can run the ball then cj is fine at qb.if you look at the games we won army/cuse.the zips were abel to pound the balland the passing game opened up.if the zips can't run the ball we are in big trouble.teams are not scared of cj's running ability.they can send a pass rush knowing he is no threat to run.i would think by now most teams know the zips will not throw deep passes either.the coaching staff needs to have c.j. throw some deep passes.even if they are not completedit opens up the short passing game.this is strictly play calling on the coaches.how many times do the zips throw over 20 yards.instead they throw bubble screens on third on long.if i am a d-cordinator defending the zips is not that difficult.our qb is no threat to scramble to make defenses pay for blitzes,and the playing calling is all screens/short passes.i wish for one time on first down they would throw it deep just to keep the defense honest.

that's what happens when you have a mac commish who lets teams in for no reason.there was no reason to let temple in unless you had another team along with them.
