i just dont see how we are going to see time for roberts,humpty,and steward.it will be a nice problem to have.it's hard to tell how roberts will do.i thought he did pretty good until the u-mass game.u-mass though made dials look bad also.we won't see a team like u-mass speed to many times next year.

from reading the info on him he is a good shooter.jd won't play anybody if they can paly defense.if he can pay some defenseyou can always use someone who can knock down the three pointers.

does anybody know why johnson did not play in the spring game.right now we have allen and kennedy at tb.i think they would do an ok job,but the best player on the offense williams is now on defense. i just dont get it.i know williams is going to be a good db,but how does that help if we cannot score any points.plus jd takes are best db and puts him at wr.he was our best open field tackler.hopefully jd knows what he is doing.i just don't see our offense is going to score any points.

if cj is our starter this year i think we are in big trouble.i did not see the spring game,but saw enough last year.if we had a good o-line maybe we could get by with him,but we don't.all teams have to do is get any kind of pressure on himand were done.hopefully jd is just keeping things competitive ,but not naming rogers the starter yet.

just wondering did a.johnson play at all.i looked on the stat sheet,and he did not have any carries?

the biggest problem the defense had last year was the zips offense.i thought for the most part the defense played well enoughto win games.i don't care how good of d-line we have if they are on the feild alott eventually they will wear out.plus the nose guard can be double teamed all day,and someone else has to make some plays.i just don't think with our defense 3-3-5 the noseguard can be taken out of every play.

that does not surprise me.i think our db's played well this year.we had no pass rush,and a offense that was 3 and out alott.i dont care how good a db you are. eventually you will get beat if you are left out on the field play after play.

big zip i agree.niether kennedy,or allen has breakaway speed.the only guy that we have is williams,and he is now a db.i thought johnson was supposed to start ths year at tb? i

U A fan i should have made my statment a little better.i was speaking about the kick off,extra point,fg.hopefully they can find a punter.the year before we had trouble making an extra point let alone fg.i think having a solid fg kicker is a big plus since our offense may not be that good.if we can get the ball inside the 30 at least we have a good chance to score three.

zipsrifle i have to agree with you.i offense was terrible last year,and we lose our wr.the only rb threat williams is moved to db?then jd puts are best db jones at wr.i hope jd knows what he is doing.looks like harvey,and lindsey are not coming back.i thought if both of them came back that would help alott.hopefully rogers is alott better than cj,but if the line cannot block we are in trouble.i think our defense,and kicking game should be solid.i just dont see how this offense is going to score enough points against some of the teams in the mac.

does anybody know what contract is right now.i do not think he would leave akron as long as he is treated fairly by au admin.au needs to lock him down to a long term contract.every year it seems like we lose guys,and we keep on winning.kd strategy of home and home games will keep this program going.i know some people dont like it,but you have the other extreme with the football team.playing on the road for $,and look at where each program is right now.

it's sad that steward was hurt this year.he was the one piece of the puzzle that could have helped the zips this year.any news on his health.also what about conyers?does anybody know if he is coming back.hopefully he will stick it out.he could help us at the small forward/big guard spot. if these two guys come back healthy and ready to play that would help regardless of what the freshman do.

you only bring up the ones we lost.what about the ones we win.you forget that we beat fsu on there court.kd wins 70% of his games so i guess if we lose a few tough ones then you have to give him credit for the wins but you don't.it's one things to say he has a weakness in certain areas,but to say he is a terrible coach is just laughable.

i think our front court will be ok.we add a 6-8,and 6-9guy.i love the guys we have coming back in the frount court.the big question is pg.if we can get that fixed we should be ok.also what about conyers? mc neese fell off the last part of the season,and we need him next year.

i know johnson was one of the top rb's in the country before he went to miami.i am sure jd made this decision seeing johnson,and allen as the rb.johnson is lsited as 230 lbs,and if he is fast like in the high school films look out.we have never had a complete back at akron.we have had guys around 190 that run hard,but nobody 230 that has any kind of speed.

nobody said you cant post negative on here.if you read the post there is alott more than i person on here saying he cant coach,and we have no talent.when we win a game they seem to not post until we lose one.then it's the same old same old.i just dont understand why some post only negative things when we lose.when we win those same people go off the board.i just dont think alott of zip fans not all really appreciate what kd has done for this program in three years.they just like to complain when we lose.

finally some decent post after a few zip fans whine because we did not go win the ncaa tourney.we lose in the championship game two years on a row.all of sudden we have no talent,and kd cant coach.?there are ten other programs in the mac that would like to be akron right now.three 20 + plus win seasons,and most likely a two post season tourneys.like i said the b-ball team,and the football team is judges toally different.jd can have losing seasons year after year,and no one says a word.the Can't thread is wrong.what did Can't do last year.nothing.akron beat them three times in a row last year.i wish people would stop complaining when we lose one game,and act like the zips team is one of the worst in the mac.we have enough coming back next year to have a good team,but according to some fans we will be lucky to win one game next year.no one makes anyone body go to the games.if people dont like the b-ball team dont go to the games.if a product is bad dont buy it.it's that simple.everyone is entitled to post on the board but if the b-ball team bothers some people so much dont go to the games.

cbi for sure.after what the nit did to us last year if the cbi offers us first take it,and tell the nit to pound salt.

byran i am not taking shot at you.you do not realize is the nit was cut down last year.actually it's alott harder for any team to make postseason play in ball than football.the cbi is only replacing what was taken away from the nit last year.or would you prefer to have a 26 win team like the zips sit at home like last year? how is that fair.

the schedule is the same bs it always is.five home games.first two on the road against wisky,and cuse.i dont want to hear how bad cuse is.our record is bad against anyone on the road.i am in no way blaming jd for this mess.once we get the new stadium this crap lpaying money games on the road will end.hopefully things will get better once we get into mac play.hopefully jd will survive this to get to the new stadium.i just dont see how this schedule will get the zips to over .500.most likely we will go 1-3 in occ play.best case is 2-2.this is a team coming of two losing season,and did not need this type of schedule start off 0-2.
