that's a fair statement, but kennedy was not the same back at the begging of the year as the end.maybe he was hurt alott worse than anyone knew? also no one could run behind our offensive line.the only problem next year on paper the o-line does not appear to be much better.on a positive note i don't know how they could be much worse.hopefully we can find another back who can make some long runs to make up for some bad blocking.

nevada guard play really surprised me.those guys were pretty athletic,and busted some three's. that was the one area i thought we might have an advantage. i thought wood and milmum played well considering how big nevada was.i know you are not supposed to make excuses,but not having him probably cost us the niu game.conyers also looked like he is coming on. it looks to me like kd is building a solid program for the next few years.

to win the game the zips are going to have to hit a high % of three pointers,and please make your fouls shots. i just don't see akron getting many offensive boards;so going to have to make the all count.

you can talk about toledo,and Can't playing the harder schedule. the fact is they lost all of those games. a loss is a loss is a loss.if you beat those teams then that's great. to play them ,and lose is still a loss. id rather be 7-2 getting ready to play nevada than 5-4 now.if we beat them 8-2, and win over a top 20 team looks real good.

if you listen to kd after the two losses he even admits, and is aware we need more big guys upfront. if you look at the past years of some of the zips teams how many big guys were total bust.im not going to name names,but alott of them.i would rather have 6'7 guy that can at least see the floor than a seven footer that is horrible.we have woods,and milmum back next year.mc knight looks at least to give us some help plus the 6'9 kid from pa. im not worried at all about our talent level in the next few years.

it's one loss on the road,and everyone is going into panic mode. uic destroyed niu of the mac, and gave the illini all they could handle. they are a good team with two big guys who are pretty decent players.we are already thin upfront,ad with woods out it just mades things worse. if the football team were 6-2 right now everyone would be to ready to make jd mayor of akron.i think the akron fans are totally unrealistic/unfair comparing the two programs,and coaches.

key players are senior's ? we only have two plus wood did not play,and he is back next year also.

mc knight did nothing???? he had seven points ,and four boards in only 18 min. plus a block. if you take that over 35 min those are some decent numbers. especially since he's a true freshman.if your the coaching expert who do you think then should get more pt?

im going to let this go ;since we didn't have woods.linhart took a big fall,and did not give us much. mcknight looks like he just needs more pt. and can play right now! im not the coach ,but he's not going to get better on the bench.

i don't understand why mck night did not get more pt in the second half. especially with woods out.we needed some more rebounding.

what was linhart doing on that one/up by three and the ball? quade has stepped up his game,and mc knight looks real good for a freshman.

i like the idea of jd going the jc route for a few ol.while it's not the ideal situation to get alott of jc guys; i don't think we have much choice at the ol position. when rush for negative yards they better improve the ol in a hurry.you just don't find to many high school ol guys that can come in and start right away.

does anyone know our kicking situation next year? the only spot where i see us being really in bad shape is ol. i don't think it matters who the qb is if we can't run the ball next year. hopefully jd can get a few quality ol;even if we have to go the jc route for one or two ol.

a good road win by the zips.i don't really put much into the last part of the game. any time you get a big lead, put subs in your going to have turnovers.

i don't know how people are bashing the coaches when they write about things they don't like.as long as the attacks are not personal then it's not hurting anyone. how is rushing for negative yards in the last two games,and the most penalized team in the country bashing the coaches. those are just plain old facts.i think jd should have got a contract extension because he did a good job last year. this year it think most zips fans would agree was a team that underperformed.

we gave up 17 points each to two of the best teams in the mac.meanwhile our offense has negative yards rushing,and 7 points in two games.im 100 times more worried about our offense than defense.

looking at the stats from yahoo akron is the # 1 most penalized team in the country.there are some teams with some games left: so we have not locked up the title yet.i'll guess we will have to wait, and see if we can take the title of being # 1.

i think the d-line will be ok next year,but with little depth.if we can get some of the other's like the kid from canton mc kinley back on the d-line then they could be very good.what scares me is the o-line where we have to replace three to four guys ,and no depth. it seems like jd realizes there is a problem,and is looking to the jc route.

the good things is see with jd is the defense. we held the two of three best teams in the mac to 17 points. considering our offense did nothing to help them i thought the defense played pretty well.the one good thing is we only scored 7points in the last two games.the offense played so bad that they really could not play much worse next year.when you have negative yardage rushing over the last two games if we have a back gain one yard it's better than last year. the kicking game can't get much worse either. if jd can bring in a guy who can make extra points,and not get fg 's blocked that will be an improvement. it's going to get better next year for the kicking game, and offense simply because they can't get much worse.

luke is gone now ;so who are some of the fans going to blame next year. when you get kick's blocked,most penalized team in the mac,and rush for negative yardage the last two game; it does not matter who the qb is.your not going to beat anybody.the zips have alott more issues than just the qb.i do agree he should have played some other qb's once the game was 17-0 and in the fourth qtr.now our starting qb next year has two snaps in a game.with a new ol, and qb going into osu could get ugly.

we may have had 16 starters back but it's not like we finished 10-2. at the same time i think the offense in all areas underperformed.wr dropped passed,andlack of running game. the cmu game interception at the end of the half was the turning point for that game.jd also never would make adjustments

so i guess when our o-line goes up the feild before the snap it's not offsides,or when our o-line pulls the guy down from behind it's not holding. from what i have seen of the games there is no way he can make excuses.

we have an open date on the schedule. we do not need a game with pitt. we already have a decent oc schedule with army,indiana,and osu.it would be a big plus if we had a home game before osu. even if it's a 1-aa,sun belt ect team at home we need a win to start the season. the same people who want to play pitt will be the same one complaning if we startt off 0-3.no way do i want to open the season with a new qb,and ol at the shoe.
